Monday 1st January

DD and I were awake at 8am but the boys slept on, they finally woke just after 9am. Once they were washed and dressed we went to Roaring Forks for some breakfast via a bit of pin trading in the lobby. It was nearly 10am when we got there but even at this time it was still busy. We found somewhere to sit and had our breakfast. Once we had finished we set off for the Premium Outlets in search of a suitcase. As usual we had bought too much but I blame it on having to take winter clothes as well as summer ones :lmao: .

The Premiums were packed, mainly with Brits in search of a bargain. We went to the Samsonite shop but the cheapest case there was $129 so we didn’t bother. I got a few bits in Tommy Hillfiger so it wasn’t a wasted journey. We stopped in the food court where DS had an Ice-cream, DD had a Subway and DH & I had a Starbucks. The line here was huge and it took me 20 minutes to get the coffee. While I was waiting I got chatting to a lady from the UK and we compared notes about resorts and crowd levels.

We left the Premium’s and headed for Wal-Mart on the SR535. Here we found a case for $54.99, which was more like it. We set off back to VWL and the kids sat on the balcony with their Nintendo’s while I put the cases on one bed and all the things that needed packing on the other bed. DH unboxed DS’s Lego Death Star as it would take up less space that way, as it was the Death Star took up one of our carry on bags.

The kids and I left DH to the packing and we set off for the pool. I don’t mind packing to go on holiday but hate packing to come home so luckily DH always does this job. (I knew there was a reason I brought him on this holiday ;) )

He joined us by the pool a couple of hours later with about 95% of it done - phew. DD had decided she would like a hair braid and as she had enough money left from her Santa stash she chose the colours she wanted and got it done. It took about 15 minutes and cost $24.50 plus tip. I think she is offering a friendly greeting to her brother in this photo

We stayed by the pool until half 4 then DS and I went back to the room and told DD and DH to come back up at 5pm. The plan was to play mini golf then try Sizzlers for dinner. It started raining on the way so we postponed the golf and went straight to dinner. Sizzlers was OK – a bit like an up market Ponderosa and will make a change from Golden Corral when DS needs his steak and pasta fix.

It was still raining when we left Sizzlers so we came back to the lodge and chilled in the room.

Weather Cooler today and a bit cloudy but still shorts and T-shirt weather.

I always thought that was the standard sibling greeting

:yay:

A lovely day apart from the packing, yuk, I hate that too, and is always my hubby's job too! Love your daughter's hair braid, very cute.

Yep my DH is return leg packer too! I get all hysterical ;)

Glad you found your suitcase. We had to buy another one the last time we went. I will try not to bring so many clothes next time as DVC have good washers and dryers.
