Monday 25th December

DS had a rough night and was coughing a lot, he woke up at 7am and as DD woke only a few minutes later I put on the Christmas tree and they checked to see if Santa had been. What a surprise, he had ;). He left a Yu-Gi-Oh tin and $100 for DS and a silver sleigh bell (just like the one on Polar Express) and $100 for DD. DD seemed initially disappointed and when I asked her why she said that I must have bought the sleigh bell as it had 2005 on it. I explained that she had asked for this on Christmas Eve 2005 and it had been too late for Santa to deliver it so he had kept it until this year. She totally bought this and was happy again (phew) Santa had also left a small prezzie for DH.

I got dressed and went to the lounge to bring back some breakfast. DS ate nothing as he was feeling too rough. There is no way he could cope with the MK crowds today so we revised our plans and will head to DTD instead. I took some time to chill on the balcony and admire the view.

We got dressed and caught the bus to DTD, DS was feeling very rough on the bus and at one point I though he might be sick. He perked up a bit when we got off the bus and we walked to the World of Disney Store. I got a bum bag and noticed that all the black Crocs had sold out since yesterday. DD also got two Disney Polly Pockets with her Santa money and again we got a 10% AP discount.

Next up it was the Lego store where DS bought some Avatar Lego and spent $85 of his money. Between buying his Death Star and the Avatar Lego we got 12 stamps on out Lego card and got a $30 voucher which we will no doubt use next summer.

The kids were starving so we went into McDonalds (great Christmas dinner ;) ) and it was quite busy there. We all had to get Happy Meals so that DS could get the Yu-Gi-Oh cards and he was pleased to get one of the cards he really wanted but has decided that he must get all 20. As they are randomly put in the packs we might have trouble. Next we were heading up to the Virgin store to try and get another Nintendo DS lite. Since DD’s miraculous transformation on the plane she now needs something to keep her amused. It seems they had sold the last one just before we got there and from what they said they were the last store in Orlando with any stock left.:

We stopped for an Ice cream and then made our way back to the bus stop. On the way there we went into the $10 store near the Earl of Sandwich and they had lucky dip bags for $6.99, the kids bought one each and opened them on the bus. They were great and had a Stitch cup, a Lanyard medal, a Disney car and a couple of other things. The kids loved them so when the bus stopped at the Pleasure Island stop DD and I got off to go back and get some more while the boys headed home.

It started raining and it was torrential by he time we came out of the $10 store. Typically the boys had the ponchos in DH’s bag on the bus so we got absolutely soaked. The rain was very heavy and there was some serious thunder. We later heard on the news that there was a tornado watch in effect and one had touched down in Daytona destroying houses. We eventually got back to the CR and DD & I grabbed some drinks before heading up to the room.

DS still wasn’t feeling great so we spent the afternoon in the room which wasn’t how I planned to spend Christmas day but never mind the view was stunning.

We had dinner booked at CM for 6pm and DD and I went downstairs at 5pm mainly because we were bored. We checked in and looked around the 4th floor until our pager went off just before 6pm. We called the boys in the room and they came right down.

Dinner was OK but not as nice as the one we had in 1900PF the night before there didn’t seem to be as much choice. We saw all the characters and did the napkin waving.

There was nothing DS would eat so I asked once of the chefs if they would cook him a bowl of plain pasta which they kindly did. We went back up to the room and I had a glass of wine from the lounge.

We spent the rest of the evening watching TV (a bit like at home then) and marveled at the lack of choice, we actually watched a spelling Bee !!!! We finished the evening watching the Polar Express just stopping to watch Wishes from the balcony and went to bed at 10pm.

Weather Warm and very wet - shorts / T-shirt and rain poncho’s. It’s the first rain we have had in 11 days

Sorry Aodhan wasn't feeling too well but you still managed to have a great Christmas Day! :santa: Fab photos - if you don't mind me asking, what camera do you use? I thought nothing could beat the Poly but I really want to stay at the Contemporary next as I'm in totally love with that view...:thumbsup2

I use a Fuji Finepix 5500. I had an older Fuji model which finally gave up the ghost after many years of service and was all set to buy the latest Fuji S5600 but the shop had the S5500 second hand and we went for it instead. Its a great camera and I'm really pleased with the results I get from it.

The CR views are priceless. We are staying at the Polly for a night in the summer so I'll report back on how they compare. :thumbsup2

Hope your DS is now on the mend and that you all manage to stay healthy for a while. ;) Fantastic photos again. :thumbsup2

Seems like you all made the best of the day. Pleased to hear that Santa had been and that the kids got chance to spend the money he left them.
