Saturday 23rd December

I woke at about 7am and DH said he had been awake on and off since 4am. He got up and went to the lounge about half 7. DS was next awake and DD had a good nights sleep without coughing and didn’t wake until 8am. I went to the lounge and got their breakfast and took this picture while I was there.

I got chatting to Lou Ann and she asked how DD was then went a got a present each that she had got for them and some home made Christmas cereal for DH & I. I thought that was really sweet and thanked her, I also got DD to write a thank you note and draw a Christmas picture. We stayed in the room until just after 9 then went to get the bus to AK.

We got there about half 10 and hired a wheelchair for DD as she was still very tired and washed out. We made our way to the Nemo show as DD wanted DH to see it. DS and I weren’t bothered so we went into Dinoland. I got DS some fries as he hadn’t eaten much for breakfast. He then went on to Primeval Whirl and we had a look at some guys doing amazing tricks on a trampoline. After that we sat and waited for the Nemo show to get out.

We met up with the guys and DD was hungry so we went to Pizzafari where she had Pizza, I had a Cesar Salad and DH had a sandwich. DS had some more fries and he and DD shared some chocolate cake. It was hot and sunny but DD wasn’t feeling great so we decided to come back to the room and chill by the pool.

We just missed a bus and had to wait about 15 minutes for another and got back to the Contemporary around 1. We grabbed some cokes and snacks then got ready and went down to the pool. It was very hot and sunny and we spent a couple of hours in and out of the water.

While we were there they lifeguards organised a Christmas Tree relay race and DS & DD’s team won and they both picked a cuddly cat each. A bit later there was building a Gingerbread House which was great fun. (Who can spot the hidden Mickey on DD’s house)

Reluctantly we had to leave the pool around half 3 to get ready to go to MGM for our H&V ADR. We got down to the bus stop and a bus came right away. One thing about CR busses is that they also call at WL and the Grand Floridian. We had no problems as we were always first on and first off but the bus was packed by the time it finally set off for MGM. We got there at 4:45pm - picked up our wheelchair and got to H&V just before our ADR time. We waited about 10 minutes before we were called in. The food was good we got our Fantasmic pass before we left.

We decided to take DH to see the Osborne lights but it was completely mobbed and we couldn’t even get in to see them. We went back to the dinner entrance of Fantasmic and got our seats around half 6. DS was bored and started to get agitated. I kept chatting to him and eventually the show started. There was a small shower just before it ended and a few people left but I put ponchos on the kids and we stayed until the end.

After Fantasmic we went back to the Osborne lights and there were a lot less people this time. We walked all the way down to the end and saw the dancing lights DH loved them just as much as we did.

It was now just after 8 and DD was tired so we decided to go back to the CR to watch Wishes. We got to the bus stop as a bus was loading but unfortunately it was full just as it was our turn to board.

The next one came about 10 minutes later and it was also packed when it left. There was a child standing next to DS and I heard him tell his mum that he had a pain in his tummy. I told DS to sit as close to me as possible and a few minutes later the kid threw up everywhere. Luckily it was away from DS but got the woman and her daughter sitting on the other side of him. The smell was terrible and it was making a few people on the bus feel ill. Luckily we were almost at the Contemporary and couldn’t wait to get off. I did feel sorry for the boy though.

We went up to the lounge and DH took some photos of the CR tree from outside

We got some drinks and deserts and took them back to the room. DD and I watched the fireworks and DS played on the Nintendo. DH came back to the room and caught the end of the show. DS has started coughing and complaining of a sore throat and I have one too. We watched some TV before bed at 10pm.

Weather Very hot and sunny / shorts and T-shirts even in the evening.
