Thursday 9th August
I didnt get up until nearly 8am today and DS was already up. DH was next followed DD and we were all ready to leave just after 9am. We got to TL about 9:20am and already it was looking busy. We used a plus day on some old Magic Your Way tickets from 2004 and got in with no problems. I bought a bar code for the refillable mug, which was $6 and we found a place to sit near Crush n Gusher. The line wasnt too long so we went on 2 and 2 it was a great ride although there is no graceful way to out of the tube at the end.
Next we went to do some of the slides and had a couple of goes on each then twice round the lazy river. It was very hot so we went back to our chairs and had a drink for the kids, coffee for DH & I, a muffin for DS and the rest of us shared a dozen mini donuts which were lovely. Our coffee was scalding so DH and I took it to the wave pool where we sat on the side until wed finished the coffee.
We spent quite a while in the wave pool then DH went back to our chairs while the kids and I did the lazy river a few times again. I had a bit of a headache so while the kids went back to DH I went to the first aid station for some tablets. They said to be wary of heat exhaustion as the heat index was well in the 100s. I mentioned that Id also had a headache yesterday and the CM said that the effects were cumulative and if you didnt drink enough one day it could affect you the next day as well. She went into the back and gave me a couple of bottles of Power aid to drink as this is the stuff to help beat dehydration.
I went back to the kids and then went with them to the sharks area but the line was very long so we didnt bother to wait. DD somehow managed to get a large cut on the ball of her big toe so we needed another trip to first aid. They put some spray on it and a plaster and gave me a couple of plasters to take with us.
DD wanted to keep her foot a bit dry so we went onto the bridge to squirt people in the lazy river while DS did a couple of circuits. When hed finished we went back to get DH, we decided to do a few more circuits of the lazy river, then leave. While he was back at the chairs DH heard an announcement to say that the park was full so only put your stuff on chairs that you were actually using and not to put shoes, clothes etc, on spare chairs. When we finished in the lazy river we went back to the car and stopped at Walgreens near the villa for milk and Gatorade.
We showered and changed and chilled for a few hours which involved DS watching some TV in his room. DD watching a DVD on the laptop, DH caching some zzzz and me watching the weather channel. (I knew Id get him back for that photo of me sleeping on the plane)
DD was getting hungry so we went out for something to eat just before 5pm. It was the Golden Corral again and we had the usual stuff. After something to eat we set off for Sea World up the I-4 which wasnt too bad considering it was the rush hour. We parked up and made our way into the park. There was a long line at the turnstiles and it seemed to take longer to get through than it does first thing in the morning. We were all prepared for DSs ticket to have problems again but it worked OK. The plan tonight was just to watch Clyde & Seymour, Shamu Rocks and to ride Kraken and Wild Atlantis in the dark.
Wed been told that the 8:15pm Shamu rocks show was very popular so I made my way to the Shamu stadium while everyone else went to Clyde and Seymour. I caught the end of the last Believe show and was surprised at how many people stayed on for Shamu Rocks.
They roped off the splash zone area and already people started to line up so that they could get right down the front. They also roped off an area near where I sat which was for people who had booked the Shamu Rocks dinner and they were lead to the show about 15 minutes before it started and all got their seats. I did a lot of people watching and Shamu watching while I was waiting and the time passed and the stadium filled up quickly.
There were two Shamus swimming around and one of them was quite playful and kept splashing the crowd and also did a couple of flips out of the water. I got a call from DH to say theyd left the C&S show and were on their way over and they arrived about 5 past 8. Unfortunately DD managed to fall over on the way and had a nasty cut on her hand. I took her to the rest room where she washed it a good few times but it looked sore so wed need to make our second trip to a first aid station in one day.
Shamu Rocks was great and Im glad we made the effort to see it. We were able to make a quick exit out of the stadium but DH wanted to walk over the bridge and stopped to take some photos so we were overtaken by a lot of the crowd. We made our way to Kraken which, luckily for us had been experiencing some technical difficulties so the was hardly any line. DS and DD went on and while they were on the ride it experienced more technical difficulties - I had visions of them hanging upside down but they were out on a flat bit of the track. They were probably stuck for about 5 minutes but they still said it was a great ride. DDs ride photo was another classic and I felt really sorry for the boys next to her.
We went over to Altantis and I walked them on then went to wait by the exit. They must be jinxed today as this ride also experienced technical difficulties while they were on it.
DS got soaked but as we were leaving the park it didnt matter. We stopped by first aid which was over by the Stingray pool and the medic cleaned up DDs cut and put a couple of plasters on plus she gave me some spare for tomorrow (Were set for life with all the plaster I got today).
We made our way home up with I-4, which in the dark looked like the end scene of Soarin when you fly at night. We got back to the villa just after 10pm and after a couple of cold drinks went to bed.
