Wednesday 8th August

Today’s plan is a trip to the Mall at Altamonte Springs and Build-a-Bear so with that in mind we set off just after half 9 and headed up the I-4 to the Altamonte Mall. It was easy enough to find and we went in through Barns and Nobel bookstore. We had a mooch around and I tried on a few pairs of sunglasses. I really liked a pair of Gucci ones but still wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend that much, I also liked a pair of Oakley’s which were a bit cheaper so I might get those when we are in Universal.

It was getting on for just after 11 and the troops were hungry so they got something in McD’s while DH and I had a Starbucks coffee. There were actually 3 Starbucks outlets here so you’d never go thirsty. We noticed that there were about 12 officers from the Altamonte Springs Police Department in the food court all having coffee and donuts. This mall must be one of the safest places in Orlando, either that or there was a mini crime wave going on while they were all here.

Suitably refreshed we carried on and found Build a Bear and DS & DD’s bears got visitors tags. The kids picked some new outfits for their bears includi9ng a really cool Harley Davidson Bikers jacket for DS’s bear and we signed up for their loyalty scheme which gives you a point for each $$ spent.

We were going to see the Movie Underdog so we walked over to the AMC theatre. The movie had started 10 minutes before but as there are always loads of adverts we took a chance and went in. They were still showing the adverts so we were OK. The movie was good and we all laughed. It was just after 2pm when we came out and we had another mooch about the mall. We didn’t really buy anything else so we set off for the Super Target near the mall of Millennia. There we got a backpack and (another) lunch box for DS and a few small bits and bobs. We also went to the Old Navy where we got loads of stuff in the sale - I think the most expensive thing cost $3.50. We were too pooped to go into the Mall so we set off for home stopping at Sweet Tomatoes for dinner.

The food was great as usual and we left stuffed. We made a quick stop at Office Max where DD got a pink cheetah backpack. Once home the kids went swimming and DH & I chilled.

I had a headache so I didn’t fancy going back out to Seaworld tonight so I caught up on the trippies and some washing and we did our usual chilling and watching some TV.

Tomorrow - Typhoon Lagoon (at last)
