Day 23 - The Florida Mall for a Meet and 1900 Park Fair
As the days go on we seem to be getting more and more tired, we definitely had more energy at the start of the holiday. I was up at around half 7 today but didnt see DH until 9am and the kids didnt get up until just before quarter to 10. We had breakfast and then set off for some shopping. First up was Super Target at Hunters Creek, we only got a few bits and Bobs and had a lovely Starbucks coffee for DH & I while DD had a Strawberry Frappiccino. We then carried on to the Florida Mall but before we went in we stopped at Sports Authority which is close by. DH got some Treva closed in sandals for $60 and I got a pair of Treva sandals for myself, they were reduced from $60 down to $34 but as we bought DHs sandals I got them for half that price, so they only cost $17.99.
We then stopped at Toys R Us where DS got some Yu-Gi-Oh cards and a game for the Nintendo DS. DH then dropped us off at the Florida Mall and headed off to boy toy heaven in the form of all the computer shops. I tortured the kids with a quick wizz round J C Pennys as they were having yet another sale. I bought some really comfy slippers, which are so nice I am going to get another pair when we go back next time.
It was getting near 1pm and as we were meeting Margaret (Maggs) at 2pm we went to the food court to feed the hungry troops. We eventually found a table and I asked this nice American family to keep an eye on DS and DD while I went to get the food. I was able to see them from where I was but if the kids thought the American family was checking that they were OK then they were less likely to mess about. I came back with plain pasta for DS and then went to get chicken and rice for DD & I. Just as I got back to the table Margaret came up and said she knew it was us as soon as she spotted DS eating his pain pasta.
She got a table very close to us and I sat with her for a while once we had finished as DS & DD were engrossed in the Nintendo DSs. I had deliberately saved two new games for today as I knew they would be concentrating on the new games, which would give Margaret and I a chance to talk. She had done some shopping and got herself a few good bargains including a lovely Kipling bag. She also got some decedent face cream
The food court was getting busy so we made out way to the coffee shop (where we had actually arranged to meet) first having a quick look in a computer game shop where Margarets DS pointed out some games to DD that she might like. I had to prise DS away from the Game Cube and he really wasnt happy about leaving. We also stopped in a Dylans Sweet shop where Margaret kindly bought some sweets for DS and DD. We got our coffees and headed upstairs to the seating area which every time I have seen it has been empty, but this time it was mobbed. We got one table with 3 seats and we stood for a while until two tables together became free and we moved to these. We had a great chat and Margaret has two lovely children who are a credit to her.
DH came back from Computer shop heaven at around half 2 but didnt get anything except a universal charger for my phone (we discovered once we were here that my charger wont work in the US) and he also bought 2 DVDs for the kids. We chatted for another little while then left to drop Margaret and crew off at the Festival Bay Mall. On the way back to the car we stopped at Auntie Anns Pretzel place which Margaret informed us were offering free pretzels today We did a quick restroom stop and then got into the car. Margarets DS sat in the back and helped DS and DD with a game they had bought. We dropped them off at the Mall and said our good-byes. It was great meeting them and I hope that we can meet up again another time. We took a photo but DH had the bright idea of getting us all to stare into the sun for the photo and not telling us when he was taking it
It was getting on for 4pm and our ADR at 1900PF was for 7pm. We knew that if we went back to the room for any length of time the kids would not want to go out again so we through wed kill some time in the Wal-Mart on the SR535. We were going to get DD a new stylus for her Nintendo DS, which she managed to loose at the Florida Mall. We spent about $60 here and it wasnt until we were back in the car that we realised that we hadnt even looked for the stylus.
We dropped all our shopping off at home and DD popped in to get changed into her Jasmine outfit for dinner. We drove to the GF and the sky was getting very dark. We stopped for gas at the Hess Station and it was $2.88 per gallon. We got to the GF just after 6pm and by the time we had a look round I decided to check in early.
We got a pager and were seated about 15 minutes later. We really enjoyed this buffet and had a much nicer experience than when we came here for breakfast two years ago. Our server was lovely and there was a great choice of food. We saw Cinderella, her two mice and Prince Charming: DD had a great time with the mice as they were getting her to stand in different poses like they were
The Fairy Godmother was out side but neither DS or DD could be bothered to see her. We left 1900PF and drove home, DH got started on the packing as we are moving to Vero on Monday and only want to have a small bag there for the last few days. He finished around 10pm then it was time for bed.
Tomorrow - we gave the kids the choice and they picked Blizzard Beach. Dinner is the Cape May buffet at the Beach Club
