Tinks Summer 2006 Tour – Day 2 Chilling and Shopping

Cast

Me - 44 Chief planner loves all things Disney
DH - 50 Designated driver can’t wait for Vero Beach
DS – 9 Hunting for Yu-Gi-Oh Cards (again)
DD – 8 Minnie’s number 1 fan also loves Vero Beach

Saturday 29th July

DD, DH & I were all awake at 4:30am so I made coffee (or I tried to but the coffee machine wasn’t working.) Trying not to do an impression of the Incredible Hulk as I needed a coffee fix I remembered I had taken a couple of sachets of instant from the hotel so we had these instead. We chatted - looked at the view and watched some TV. DS was sound asleep and didn’t wake up until 7am. We were starving so we decided to go to Golden Corral and got there just as it opened at half 7. There was a good choice and I drank gallons of the fresh O/Juice. The check came to $26 plus tip.

We went to Publix to get some groceries - mainly coke, milk, fresh lemonade, fruit, coffee and snacks. We managed to spend $110 but the stuff should last us for a good few days. By now it was around 10am so we came back to the villa for a swim. I called the management company to report the faulty coffee machine and they said they would sort it out for us. The pool was a bit smaller than the one we had last year but it was still fun and the separate Jacuzzi was nice.

We probably only spent an hour or two by the pool as we were still feeling the effects of yesterday. We came in and the kids chilled watching TV while I typed up some of the trip report and DH nearly fell asleep on the sofa. We were still full from breakfast so didn’t bother with lunch and headed out again mid afternoon to Super Target on the 192.

We spent a couple of hours here and I took advantage of the tax free weekend to get the kids new backpacks and lunch boxes for school. We also got some other bits and bobs and managed to spent $135.00 which I thought was quite restrained. DS found some Yu-Gi-Oh cards and some Spongebob Lego while DD got two glitter My Little Ponies so they were both happy. DS & DD were getting tired so we stopped at Starbucks for a couple of Latte’s for DH & I and soft drinks for the kids. We didn’t want to go back to the villa and it was a bit early for dinner. We were going to go to LBV factory outlets but couldn’t face walking from shop to shop in the heat so decided to try the Walmart on the 535. It is much bigger than Super Target (although ST is our favorite) We got a couple of more bits and bobs and managed to spend another $113. It was getting on for 5pm and we were too tired to go far so we went back to the Golden Corral. Dinner was fine and the check came to $34 plus tip. We had 2 really funny servers and they were laughing and joking with all the customers in their area. We left there and came back to the villa where there was a brand new coffee machine outside the front door. This was good news as I had no instant left and had forgotten to buy some. We were all still tired so we watched a bit of TV and went to bed by 9pm

Tomorrow AK and our first ride on EE.

Glad there will be coffee in the morning!

I thought it was just me that popped out for a pint of milk and came back a lot lighter :teeth:

LOL - I just can't resist the lure and always spot something that you just can't get here in Ireland :woohoo:

A nice relaxing first day, sounds like it was just what you needed.
