Hey Kristen!! Those are great purchases from ON! Super cute! OMG!! I got those same exact shorts!! And I feel the same way about shorts! I HATE shorts!! But I got those shorts and they’re perfect! I used them at IOA and they were sooo comfy! Can’t wait to see more!

Hi ladies! I just got all caught up and wanted to say hello! You guys are going to have an amazing trip... My first WDW trip isn't going to be until NEXT YEAR! Lol, I'm excepting a trip report to keep me entertained until I get to go ;) And I loooove the VS yankee's shirt! I'll have to check the one here out, hopefully they have it!

Our St. Louis weekend:

June 18, 2010-
We woke up bright and early. About an hour and half into the drive, we stopped at a Bob Evans for breakfast. Then, it was back on the road. We were almost to St. Louis when we ran into traffic. It wouldn’t have been as bad, but there was road construction everywhere! I was texting our family friends to let them know we were close because they live nearby and were meeting us for lunch. Getting into St. Louis…

THE ARCH!:

We always stay at a hotel right by the Arch, which is also close to Busch Stadium. That means we’re pretty much in walking distance of everywhere we want to go, except Union Station. We pulled up to the hotel and Dad ran in to get us checked-in. We were surprised because our room was ready! I texted our family friends and they were getting ready to leave their house and would call us when they got close. We found a parking spot, unloaded the car, and got settled into our room. Not too much later, our friends called, so we went down to the lobby to meet them. Our lobby has these neat statues of Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea:

When our friends showed up, we gave them hugs and started walking to this bar and grill near Busch Stadium called Hot Shots. Our waitress was kind enough to get a pic of all of us:

We seriously sat there and talked for a good 3 hours. Then, we headed back to our hotel and they headed to their car to get out of town before the game traffic started coming in. We went up to the room, got ready for the game, and headed back downstairs and to Busch Stadium…of course, Dad and Sis had to mess around on our luggage cart while they waited for the elevator. (Mom and I opted for the stairs the whole trip!):

Almost to the Stadium!:

stlouismom10004.jpg

We didn’t have to wait too long before they opened up the gates. Of course, we walked around and checked out the shops and see what we wanted to eat. I, of course, had to have one of the famous ball game hot dogs. SO good. Then, we headed up to our seats…and here was our view- behind home plate-upper deck!:

We were playing the Oakland A’s:

Back in our other “happy place” besides WDW. Can you tell Sis is excited?!:

Of course, we Cards fans think we are awesome, haha:

Cards legend Lou Brock was there celebrating his birthday!:

I love nighttime at the Stadium:

Colby’s back up to bat…We’re winning 6-4!:

WE WON!:

After the game, we were TIRED from the heat and the drive. We headed back to the room, happy we won and happy to be back in St. Louis.

June 19, 2010:

We woke up and headed down to the lobby for the wonderful breakfast that they serve. After eating, we headed to the car and drove over to Union Station to do some shopping and check out the Fudgery.

stlouismom10006.jpg

When we were done there, we headed back to the hotel to park our car. Then, we walked down to the Arch.

One of the streets right down by the Arch was flooded!:

Sis snapped this pic of Fiancé and I as we were catching up to her and Mom and Dad, haha:

The back of my new Victoria’s Secret Cards shirt:

While everyone else started walking, Fiancé and I had to run up and touch the Arch:

Then, we walked down to Laclede’s Landing to eat lunch. Even though it felt like a billion degrees outside, we really wanted to eat out at one of the tables because it’s so beautiful down there. We checked out the menu of Hannegan’s and decided to eat there. Our waiter was nice enough to get a pic of all of us:

Our view of the Arch from our table:

stlouisak10061.jpg

The food here was SO good. We will definitely be coming back. After lunch, we headed back to our hotel, got ready for the game, then walked over to “our” park, which is not too far from the Stadium either.

stlouismom10020.jpg

stlouismom10021.jpg

Then, we walked through the Hilton hotel to check out the lobby because Mom and Dad stayed there on part of their honeymoon and this was an anniversary trip. Then, we had to check out the Air Force plane they had there. While Fiancé was up there checking out the inside, of course a recruiter was right up there with him trying to get him interested in joining.

stlouisak10066.jpg

stlouisak10065.jpg

After he was done drooling, we headed to the Stadium. As we were walking around and ended up by the outfield, we realized that the Cards were having batting practice! So we decided to watch for a bit. Albert comes up to bat and hits one right at us. My dad ALMOST had the ball, but another guy comes jumping in and practically leaps on my dad to get it. My dad was not letting another homerun slip away. After Albert was done, Matt Holliday started batting. After a few hits, he hits a homerun right at us! Dad follows it the whole way to us and goes after it and got it! So, we made sure Mom tucked the ball safely away in her purse for the rest of the trip. I texted everyone I knew that would care that we just got a homerun ball- even Kristen who’s not a Cards fan, haha! Then, we started heading to our seats and I was craving nachos, so I got those right before we sat down.

stlouismom10027.jpg

And a few minutes later…dark clouds started rolling in! And then a few minutes after that, it started pouring and they pulled the tarp out over the field. Great. I was SO mad.

stlouisak10068.jpg

Thankfully, it didn’t last too long and the game started!

Albert!:

stlouisak10073.jpg

It was a really close game….long story short- we won!

stlouisak10081.jpg

After the game, we were NOT ready to leave. How could the second game of the trip already be over?! This meant we were leaving the next morning. We love it in St. Louis. So, we just stood there for awhile and let the crowds clear out.

stlouismom10028.jpg

Finally, we managed to leave, haha. We headed back to our hotel and went to this restaurant called Max and Erma’s at our hotel. We weren’t hungry for a lot of food, but decided on a few appetizers to share. We sat and talked and enjoyed our last night. Then, we headed upstairs to bed.

June 20, 2010:

Father’s Day! We told Dad Happy Father’s Day the second we all woke up. We got ready and packed, then headed down to breakfast in the lobby before heading home…goodbye St. Louis…we love you!!

WHat a huge update on your St. Louis trip!! The arch never looks so big until you're actually UP there touching it!! It's HUGE!!

What a great way to spend Father's Day- and Happy Anniversary to your mom and dad!!!

Your trip is only a little over 2 weeks away!! It sure is coming quickly!

Love the trip to St. Louis. John and I have been talking about taking the girls up there to see the zoo and some other stuff. If we decide to I'll be asking you where you stayed and for other advice.

Fun family time! :)

I have heard rumors that you can actually go up into that arch....

and live to tell about it. ;)

Not me!
I've seen the little thing that takes you up. :scared1:

St. Louis is so beautiful! It looked like you had a lot of fun. The arch looks amazing...I saw Cake Boss last night and the baker had to design a cake replicating the St. Louis skyline. It was funny watching him trying to bend six pipes to get one into the right shape of the arch. :rotfl:

Love your update on your trip to St. Louis (even if I'm not a Cards fan ;)). I haven't been to St. Louis since our son was considering going to Washington University seven years ago (and prior to that is when my best friend moved there and she had her first child who is now 25 -- so that was probably 22 years ago).

Thanks Jill. The girls would love the zoo! We've been there many times. I'd love to help you out!

Love the St. Louis update! It looks like you had a great time!

Thanks! We did!

Ugh, I saw that elevator thing you ride in too and said 'NO WAY!' Dad and Sis and Fiance have gone up on previous trips while me and Mom gladly waited for them. haha

Mom was just telling me about the Cake Boss episode! I was so mad I missed it. She said it was neat.

It was a fun weekend!

What a fun weekend in St. Louis!!

Busch Stadium looks really nice. I love how they mow the arch into the outfield grass.

And I LOVE your VS Cardinals shirt. SO CUTE!! But I am incredibly jealous because they don't make one for my Indians. Why do I have to root for a team that hasn't been very good in, like, 10 years? :rotfl:
