--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, remember how back when I did the update on Thursday we were supposed to be headed to the Yankee game that night? (some of you who are on facebook with me may know this story but I'm going to tell it anyway lol) Unfortunately our plans got a little sidetracked...Chris has been having some bad, sharp stomach pains lately. Finally Wednesday he went to the doctor and had blood work and xrays done. The regular doctor told him to go have an ultrasound done the following day. So Thursday morning he went and had the ultrasound done. At around 3:30 (I was leaving work at 4) he sends me a text the doctor called him and wanted him to go see a surgeon the next day  His pancreatic enzymes were all off. Well Chris works Fridays (all weekend actually) so I said to call the doctor back and see if he could wait until Tuesday. So he and the doctor played phone tag for a little while and then when I left work at 4 I called Chris. He said the surgeon's office had just called him and they wanted him to head to the ER right now to see the surgeon  That was the end of the Yankee game plans but obviously getting Chris better was priority. So to the ER we went. After SEVEN hours in the ER (another fiasco in itself which is just too long to type on here) Chris was admitted and I finally left to go home and get some sleep. It was midnight by then. An hour and 15 mins later I get a text from Chris that he was finally in a room. Now it was 1:15 am and we had gotten to the ER at 5pm!!! Anyway, he spent Thursday night and Friday night there and was discharged yesterday at around 4:30. They ran lots of tests and made him not eat for 24 hours. Once he ate again he realized that the pain comes after eating. His pancreatic enzymes are still off but not to the point of being dangerous so he has to go to the surgeon tomorrow morning for a special test on his gallbladder. They think one of the bile ducts is blocked, causing the pain. Bottom line is he may have to have his gallbladder out. He's only 25 yrs old! :sad2: Anyway, this has kept me away from the boards since Thursday morning. I worked Friday then went right to the hospital and same thing yesterday. We just want to know what's wrong and if surgery is necessary! Luckily this happened far enough in advance of our trip :thumbsup2 Thank you for everyone who has known what was going on from my facebook (Tink, Dawn, Heather, MeMom, Angie etc.) for your concern. It's not super serious but still scary when someone you love is in the hospital!!

On a better note, Tink's sister had her prom yesterday and her high school graduation today! Hopefully Tink will be on within the next day or two and can share some pictures with us! :goodvibes

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone :)

i'm so glad that everything seems to be getting better for chris! poor guy! keep me updated on whatever happens! jake & i are thinking about him!

Oh my, hope Chris is feeling better soon! That is scary.

And congrats to tinkgurl's sister on graduating!

HI! First (tink) I can not believe I did not know about this PTR!! What a fun story! I am so glad you two will be able to meet.

I read your last post and I really hope that Chris is feeling better  Going to the ER is NO fun!! I am sure he will feel much better now, though.

SO excited to read along popcorn::

Hope you guys get some answers tomorrow and Chris has a quick and easy recovery. Did you see Trent's facebook post about the 5 minute ER wait and getting a fastpass for later? When I saw that I thought of the long wait you guys had.

Ahhh, Kristen, I hope Chris is okay! I can't imagine how scary that must be!
ETA: I added you as a friend on FB!

I just got caught up and read about Chris -- I hope you guys get some answers soon, that's so scary, I hope he gets better soon! My mom actually had to have her gallbladder out back in September and she had a pretty quick recovery, so I hope that it is the same for Chris if it comes to that

I'm so glad that you are on the road to getting some answers about what is wrong with Chris. I'm glad that he listened to you & went to the doctor! Most guys hate going to the doctor & won't go. Please keep us posted on how he is doing.

Tink - yay for your sister. This is a big weekend for her!

Just went through the whole gall bladder thing with my dad last June. NIGHTMARE!! Same exact thing with the ER- hours and hours of watching him writhe in pain- FINALLY got the offending organ taken out, and he's like a new man.

Hope you get some answers and solution soon!!!

hey girls! Sorry I've been MIA! So sorry to hear about Chris! Hopefully everything goes ok...my thoughts and prayers are with you guys!! :flower3:

Okay-I never post, but I have to tell you that the surgery is absolutely necessary. A couple of years ago, I had the same thing happen to me. I got a stone caught in my duct, which gave me full-blown pancreatitis. My numbers were "through the roof". I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and on a feeding tube for a week after I left. I didn't eat anything but sips of water and ice chips for 3 weeks straight! At the time, my system was so screwed up that I couldn't even get my gall bladder out until weeks later, once everything settled down. Tell him to have the surgery as soon as possible-don't delay at all. The surgery (compared to the pancreatitis) is a breeze.

So happy you finally are getting some answers for Chris! What a scary time!

Lots of well-wishes are being sent your way :)

Hey girlies!

Love the new updates with your plans! :) yall are so cute

Kristen - I do hope Chis is feeling better... I know what it's like to have pain after eating, if I've never told you what happened to me last year... it was pretty interesting! You're such a good girlfriend for staying with him for so long :) awww. especially in the waiting room - yuck! that's love! lol ;)

thinking of chris and hoping you guys get some answers soon! i'm sure he'll be over this in no time. he's a tough guy! he's in my prayers though!
