Tinkerbell Half Race Deferral

Good morning everyone!

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Race Deferral? I am unable to run the half at Tinkerbell (but still doing the 10k ) and am thinking of deferring the race since I can't run the half. Only problem is, I am not sure whether I will be able to make the Tinkerbell half in 2015. When you defer, do they refund your money and then you re-register and re-pay the $50 (or whatever it is) deferral fee at the time? Or do you they charge you the deferral fee without reimbursing your money.

I know this sounds like a funny question, but just wondering if I would get some of my money back by deferring and then could decline the 2015 registers. I wish you could transfer bibs and I would give this to someone.

I know this is a silly questions, and realistically, the answer is probably that you don't get your money back. I'm just trying to NOT be out the registration money.

I deferred the Dumbo Double Dare and I had to pay for 2014 before I got refunded for 2013. Sorry! I know that's not what you want to hear

I deferred the DL half. Had to pay a deferral fee and pay for the 2014 race. I decided the good part is that I've locked in a 2014 price?

You don't have to do an official transfer to sell your bib, though. I know it's technically not okay, but for a race fee that high, I'm willing to break the rules.

It's on the website under the registration section for the race you are signed up for. For Tinker Bell it says, "•If you are currently registered for the 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon you may defer your registration to the Tinker Bell Half Marathon in 2015, subject to availability, on or before December 19, 2013.
•Deferral requests will be assessed a $45 processing fee if completed by November 20, 2013. Deferral requests will be assessed a $70 processing fee if completed between November 21 and December 19, 2013. In order for your deferral to be processed, you must submit the original credit card tom complete the process. Deferrals are not allowed for Disney's Family Fun 5K or runDisney Kids Races. For more information or to defer your registration, please click here."
