Okay, I've decided to start my planning journal.
Me - Lisa - 27 Middle School Coach/PE Teacher
DF - Travis - 35 Recently Self-Employed Mrs. Bairds (Bread) Salesman

How we met: July 9, 2001. I moved to the area of Houston, TX we live in now to get away from the drama of my (loser)ex. I was two months pregnant with my son at the time. DF was my boss at the Kroger Grocery Store :rolleyes1 and was actually mad that his boss hired a pregnant girl that would be on maternity leave during the holidays. Yeah! Thanks for the support! At the time he was married to a lovely woman that had him swimming in debt and refused to get another job - Cause she didn't go to college to work two jobs!:scared1: ANYWAYS! He and I had a good friendship, but that is about it. Our store got closed, and we were transferred to different stores. We didn't talk for about a year, but I was still friends with his sister. In May 2005 she got married I was in her wedding, and obviously he was there...and divorced! Yippee! So soon after that we officially became US.

The engagement: We were on our second trip to WDW in November 2006. Our second night there we went to Liberty Tree Tavern and then to Wishes. Travis had been picking on me all weekend about my desire to get married, engaged, etc. He would get down on his knee, look up at me, and tie his shoe. pirate: ARGGGGHH! Anyways, during Wishes, he asked me what my wish was...duh! Keep up here buddy! After a few minutes, he said, 'Well I know there are about a million ways I could do this at Disney World, but...'
At this point I was looking in his direction to say Knock it off! and he was getting down on his knee with this super cool box (it had a light in it!), not to mention this super cool ring!

He did really good! 1.27 carats Perfect Color! (D...he's really proud of that!)set in Platinum. He said I needed a big diamond, cause as you can see, I have long fingers!

Our Wedding Day: We will be getting married at 2:30 PM on Tuesday March 18, 2008 at Sea Breeze Pointe. My son (whom Travis is adopting after the wedding :yay: ) will be Travis' best man, and my sister is my MOH. Our immediate family due to remarriage of parents, and marriage and procreation of our siblings is HUGE...and takes up the remaining 17 slots exactly! I told all sisters they aren't allowed to have anymore babies before the wedding! :rotfl: They thought it was funny, but I was serious! Therefore, we will be having an At Home Reception after the wedding - no ideas for that at all yet...any ideas? :confused3

The Dress:
This is my dress. I love it...It's from Alfred Angelo. It was the first dress I tried on that I didn't feel like I was waiting for a flood in (I'm 6'2"...so that has been a life constant! )It also covers up my 10 lb. baby boy, c-section screwed up my ab muscles belly!
DSC00689.jpg

It is Ivory, which works best for my casper like skin! :)

The hair: Courtesy of the recent thread, I found my hair. DF is shorter than me, so I wanted something up, but not on top of my head making me taller.
hair6.jpg

The cake: Want this style, but with silver mickey's imprinted...not sure if I can do it yet, but we'll see!

The Bouquet: So pretty!

Other wedding stuff:
Hair and Makeup - Ana from Beaute Speciale
Photography: Randy Chapman
Officiant: Reverend Jack Day
WC: Tanis Armstrong

I think that's all for tonight...gotta pack DF's lunch he leaves for work at 1 AM
Oh! I added my sweet puppies names to my signature last night, but I'm going to post their puppy training Graduation pictures now! Kida is our Yellow Labrador Retriever, she was born November 20, 2006. Koda is our Chocolate Labrador Retriever, he was born January 17, 2007. Yes, eight weeks apart, and we got them both at five weeks old, eight weeks apart. I don't advise getting two puppies at the same time relatively, but at least we're almost out of the puppy stage totally for a long while!

Thanks Maggie! I never thought that I would have such a wonderful man in my life, let alone a wonderful man that would love my son as his own!

I realized I forgot to include a picture of the boys...:rolleyes1 this was my son's preschool graduation this May...aren't they so handsome!

I'm waiting for my camera battery to charge so I can take more pics...I'll update later tonight...right now I gotta paint our house some more!

What a great story! I love your dress, and it looks like your plans are coming along nicely. My SIL is getting married at SBP on May 14th, so we'll be there just before you.

More please!

your son & df are adorable!!! & your puppies are SO cute!!!

your dress is stunning..i have fair skin to....you look beautiful...i dont see casper skin....think liv tyler skin....tans can be overrated & dangerous;)

& i dont see a pouch....you look great...what i tell people about "baby" weight..."it was well worth the investment";)

i think what you have so far is looking great...cant wait for more!!

I am so excited to see you started a planning journal! You have such a cute story :goodvibes and what handsome men, your son is adorable. It sounds like your DF has a good sense of humor even if he was torturing you with possible proposal situations. I had to laugh at them but I'm sure it was driving you nuts - I know I would have been going crazy. Now where did he get a ring box that lights up? That's so perfect for a firework proposal. I finally saw Wishes for the first time and was so impressed with it. What a perfect way to propose.

You look gorgeous in your dress and the hair style you picked out will look great :). I went with an ivory shade too and no one noticed even though the guys were still wearing white shirts.

I can't wait to see the rest of your plans! :yay:

Thanks for reading Maggie, Denise, and Cori!
I'm feeling kind of down today...I feel like I'm the only person that is excited about this wedding. Should I feel bad for feeling this way? Should I feel this way at all, or what? My sister is my MOH, she's 4 yrs. older than me and has been married for 8 years now...dang I didn't realize it had been that long til I typed it! Anyways, I was her MOH, and tried to be involved as much as I could...granted I was in college and didn't have a husband and two kids, but no one talks to me about the wedding. It's kinda frustrating...sorry ladies for venting, I just don't understand how anyone could not be excited or want to be involved in the planning process of a Disney Wedding!

it's been said here over and over again - the MOST important people here are you and your husband to be and your son! and I know you are all excited! I do understand how you feel because I felt the same way about our wedding - but there was alot going on in our families at the time and I figured everyone would perk up eventually. now our wedding is less than 4 months away :cheer2: and the families are really starting to get excited. I think for everyone else it was just so far in the future and well, life has a way of going on...

I really don't think your sister is not excited - give it some time. in the meantime, come here and tell us what you're planning and we'll happily cheer you on! :yay:

Thanks Kelly...he got the ring and the box at Robbins Bros. The girl that sold him the ring was super excited about the box when he told her he would propose during the fireworks...she said the box would be perfect! It was...the light made it even more BAM! :) I need to find the box so I can take a picture of the ring in it...the light was starting to die though - I thought it was cute, so I kept opening it! :rolleyes1 DF laughed at me, cause mainly he did the same thing right after he got it!

Thanks for the support Michelle, I hope you're right! and I'm glad to hear that your family is starting to get excited!
I guess it makes sense that I'm so excited - since I've waited almost 28 years for this day, and about 6 years ago I thought for sure no one would love me as much as I wanted them to since I had a child. But DF proved me completely wrong, and that's what excites me more than anything! Thanks again for the support!

Okay, here are some more pictures of things I have so far.
My sister will be wearing a dress from her wedding (her going-away dress), it's from 8 years ago, so we were both excited it still fit - after two kids even! I thought it would be a good way to save money, she only wore it twice after all...plus it goes with the color scheme.

Color scheme for the wedding - Navy, Claret Red, and Silver.
Here's her dress:
DSC01359.jpg

Here is the dress I bought for our At Home Reception, my HS reunion in August, and my mom's AHR (she's getting married in Vegas in September)...a 3-in-1!! And the shoes.
AHRDress.jpg

AHRShoes.jpg

The shoes aren't exactly what I want, but I wear a sie 12-12.5 in Women's so my options are truly limited!!! :sad2: No shoe fetish for me! Which further explains the next picture! I am wearing Ballet Slippers for the wedding...hey, they fit, they'll be comfortable and flat...remember DF is shorter than me...so anything to make me "short" is good!
DSC01364.jpg

Bags I got for all the mom's coming - my mom, step-mom, FMIL, my sister, and DF's two sisters (and one for me too! )
DSC01365.jpg

The reversible inside - magnet closure...super cool!

Bags I got for DF's two nieces:

I decided that I just really didn't want to get "normal" wedding stationary, so I found this cool website...www.papersource.com. They sell all kinds of cool stuff...IMO, so I bought Sapphire Blue Cards, Red Envelopes for thank you cards. Red Cards, Navy Envelopes, and Silver small (response) cards for the Announcements/AHR. Here's a picture of what I've done for the Thank You Cards...
DSC01360.jpg

Thanks KellyJo for the inspiration on these! I thought something non-specific wedding would be better to have left over, than the typical ones with your names on it...found DF's leftovers from his first wedding in the garage a couple weeks ago :headache: threw those out really quick!

Anyways, I'm just starting to work on the program fans...I'll post pics of those soon...Thank you Karen for sending me that template! Life Saver!

Everything looks great so far! I love that Mickey beach bag, bought one myself a few weeks ago.

You look beautiful in that dress by the way!princess:

Can't wait to read more!

Lisa, you look beautiful in your dress! And the Thank You cards are very pretty!

About your sister/family not being excited, don't worry, I'm sure she is. MY sister is 6 years older than I am and she is the Disney Powerhouse in the family. I was the one who, although, I liked Disney, I wasn't interested or excited about getting married here...until I saw all the fun and cool stuff and I saw all the brides TR's here, then I got excited for mine too! ...then everything changed...

so....my point is, that when your sister starts getting more invlolved-and it gets closer to decision time, you might be surprised how excited she'll be for you.

...and WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! so please tell us all about your plans!!! We want to hear all about it!!!!

I love how your thank you notes turned out! You're making me think that I should return the ones I bought and make those :).

You look wonderful in your dress! I'm an ivory dress girl too thanks to my skin as well. I love your ring too!

What a cute family! Great pics of your handsome men and adorable puppies!

Your thank you cards look great. While it can be time consuming (but, I've got nothing but time until August! ), making your own invitations, etc. is great in my opinion. Luckily we don't have many to make or my tune might change...

Those bags are awesome! Where did you find them?

Congratulations and I look forward to more of your PJ!!

I got those bags from Disneyshopping.com...they were like 8 bucks each...I just bought a bunch of other stuff this past weekend, they were having a huge sale! I got 30 things, and my total was under $200 before shipping! :woohoo:
Thanks for reading ladies, and I'll post more soon...I'm printing something for DF right now, and snuck on :rolleyes1 , but now I gotta get back to painting our living room. I'm gonna post pics of that too, cause I'm working my tail off painting this summer!

Personally I like the shoes :) You should try zappos.com. They seem to have a large selection of sizes! I just ordered some running shoes from them and was really please. plus FREE overnight shipping!

Just wanted to say that everything looks great so far. Our wedding is just a few weeks before yours next year- March 3, 2008. I love that you are wearing ballet slippers. I have danced for years and wanted to wear them too, but my mom is convinced that my feet will be killing me (I have a morning Epcot wedding, brunch, and then a dessert reception that night)... I still think I'm going to wear them at least at the brunch ;)

I've tried Zappos.com, and couldn't find anything non h**ker in my size, plus I had a credit on my paypal account and used it through shoebuy.com. The shoes actually came in today, and they look great, but they have 3" stilleto heels, so I'm gonna have to practice walking in those...I'm definitely not a graceful person :rolleyes1

I am excited about my ballet slippers, I grew up taking dance lessons, and my sister and I always said we'd wear slippers for our weddings to be short...It was kinda a pain to find them in my size, but I got 'em.

Oh! By the way, Randy just put our engagement pics online! They look really good, despite the goofy main characters in the pictures! There are some where I cringe...I need to lose more weight still...but for the most part, out of the 133 pictures online, they look great! :woohoo:

everything looks wonderful ...keep it coming! :yay:
