Tink Talks-Confessions of a Walt Disney World College Program Cast Member

Did the shopping keep the homesickness away? :lmao:
Hopefully your feet will feel better soon, if not try arch supports they helped me. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear register training went well.

Also, just wanted to let you know you may be working with my friend. She just went down for her 4th program, this time for merchandise, and she got Port Orleans. She is about to start training.

I'll PM you.

sounds like a lot of fun. seems like maybe the homesickness is a little better, i hope. i used to get that so bad when i went to new places. even college.

so do you get to go to the parks for free? discount? so lucky!
can't wait to hear more!

Yes, I do get in for free, actually I'm having problems with my ID. I can clock in fine, but for some reason, when I go into the parks, it says access denied.:confused3 I need to go talk to someone about it. Yes the homesickness is getting better. I still am sad every now and then!

ooooooo I miss Property control!!!!

Nicole...Rumor has it if Romans surgery goes well, we may be heading to the WORLD first week of March, just for a quickie trip to tide us over until November!

Yay! I hope his surgery goes well!:grouphug:

It sounds like you're having a great time so far. Do you get a CM discount on food when you eat at places like Pizzafari? Eating in WDW can get sooo expensive! Do you have to wear certain shoes with your costume? I was just thinking that your feet wouldn't hurt so bad if you could wear your Crocs but I don't recall ever looking at a CM's feet so I have no idea if that's allowed!

At Pizzafari we did get a discount, not sure about other places. I have to wear black shoes. I wish I could wear crocs!

Today was stock training. I learned where everything goes and how to properly fold t-shirts! Now my feet really hurt! I'm going to buy some more work shoes soon.

Here's a pic from Tuesday of my roomie and I!

Ok, sounds good.

Love the picture!:thumbsup2

Hey Nicole!!! I'm soooo glad you are having so much fun! All your pictures are so cute.

Is Company D still at Epcot? It was a CM shop that was back sort of behind Mexico.

I used to wear black sketchers at TDS and they were fine, though I imagine they would look a little bulky with your dress. You might try Naturalizer shoes, they are really comfortable!

Just jumping in! Nicole, this is so great that you are sharing your experiences with us all. I would LOVE it if one of my sons did the CP when they are old enough. Sounds like a lot of fun!

We are going to be at POR for one night only (before checking in for the week at BCV) in April. I will look for you in the gift shop!!

I have a question for you! We were at Epcot this past Friday - it was right after the park opened and we saw a group of new cast members being brought out right in front of the center fountain. They were announced over the loudspeaker and we were all encouraged to clap for them (which we did). It was very neat to watch. My question for you is - does EVERY new cast member get to go through this? Or just if you are going to be working at Epcot?

I'm looking forward to reading your reports!

Lee-Ellen
no, that does not happen every park :( I was at MK and during our walk-through we looked like a normal group of college aged guests that were on a walking tour like one you would pay for. At MK they are more "strict" when it comes to being in and out of costume.

At Epcot though, they seem to be a little more open-minded. My one roommate who works on Soarin', at the end of her 5 days of training her manager told her to go sit in the front middle of the ride to test it with guests on it and they went over the loud speaker and told everyone on the ride that Lauren their new CM had just earned her wings and she is going to be riding the ride with you.

I doubt that sorta thing happens at MK very often in front of guests. I'm glad you got to experience that at Epcot though!!

I think it depends on the type of role you have and the type of shoe they require: tennis shoe, boots, mary-janes, etc. At BBB we're allowed to have the "mary-jane" Alice Crocs. Most of the FGIT have sketchers but I attempted those and hated them. I love my crocs and I'm thankful that I can wear them and feel much better after a 13 hour shift!!

SHOPPING! Now that had to make you feel better!!!! Glad you're settling in and having fun! I can't wait to hear more

Hey Megan! You found me! :rotfl: It was great running into you yesterday, I didn't get the bucket though, my roomie did! ;)

Yesterday night my roomies and I went to Pleasure Island, and we had a great time!

Today I went to MGM (it will always be MGM to me!) with my roomies and we had a good time. My ID worked this time, so I hope my ID issue is resolved.

Tomorrow is my final day of training! I have a tour of Port Orleans in the morning.

Hi everyone!

I forgot where I left off!

Okay, on Saturday I had my last day of training, it was a tour of PO. I had never seen the resorts before and I really liked both of them! I think I liked POFQ a little more! Then after that me and my roomies and I went to Epcot where we drank around the world!:rotfl: Then a fellow Diser (HelloKitty86) sent me a text message saying she had arrived in Ft Lauderdale and we decided that I would go down and visit her! On Sunday I drove over there and we had a great time! We watched a movie and went to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. I was so sad when I left yesterday. :( I got lost when I arrived in Orlando, I took I-4 east instead of west like I should have. It was horrible! I was crying because I didn't know where I was going, but then turned around and finally made it back to the apartment. It took a good hour out of my day.

Today was my first day without a trainer. I was putting out stock and giving people lunch breaks. It was a good day. I recieved my shoes today so hopefully my feet will feel better soon!

Joanna- I met Rachael today!
