Tink Talks-Confessions of a Walt Disney World College Program Cast Member

Great TR, I love hearing about the CP experiences. POR and POFQ are great resorts. So sorry to hear about your room mates, I hope you have a great visit with dbf.

I'm in for this one-I've been following another one too. :D

Makes me wish I had done it in college, but unfortunately, I didn't know about it!

I think it depends on the type of role you have and the type of shoe they require: tennis shoe, boots, mary-janes, etc. At BBB we're allowed to have the "mary-jane" Alice Crocs. Most of the FGIT have sketchers but I attempted those and hated them. I love my crocs and I'm thankful that I can wear them and feel much better after a 13 hour shift!!

hey I'm a new cast member ..been working since april 17th

...... they don't like us wearing Tennis shoes ..I'm in the Emporium at magic kingdom .... they want us to wear slipper like shoes ...

I just now found these crocs that look like slippers so maybe if we have to change our shoes i can wear those ....

the shoe type is "crocs Prima Ballet Flat"

also these look like slippers too "Crocs Alice Mary Jane Flat Shoes"

..does anyone wear these shoes now ? and are they comfy ?

... I like it so far .... and all the little girls that dress up as princess are sooo adorable :):)

Nicole,

I was searching for old friend and co-workers from the Disney College Program tonight when I stumbled across your posts: great stuff! I'm a College Program Alumni (survivor - ha) from 1992, and I have tell you that I look back on those days as some of the best of my life! I made great friends and had a wonderful time working there. It was hard at times, and I wanted to go back when I first got there, but it was so worth it in the end! So funny you went to Beaches and Cream, I'm glad that place is still there! We used to go all the time. We also used to call Vista Way "Pissed Away" because we would always spend all our money on stuff. I came home with boxes and boxes of Disney stuff that I still have! It's neat following along with your posts and in some ways I feel like I'm reliving the magic. Glad you're having fun, keep it up, take zillions of pix (I didn't take enough) and keep posting! Would love to email with you sometime about your experiences, so drop me a line if you ever have time!

Best,

Kevin

I wore crocs when I worked at BBB. I know a few girls got told they couldn't wear them but I know a handful of us wore them. I know the one girl for sure that had them had a kind with like little flower wholes in the front but the rest of us just had the normal mary-jane style and I was never told I had to get new shoes. I think they had issues with them bc you can polish them like other shoes, but when you're working 13 hours standing on your feet doing hair, I just wanted something that I wouldn't be dead after work.

After awhile I was like haha I shouldn't kid myself bc after any 13 hour shift you can't move lol. Basically, if it were a shorter shift like 6 or 7 hours I was fine but 12 or 13 hours I was hurting. I tried 4 different kinds of inserts for the shoes and nothing helped but some ppl w/them agreed with me and others were totally fine with them so I dunno? I would still buy them over the sketchers any day bc I hated those :(

oh no! Getting lost is never fun! I still haven't caved and bought a GPS thing...but I swear each time I get lost that I'm going to buy one! I'm glad it all worked out ok.

Hope the new shoes make your feet feel better too:goodvibes

there is a cheaper one out there then the main brands ... its called InVion

I have one and it comes in handy when you are going on trips or going somewhere that you havn't before :)
