Tink Got Me My Very Own Sharpies!- A Surprise Bday TR (3/8 Final Thoughts)

I don't think it will hurt your back but sometimes mine hurt my shoulder a little bit. I will say that my Saddle Up hurt a few times but I would just switch shoulders for a bit and then I felt fine.

The Baggallini is fine and it distributes the weight evenly on my back (with 2 herniated disks...I really hate to be in back pain at WDW). I just want some thing NEW ;)

I soooo enjoyed my Le Cellier last Feb before the dismeet! Poor Aisling all out of sorts on the trip. Hope she got her park on later after dinner!!! :thumbsup2 Great update....love the Vera bag too! Can't we just make one like that??:confused3

Yup, she's definitely not my kid....I still wouldn't have complained about Minnie not signing my book...at 32!!!:rotfl: I would have been in the same position as you I No trip complete without my signatures either And I am 42 Also sorry your Hubby Ill glad to see he is feeling better::yay:

Thank you! Chef Mickey's is a great way to kick off a trip!

It was my fear too! Especially if it was him that had to stay in the room. He was disappointed that we stayed at POP so my arguement about "never being in the room" would have pushed him over the edge if he was stuck in the room all week!

Yup, definitely not the girl I know and love this trip :rotfl2:

Um yes we can make a bag like that one...but mine won't have the little green Vera tag ;) Unless you are talking to Randy and then of course I don't have the ability to make that bag :lmao:

Your meal looked delicious but wow that was a huge amount of potatoes :faint:

How strange that Ash didn't want to eat, hope her appetite improves later :thumbsup2

We only have 2 ADRs for May. So there should be minimal complaints from the peanut gallery about having to *waste* park time eating!

Are you doing the QSDP? Our next trip (after our May one) I plan on doing just a couple of sit down meals. I like the thoughts of just going with the flow and not having an ADR everyday to deal with.

How did DH like the chicken sandwich? We're doing Le Cellier at lunch in May and I'm looking forward to it!

And you know how much us Irish like our potatoes but that was little too much even for us :rotfl2:

Yup. Aisling just is not a fan of TS meals in WDW. If we let her get a meal to go and walk around the park nibbling on it....she'd probably be better off ;)

We aren't doing ANY DDP this trip  First time in like 5 years!

Randy really liked the chicken sandwich. I wish I had tried a bite but after my filet arrived, I only had eyes for that!

Mmmmm! That's what I chose, too! Totally delish!

Wonder who you are going to see (hear) at Eat to the Beat?

Kathy

I hope you saw Davy Jones at the Eat to the Beat concert! :faint::rotfl2:

After stuffing our faces we headed off to Norway to check in for our Kim Possible Mission. Along the way, Aisling remembered the OTHER FPs we had...for Soarin' and demanded that we do that first. Um, nope. That's back in Future World. We are in WS right now. That concept was lost on her. So she started to cry. We promised her that we would definitely ride Soarin but while we are in WS...we should do the two things she wanted to do in WS today. Eventually she relented and off to Norway we went. I was really excited about this because it seemed like such a fun concept. We got our Mission and we were off to....

CHINA (right next door. I thought for sure we were going to get the UK!)

We had a good mission and Aisling really enjoyed it. What I liked was that it got us to look around the pavillion because we NEVER do. So we saw things like this

032.jpg

Aisling did a great job following the clues and was very into "how did they do that"

031.jpg

I think enough people have done the missions to know how they work so this won't be giving away anything

034.jpg

Found ya MONKEY!

Important PSA. This box does not contain a clue. Do not stand there and stare at it and then give up and walk away! You are supposed to put your "cell phone" in there when you are done

036.jpg

But we weren't done. Aisling LOVED the mission. She obviously was going to want to do another wasn't she :confused3

NOPE! One was enough for her. She walked outside of China and played with the puppets for awhile

039.jpg

When we refused to buy her one...she decided that she wanted to go to back to Norway to drop the cell phone off and to ride Maelstrom to cool off.

037.jpg

After the ride, I had my own mission. To get school bread. I had never tried it before and TODAY would be the day.

038.jpg

Despite eating ourselves silly at Le Cellier, that mission had apparently worked up an appetite because Aisling and I polished that thing off pretty quickly. While Aisling and I were eating this yummy goodness, Randy was starting his collection of WS beer mugs. ;) Up first was the Norwegian beer!

It was about this that Aisling remembered that FP for Soarin' again. Again we had to remind her that she had 1 more thing she wanted to do in WS and while we are here....we are going to do it.

Or would we???? The plan for that day was to leave the park no later than 1:30-2, go back to the hotel, swim/change, and head back to Epcot for Eat to the Beat before our dinner ADR. Only one problem. It was already that time. And we were still in the back of the park...And Aisling had that "must-do" on her list in WS...and we were going to be running from Eat to the Beat to our dinner to Illuminations and when would be squeeze in Soarin'???

It was time for mommy and daddy to powow and make some changes to the schedule.

TEASE! :snooty:

I'm glad Aisling liked the KP mission and your pictures of China are wonderful :thumbsup2 I especially like the clay warriors (is that what you call them?) very nice :goodvibes

That school bread looks yummy! I so wanted to try one on our trip but never made it to the bakery in Norway. :sad2: I must have one next time!

Ooohhh, can't wait to hear about the powwow. So intriguing...

Glad she had so much fun! My girls loved their mission, too, but one mission seemed to be enough for them as well.

Ahh. One more Disney treat I've yet to sample! Thanks for doing it for me... ;)

Hey... ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes! Looking forward to discovering what you came up with...

:rotfl: Did YOU do that?!

TEASE! :snooty:

Yes...I may have done that! I was convinced it had something to do with the mission so I kept staring at it!

Thank you! The school bread was really yummy. It's kinda like a Boston Creme donut with coconut on the top. And no calories :rolleyes1

Thanks about the pictures. I take all kinds of random pictures but it works well to tell the story on a TR!

You should try the school bread. It was worth it (and big enough to share so good use of a snack credit)

More goodies coming up!

Well...Randy and I had to make a tough choice at this point. We both REALLY wanted to see the Eat to the Beat performance and ride Soarin. We also wanted Aisling to finish her to-do list. And Randy really wanted to work on his beer mug collection ;) But we had that darn ADR to contend with. In the end, the ADR lost. We made the decision to just stay at Epcot and finish out the day. So there would be no Rose and Crown dinner for us and no Illuminations. But we figured that we could get everything else accomplished.

So on we moved in WS with a particular activity in mind. Aisling had decided before the trip that she HAD to pick a pearl in Japan with her spending money. And Randy and I were perfectly happy with that idea because it's not a junk souvie.

She really loved the activity and it made that long trek around WS a little easier. (Although I could have used the stroller this time. I was in some major pain at this point...but a little medicine took care of that relatively quickly)

She ended up with a decent sized pearl

Aisling's favorite part was the gong and when everyone cheered for her!!!

I had read on TRs about the Cinderella Carriages but and thought that they sold them at WDW. I know I read about people buying them on Ebay but figured they were just cheaper on Ebay. And since this was on Aisling's dime...who cares??? ;) :rotfl:

They do NOT sell them. Luckily, Aisling find a setting she did like so we left it to be set and looked around the Japanese pavillion. (Randy was off continuing her beer sampling ;)). Aisling was thrilled to see the Happy Cat things. My supervisor at work is a season ticket holder for the Red Sox and traveled with the team to Japan when they played there. She brought Aisling some Happy Cat things back with her. I think Aisling thought she was the only one in the world with Happy Cat items ;)

After we looked around, we decided to head back to the American Pavillion. When we had walked by before, I was slightly concerned because there were actually people lined up already for Eat to the Beat. There was still like 2 1/2hours until the first show at this point!!! Um no thank you. When we went back after the pearl picking, the line hadn't grown too much longer thank goodness. Guess there were only a few crazy people who wanted good seats. We decided we had enough time to go see the American Adventure which we had NEVER seen :scared1: Sadly the Voices of Liberty were not out because I really wanted to see them. But I was excited about seeing the show.

Let me just say. That building is deceptively HUGE. I had no clue the auditorium was that big. When we were waiting to go in, there was a couple- middle aged- standing next to us. They commented on Aisling being so pretty and well behaved. Thank you random strangers. Well I noticed they both had Snow White tshirts on (which for a woman...fine, man kinda different). They then commented on Aisling's Snow White bows. Aisling told them that SW was her favorite princess. Well turns out these people were SW collectors. They travel around collecting SW merchandise and apparently their whole house is decorated in it!!!! They immediately took a Snow White pin out and gave it to Aisling, telling her that SW is not as popular amongst the younger generation, and they were thrilled she was a fan. Thanks again random strangers.

My review of American Adventure was that it was good. But more importantly its a great way to get off your feet and cool off for awhile. OR if you are Aisling....it's a great place to take a nap! That child was OUT! And snoring. LOUDLY! The SW people kept giggling at her. The show was long enough that she was able to really recharge and was a lot happier for the rest of the day.

Or it could have been the sugar that made her happier!

We came out of the American Adventure and Randy decided he needed another drink (you would have thought he would have been TANKED at this point but it was sooo hot and he was downing waters in between so he was fine!). Aisling decided she wanted a funnel cake. I also noted that the Eat to the Beat line was getting longer. So we came up with the plan that Randy would get his drink, run back to Japan and pick up Aisling's necklace, and I would grab a funnel cake and seats.

DO NOT...I repeat do NOT let your 6 year old order a funnel cake on her own if you are not paying attention. At this point, my medicine had kicked in so my mind was less on the pain and more in Disney la la land I guess! Because when the man asked Aisling is she wanted chocolate sauce on her funnel cake- she said yes. And when he asked if she wanted powdered sugar- she said yes. And when he asked if she wanted ICE CREAM she said yes. So THIS is what she walked away with....

Do you KNOW what that is going to turn into on a 90 degree day?!?! :scared1:
