We are staying at the Anaheim Hilton in 6 days! I've heard that if the Timon parking lot is open, it is a very quick walk to the lot, and then you can ride the tram up to the parks. I've also heard this parking lot is not operating while DCA is going through construction.

Is this parking lot open AT ALL right now?

If yes, what time does it open usually? (I know Mickey and Friends is the one normally open for park openings.)

Thanks for any insight you can provide. :thumbsup2

We were there May 7 - 10th and the Timon parking lot was operating while we were there. Unless you are one of the first...oh...300 cars in, you can pay there, but are redirected to the Mickey and Friends to actually park. Because of this, I'm not sure how often the tram to and from Timon runs - I think there are only 1 or 2 operating at any time.

We only got to park in Timon on one day since we were there before the lot opened. The lot will open one hour prior to Disneyland's opening time. So for that day, we arrived at the parking lot around 7:55 and we were in the lot around 8:03 (after waiting in line). At that time, the tram was waiting for us and we did see people using the crosswalk to access the tram to get to the park as well. When we went back to our car later that day, we waited on the tram for a good 10 minutes before we left the loading station since so few people were on the tram - so take this into account when planning for arrival and departure times.

Much of the lot is taken over by the construction, but as of our last trip, the lot was still open for parking, and therefore, the tram was still available. It could change at any time though!

Due to the Expansion of the Disneyland Resort, the Timon Parking Lot, located behind Disney's California Adventure Park, will be closing permanently in a few weeks.

Please rest assured that the Disneyland Resort does have other alternative parking areas available, and will be able to handle this Operational Change.

Please follow all posted signs and directions.

I'm not aware of what they plan to do with the entrance facing the Anaheim Convention Centre, but I would think they would close it, since it would open straight onto a through road, rather than a parking lot.

they "MIGHT" have a stop there for convention center guests. THough i highly doubt it...

There is a new shuttle service to run from Simba which i think will also go to the Lion King tram area. It doesnt seem like there will be a stop by the convention center but who knows, Disney does weird things... if not, walk to the front or walk toward Simba... :\

Thank you all for your information. We are there next week, so hopefully the lot will remain open. We can probably walk it with no problems, but it is nice to know that using the tram may be an option if we have tired feet at the end of the night. ;)

Where is Simba? I'm not too familiar with the area. Will it be closer to walk to Simba than to just walk to the esplanade? We just want to know our options if we get tired. Thanks!

Simba is over near the PPH, it's quite the walk and not fun. The one time we parked there DBF ended up leaving, getting the van and parking it in DTD parking. It only worked tho because he went as we were leaving to head back home. So he went and got the van, parked in DTD and then met us in RFC for lunch/dinner, after we ate we left so we were within the 3 hr time limit.

Here is my shortcut for getting from Simba to Main Gate and is 2800 or so feet.
Park in the northeast most space then go to the light and cross the street. Head north to the entrance to Grand Californian Hotel and walk through the hotel to Downtown Disney then east to Main Gate.

Another option is to park around the 20th car in the north most row at Simba. Walk along the west side of Paradis Pier Hotel. Tahta path will lead you to a circle and continue north on Downtown Drive. This will take you into Downtown Disney near the AMC theater. Turn right and go to the Monorail. That is 1660 feet approximately. If you walk to Main Gate using that path it is about 3450 feet.

I have a scooter so no problem but for a person walking that is one more mile pushing strollers and walking which for some people is no problem but still is a lot of walking.
