How early can you make your ADR for breakfast and still be able to get there by using the bus from CBR? We want to go to Donald's Safari breakfast in AK, but will have to take the bus to get there. If the park opens at 9:00, would an 8:00 ADR be too early? An 8:30?

If I'm not mistaken, 8:00 a.m. is the earliest you can get an ADR at one of the park character meals (I know this is true for the CP at the MK). We've often gotten an 8:05 ADR at the CP. We, however, drive our car and do not use Disney transporation. I know that I read somewhere that the buses start at perhaps 7 a.m. (or maybe it was 7:30?). I can't recall for sure. Your other option would be to take a cab ride if you were worried about the buses.

If I understand it correctly, if you have an ADR prior to a park opening, you have to take your reservation info with you to the gate and they let you in. I we have a character breakfast at Animal Kingdom at 8:15am on a day when the park opens at 9. When we booked it, the cast member on the phone told me to just take that to the AK front gate with me. It'll be nice to be in the park that early and can hopefully get in line fairly quickly to Everest...

We've never used the Disney Transportation because we are renting a car. It's just more convenient if you want to leave parks at your leisure, plus we're going off-site a lot and don't want to hassle with waiting for cabs or other transportation schedules. It's all about convenience for us.

From experience, I learned the hard way that there is ONE breakfast bus from CBR. It is a bus specifically for those with early morning breakfast reservations. I was NOT told this when I made my ADR's so, unless you know prior to a trip, I don't know how else vacationers are supposed to know. :confused3

Wow! I had no idea either. :confused3 Do you think I could call CBR and find out when that bus runs? Would the Disney Dining CM's know?

Yes, the CBR front desk is who provided me with the early morning breakfast bus information. I doubt the DDCM's know otherwise I don't know why they wouldn't have made sure to make a point that I will need to take a certain bus that is the ONLY bus to take you to a breakfast before a park opens.

Also, be sure to bring your reservation number. At least at Epcot, there was a specific line for early diners who could get in before the park opened for their early morning dining reservation. I just had to provide the ressie # and our last name.

On our last trip we had a 8:10am ADR for Donald's Safari breakfast. I called concierge the evening before and was told that the buses start running two hours prior to park opening. I am not sure if this is in effect all year round or not. We were nervous too...we got a later start then I wanted and caught a bus around 7:30am to AK, but checked in before 8am and were actually the first party to be seated even though our ADR was for after 8am (I think this was because we had a table for two towards the back of one of the rooms). There is a separate line to go through if you have an ADR...I think they asked us the name of our party and checked us off of a list, I had my confirmation number as well, but didn't need to give that. I think the more challenging breakfasts to get transportation to would be those at resorts other then the one you are staying at.

We were at POP last AUG/sEPT and had an early ADR everyday. The bus would leave at around 7 or 7:15 and would take us right to the other resort door. It was so easy and we had great bus drivers. My DH has a electric scooter and it was NO problem at all.

Thanks for the help everyone! I'll check with CBR about early bus times and plan our breakfast ADR accordingly. I love the DISboards! You guys have great advice about EVERYTHING! :lovestruc
