Has anyone else experienced a timing problem with the marathon on Sunday? My mom's time has the same time listed for her gun time and her net time. She started in corral P and there is no way that the times should be equal. Mine is right and I was with her every step of the way. It is not really a big deal but when it comes time to print her certificate I know she wants her actual time and place to be correct on the cetificate. I have e-mailed RD and waiting on a response but wondered if anyone else had similar issues.

Give it a few days and see if there is a correction. If mid to late next week it has not been corrected email runD again and let them know she did not register on the start line timing mat. You should also let them know you ran together for the entire race and point out that both of you crossed the intermediate mats at the same time. If you have photo with marathon foot or your own, offer those or at least to furnish those.

It's not uncommon for a chip to fail to register on a mat or two during the race. Usually this is not an issue unless it is the start or finish mat. Though it can also lead to a DQ if an intermediate were not registered. It would have to be coupled with a huge increase in pace for that section of the race.

DH had this issue in a race he did locally last September. (Not sure if it matters or not, but it was also thru active.com.) we freaked out but a few days later it was fixed. So try to stay calm for a few days and see what happens.

Happened to me last year at the Donald. When I emailed rD the first thing they asked me was if I ran with anyone. They wanted the bib number of someone I started with.

When I couldn't provide that, they made my start time the corral's official start time. I was near the front so it was a loss of a few seconds instead of minutes.

Fortunately I ran the entire race with her and if you lool at all of our intermediate times and our net time that are all exactly 1 hour and 2 minutes apart. I sent them a screen shot of the the results page and highlighted my information and her information. There should be no problem getting it fixed.
