Hi everyone
My soon to be family in law are arriving at MCO at 14:35 on the day before our wedding. We have a reservation for dinner in the Magic Kingdom at 5pm that night for our rehearsal dinner.

They are picking up a rental car from Dollar (through Virgin Holidays) and then driving to their villa in Windwood Bay, then straight to MK to meet us. Does anyone think they have a hope of getting to us in time?

How long does it take on average from landing at MCO to go through customs/immigration, collect bags, get to Dollar, find your car and set off driving?

We have always used Mears or Magical Express before, so the rental car thing is a total unknown to me! :rotfl:

Thanks everyone!

Hi Miranda,

Well, it will be stressful, that's for sure.

Assuming the flight lands on time (not a safe assumption) your future in-laws will then need to:

Get off the plane, get to the baggage claim area, wait for their bags, clear customs and immigration, go to Dollar, sign out the car, drive to the hotel, check in, drive to the MK parking lot, park the car, take a tram to the TTC, take the ferry or monorail from the TTC to the MK station, walk from the MK station to the entrance, go through bag check, then walk to the restaurant.

So I hope they make in on time!

Thanks Bob! I've now changed our reservation for the dinner. Don't want my future Mother in Law arriving all stressed! ;)

Thanks for your help.

Can I highly recommend you MIL becoming a Dollar Express member? I was in the same sort of situation in February when I was meeting my DD and the band after I arrived at MCO. I was a new flyer and new to renting cars. I had read on Dollar's site about becoming a Dollar Express member.

Well... when I got the the rental car line after I found my luggage, to my surprise the line was VERY long. I actually was in line when I looked to my right and saw an empty line that said Dollar Express. I asked the associate that was keeping people in line if I could use that line as a Dollar Express member. She quickly said yes and I went right to that line, walked right up to the desk and had everything I needed to go across the street and pick up my car within 10 minutes. It did take about 20 minutes after that to get across the street to get the keys and the car, but the Dollar associate at the desk said that I had saved myself at least an hour wait in line.

Good Luck and Congratulations!
