We have taken 4 timeshare tours in Orlando for the tickets or cash. I think the first one was Marriot World Center. I don't remember what we got there. We have also done Star Island for 2 free Seaworld tickets, The Fountains for 3 free Seaworld tickets and there was one other one that I can't remember what the name of it was or what we got there. I don't think they are that bad to take. For a couple hours of your time, you can get $100 to $150 worth of free stuff!!!
My question is, do you have any good places to take a tour for some good cash or tickets?

No, my time is far too valuable to have some sleazy salesweasel try to tell me I'm an idiot if I don't hand him $40,000 right then and there.

I know these tours are not for everyone, but for us, we're not rich and it helps us do more things than we can afford. :)

We do these sometimes if we have "down time" to spare. Some vacations are just too busy.

We signed up for a Fountains tour when DS's HS band decided to go march at Universal Studios right before the week we already have scheduled at Vistana. I was having trouble finding a reasonable hotel to add two nights. I paid $59 and get a $50 Bass Pro Shop gift certificate back, so effectively the two nights will cost us $9.

They even upgraded us to a 2-br unit at the resort instead of sticking us in a hotel. DH is grumbling about being forced to move after two nights, but he'll get over it.

I agree. Not to mention there are some who end up buying something they didn't want anyway and the whole thing makes timesharing look bad. They wouldn't sell any other type of real estate or large purchases this way (cars, etc.)

There have been reports on the boards about places that offer "babysitting" while you take the tour but then had a hard time getting their kids back after declining to purchase. To the point they were ready to call the police for kidnapping.
The whole scene is ridiculous and I am a timeshare owner but didn't buy in this high pressure, "we need an answer right now" method.

It sickens me....:sad2:
