Timeshare resorts w/themed pools?

I'm long-term planning for next year and exploring lots of options. One thing my kids like about the moderates is the themed pools. Since I now am an RCI member, I'm willing to at least consider staying off-grounds. If I do, are there any RCI-affiliated resorts nearby with similarly themed pools?

dvc is rci affiliated.

so if you got a good trader you can stay on property with RCI - OKW, SSR, BCV, BWV, AKV, VWL and BLT

also Bonnet creek, star island,
now kinds of themed - Cypress Pointe, Sheraton Vistana Resort

Where to you own your timeshare? If it is not within 50 miles of Disney you can trade in. Do a search on RCI and see what you come up with. Keep in mind that the search will not pick up anything more than 10 mths out. As the PP stated, it depends on where you own. We own Hawaii and had a plethora of resorts/weeks to choose in the park. Good luck.

By the way, the resort directory on RCI should give you all the info you are looking for along with member reviews.

DVC (via points) is my first priority, but I understand there's some chance I won't get one even if I'm flexible so I wanted to see what my other options are. Bonnet Creek looks like the next best bet, but it also looks even harder to get through RCI than DVC. Luckily, I'm not looking to go until next Oct so I have a few months before I can start looking in earnest.

The descriptions/reviews/pictures at RCI aren't always detailed enough to be able to tell what kind of pools the resorts have, so I was looking for some firsthand impressions.

Bonnet Creek's newest pool area is better-themed than I expected. Lazy river through a vaguely pirate-y "fort". Nice pool bar with wraps, sandwiches, and salads---and an expanded menu was coming.

We thought it was more impressive than OKW's main pool area, even without a slide.

Orange Lake River Island is themed. It's got the lazy river inner tube thing. Actually any part of Orange lake would get you use of the river island pool. Location wise, people complain because it's up rt. 192, but really it is not too far from Animal Kingdom. You may be able to trade in DVC but it's a hard trade and you are correct Bonnet Creek is really hard to get into, esp. a 2 bedroom or above. Depending on how long you take vacation for and how you like to do Disney, you may be able to do an off site week and then stay on site for 3 days to get both experiences. I've traded to Orlando many times but we aren't all day park commandos nor do we break and come back later. So off site works for us. Although this year I was able to trade into DVC.

Look thru the RCI book, join tug2.net, find some places you think you'd like and post back with a list of your choices. Be aware that some of the nicer resorts, bulk spacebank a couple of times of year, like the Hiltons, so you may want to snag a resort sooner than later if you must go a specific week and don't have much flexibility.
