Hubby's boss has given us his timeshare for a week in September. He sent us his confirmation paperwork, but the reservation is still in his name. Will that be a problem? Should we be able to check in as long as we have the confirmation number? Or should we call the resort and ask?

Also, we will be staying at Summer Bay resort in a 2BR condo...anyone have any reviews they can give us?

TIA

YOu should make sure you have a confirmation that is in YOUR name, or else you MIGHT have trouble checking in. This shouldn't be hard to do. Have your hubby's boss change the ressie and send it to you. Better to be safe than sorry.

My wife got talked into a timeshare presentation vacation through summerbay. We took a tour of the resort and the condos they offer. It may be that they showed us the best rooms on the resort or maybe they are all the same but it is a very beautiful resort, very posh, we thought about getting a timeshare there because it was so so nice but of course me being the stubborn person I am didnt fall for it but to have an oppurtunity to go there and spend a vacation on their property that is definetly worth the stay.

I could be wrong but I think that you have to pay RCI 59 Cdn (not sure how much in US$) for what is called a guest certificate so that you will be able to check into the unit.
Perhaps have your husbands boss call RCI and find out.

My husbands relative is an RCI owner and we have used RCI weeks through her with the guest certificate.

There is a fee with RCI to change it to your name. My aunt had to do that with us in case she doesn't arrive with us so there's no check in problems. Are your names listed any where on the ressie?

You will need a guest certificate.
Here is some info from RCI.
