We will be at Universal this coming Tues-Thurs. I imagine it will be very busy since its spring break for a lot of families. My question is when do you recommend seeing all the Harry Potter stuff, morning or evening, given the crowd levels? We are staying on site so have access to early admission (which is available at both parks each day we are there), but I read that its really cool to explore the harry potter sections in the evening. The parks close late as well, i believe 10pm, so was hoping to head back to hotel midday for some pool time before going back to the parks.

We take advantage of the early admission. It's worth it for sure!

Please do visit the HP attractions at night as well -- especially Diagon Alley: it's magical in the evenings - love grabbing an ice-cream and going for a stroll. Hands-down my favourite thing to do when visiting Universal.

If it's your first time and your a not an HP fan - you'll love it ... if your a big HP fan you'll REALLY love it. :-)

Why choose one time of day? :) Hogsmeade I said miserably crowded mid day so I would avoid that. Otherwise, hit it in the AM and evening. Hogsmeade during sunset is pretty over the castle. Diagon Alley is awesome at night.

Oops. Duplicate. This website is horribly glitchy on my phone with Safari.

Wow, it looks like next week has early entry for both parks. You will have a great time if you go early and ride the HP rides first then go on another one or two until the lines get too long for you. Go back to the hotel and relax. If you will be going all week you can see everything multiple times. Walking around is fun after dark. I love riding RRR at night. We have spring break here in Charlotte area next week too. Get the Universal app so you can check wait times for rides.

We were there during a busy summer week last year. Definitely use the early entry hour - waits were never more than 15-20 during that time. I would also suggest coming back in the evening though, an hour or two before park close. We walked right on to FJ several times that way, even though the wait was posted at 20 minutes. Just avoid the middle of the day.

Definitely go in the hour early to whichever park is open early during your stay, you are lucky both are open early so you can alternate. I also agree that at night near closing is also a great time as crowds thinned out then. later in the evening is also a great time to do the wand ceremony at Ollivanders as the lines were non-existent at night when we were there, not the case during the day!

The great thing about staying on site is that it is so easy to go back to your resort and take a break during the day!

The night is magical! It's just so cool and realistic, you feel like you're in the movie. But I would do daytime to, so you can enjoy both settings.
