We are coming to WDW for the first time Nov 7...we are a male 53 and female 51 and we have saved for 8 years for this trip...Disney has been a DREAM for me all my life...but...life got in the way...also son 24 and Girlfriend will be coming with us...maybe...just maybe we will be lucky enough to get a dream come true from Disney...to wax poetetically if I may...I used to watch "Wonderful World Of Disney" every Sunday as a child and young adult with dreams of going there some day...we are staying at CSR
All I can say is we have a count down going and CANNOT wait until Nov 7, 2007 at 5:30 am when we leave for WDW!!!!!:

I am bringing my DH and 2 boys (6 and 4) for the first time in October. I am very, very excited about it, like you! I know exactly what you're saying about "life getting in the way" - I am trying to avoid that, and trying to enjoy the company of my boys while they still enjoy Mom's company Have a great vacation!

Enjoy! There is nothing like your first trip, no matter what age! Be prepared to be "hooked" though!

Don't feel bad. I was so excited when WDW opened because I, too, had watched shows on "Wonderful World of Disney" discussing DL and showing plans about WDW. I finally got to go in 1975 when only the MK was opened. Then I made short visits in 1976. Went back for a whole week in 1981 and then, as you say, life got in the way and I didn't go back until 2000, when my DS was 10 years old. Now he is 17 and we have gone several times. This year he is a senior and wants to go WDW (land/sea) for his graduation gift so we are headed out again in August '08. It is a fun, contagious place, if you know what I mean!

I know the feeling as I never went when I was a kid and it took some while after the boys were born that we all enjoyed our first disney vacation. Now it is no stopping us as we are hooked- not a bad thing though!!

Going back soon and staying at CSR for the first time!!

have you been to your local disney store?
how about wine tasting (both at home and wineries) for the next several wknds until you get to the Food & Wine festival
any projects to get deeply involved with at work?
how about logging lots of miles walking?
any DISers you can meet up with btwn now and then?
hows your itinerary going? im sure there is something else you can add?
do you have your WDW budget put aside? how about weekly envelopes w/your paycheck? (I know mine still need to be filled!)

We are going the second week of Dec. and time can't go any slower. I pass the time by reading the DisBoards and making plans for all the things that we are going to do. I've learned so much on the boards about special activities, what to pack, what to order in advance and have sent to the hotel we are staying at (CR). The day will come and you and your family will have a magical time!
