Is there a time frame as to when you can have a disney coordinator assigned?
I'm about a year and 8 months from my wedding, but I have so many things I want to talk to a coordinator about. I know you can't book/reserve anything longer than 12 months, but I want to make sure I get the date, time, and location we want. If I were to call them say, this week, would they assign me to someone or just tell me to call back closer to October?

For example (since everyone has been sooo helpful :P) I saw (I think for the wedding pavilion) that the groom is picked up earlier than the bride and kept seperate. Is this true for every wedding or just wedding pavilion ones, or non-escape weddings?

I really don't want my fiance to see me all dressed up before the wedding, but I don't want to just kick him out of the room either haha. I'm horrible with keeping surprises a secret and I really want that first initial sight of me all prettied up, walking down the aisle to be a shock haha.

..a good shock, of course :P

I know it can be sooo frustrating... unfortunately Disney don't usually assign a coordinator until after you have signed your contract - I signed my contract at 8 months out and then was assigned about 2 weeks later, that was for a Wishes wedding, not sure how it works for Escape Weddings but I think it's probably the same.

I basically asked all my questions on here and on other sites and then when I was assigned my Co-ordinator I pretty much had everything planned LOL

haha that's what I'm hoping for. I want to make sure I get every angle covered, this way when I do talk to them, it can all be planned with ease.

The first person I have in contact with my wedding consultant helped me with all the questions I had like that.

You can talk to a coordinator/consultant at 18 months out...( just two more months for you  ). They won't be able to do much other than pencil you in for your date/time (this is NOT a guarantee..simply marking you in so they know how many people are looking at the same time/date), they can answer any questions you have, help arrange a site visit, etc. Then at 8/12 months (depending on the venue) you will sign your LOA and get assigned a planner. :cutie: It seems like it will be a long time, I just got my planner yesterday and am at 11 months out.....but I swear 18 months seems like yesterday!

I know haha I look at the counter and its like 20 months?? ughhh haha, but it's all good. I definitly want to finish school first, especially so I won't have to worry about papers and such on my honeymoon, what a downer that would be haha. We booked our April trip in October, and back then it seemed like it would take foreverrr for it to get here, but its 2 months away and approaching fast, and I really just want to leave now.

It seems like of all the posts I've read, pretty much everyone on here got the date they wanted, has anyone every had any problems with reserving the date they wanted?

I was down MLK weekend and saw one wedding at the Gazebo(Sunday, must have been a 2:30). Absolutely nothing going on at SBP. Though did see 2 receptions at Ariel's(those were either Friday or Saturday).

Now I think for Wishes they may up the minimum for 3 day weekend holidays dates(I think I read that on Mouseweddings).

We were staying at BCV so I was in a good spot to stalk the Gazebo and SBP.

My guess is you won't have much of a problem getting the date you want. October isn't a crazy busy time of year so you probably won't have much competition. In addition, if you can be flexible on the time of day, that can help too. And I think you said you were choosing between two locations (either SBP or Sunset Pointe) so that gives you even more flexibility.

My wedding was in September 2005. My first call to Disney was just 5 months in advance. ;)

What does the 12 month mark apply to? Reception or Ceremony? Sya you want a WP wedding or SBP and then an Epcot location, is it 12 months or 8mmonths for you?

Thanks!
