Time for Table Service

I have been to DW several times, but only twice on the dining plan.
I was pretty annoyed both times with the amount of time it took to eat! Both of these trips, I was with travel companions who didn't seem to mind and actually enjoyed the time to sit,rest--so I just went along.

When I visit in September though, I will be with my BF who feels the same way about eating. We are doing a character meal at Chef Mickey's and don't mind to spend time there. However, the others we would like to speed up a bit. We have ressies for San Angel Inn (don't knock it, I LOVE it!), Sci-Fi and Mama Melroses.

IF we order when the waiter first comes over AND we explain that we are in a hurry, do you think we can get our meals done in 45mins-1 hour?

At our trips in early Dec 09 and mid Oct 08 we took:
2.5 hrs at Kouzzina
1.5 hrs at Tutto Italia
2 hrs at Mama Melroses
These are the only ones I specifically remember.

Now I realize that we could just skip the table service altogether and avoid all of this. But I really do love both San Angel Inn and Mama Melrose's just not the time it takes. Would hate to miss out altogether. I think you SHOULD be able to eat a table service meal in 45 mins - 1 hr..it should be possible, esp. with reservations--don't you think??

Also, wanted to add that we are doing the counter service meals for the rest of our 6 day trip. We understand this is the quickest way to eat.:thumbsup2

Not sure what your experience was, but we are always done within 45 mins to an hour.
With the exception of LeCellier, that was another 20 mins. (but it was later in the night).

We always do a TS dinner per day we are there and never have had a longer time frame.

So I would suggest you will be fine if you make earlier ADRs.....5-6pm range. That way the staff isn't overwhelmed and "fresh".

It doesn't hurt to tell them you are in a hurry, but then be patient if something goes wrong. When people hurry they tend to mess up.
