time for bus from ASMu to AK for 8:30 Char. Brkfst.

What time should we line up to catch a bus from ASMu to AK for an 8:30 ADR at Donald's Safari Breakfst in Tusker House? Obviously we'd rather be early than late.

The buses start at 7:00 am. For an 8:30 ADR, I would be at the bus stop NLT than 7:30 am.

According to all of the ADRs I have recently made you are supposed to be at the restaurant 20 minutes prior to your ADR time. So you need to be at the Tusker House by 8:10. Conventional wisdom is to allow an hour to get where you need to go using Disney transportation. Using that as a guide be at your bus stop no later than 7:10.

*the above is the reason we have gone to using taxis for our early morning ADRs. The extra sleep you get is worth the $20 a taxi costs, imho.

I would NOT take a taxi to an early ADR at Animal Kingdom. The parking lot at Animal Kingdom opens later than most other parks, and you may be sitting at the toll booth in a taxi not able to get there in time.

Disney buses go in a different entrance and are allowed in earlier.

ASMu and AK are not very far from each other, and also that early in the morning, you are seated pretty quickly once you arrive, so, I still stand by my 7:30 bus time. HOWEVER, if you want to eat earlier than your ADR time, get there earlier, you will be seated earlier. We did this once. We had an 8:35am ADR, but wanted to be able to get to Everest right at rope drop, so we showed up at the AK gates at 7:45. We were sitting down and getting our drinks served to us by 8:00 am. We were finished breakfast by 8:45 am and were on Everest by 9:02 am

I have been on a bus, from the resorts, to AK, at 6:40am. We had an early seating at Donald's (before it moved to Tusker House). I would be outside, at the AK bus stop, by 7ish. Those buses don't run quite as frequently as the normal buses do and if you miss you that is just pulling away, it could be quite a bit before the next one comes along.
You don't really need to be at the podium 20 mins before your ADR time....10 mins will do it...and even then, 5 is okay. Just be ontime. And you will have to walk from the bus, to the park entrance, go through bag check and the turnstiles, then walk to Tusker House..that can take a bit of time.

I would just agree with PP that the walk from the bus to Tusker is longish -- maybe 10 mins? Someone else I am SURE has timed it

I absolutely agree that you should NOT take a taxi to an early morning breakfast at the AK. Only Disney buses are allowed into the park early. We learned this the hard way on our last trip!

Just for the record, AK is the only park that closes their parking lot. All the other parks leave them open 24 hours. HS and Epcot leave them open because the Toll Plaza is the only way for CMs to get to work and the MK lot is always open because the toll plaza is right on World Drive which can not be shut down.

Also what I have noticed in the past is that the first car thru at AK is at 7:30.

With this being said, I would also recommend to the OP to be at the AS bus stop at 7:30
