Time DCL buses pick up at Airport Hyatt

We are on the March 30 Magic cruise. We are flying in on Friday and are staying at the Airport Hyatt. We wanted to do this in order to get to the port as early as possible. Can anyone tell me what time the buses pick you up in the morning? I was just talking to someone from the Disney Castaway Cay Club and she said most of the DCL buses try to get to the port between 12:30 and 2:30. This is what we were trying to avoid (the last time we were on a very late bus from the resorts and waited in a bus line at the port, looking at everyone on the Magic). We could stay at the Swan and ride the bus from there, but it doesn't pick up until 11:45. Could we stay at the Swan and take a regular cab to the airport and get an earlier bus? How much would this cab cost? We booked everything through Disney and are realizing this was a mistake, didn't know about this site and all your good information.

We stayed at the Airport Hyatt the last two cruises. We arrived at the port at around 12:00 noon. That was around the same time when we flew in the day of the cruise, our plane got in at 10:30 and with the drive to the port, it was also around 12:00 noon. I thought that was pretty good. We did not have long lines and on the last 3 cruises we were on we couldn't get on the ship until 12:30 pm. What was really nice was that we placed our luggage outside our hotel rooms the morning of the cruise and we did not have to take them to the DCL buses like the last time. In fact our luggage arrived the earliest it has every been! Kathy

Thanks for the info. Do you remember what time the bus was at the Hyatt? Were there more than one? Did you have to wait in line?

We always stay at the Hyatt via DCL air, and they ask you to check in for the buses in the lobby of the hotel at 9:30 am on the day of the cruise. There's not really much of a line. They check you in and tell you which bus you're on, and you can sit in the lobby until they call your bus. The first bus leaves at about 10:00am. On our last trip, we were on the second bus, and at the port by 11:00am or so. My wife got in line to board while I checked us in, and were were probably among the first 20 or so to board, at 12:15. I had time to have a healthy portion of shrimp from the buffet before heading up to Palo to book dinner reservations.

The luggage service from the Hyatt is great. Very convenient.

Yes, there are several buses picking up fellow cruisers that spent the night at the Hyatt. When we did it on the first 7 day Aug.'00 there were not that many people staying overnight before the cruise. Last year on our 2nd 7 day it seemed like our entire floor was made up of fellow cruisers heading to the Magic. That was when we were told to put our luggage out in the morning, I think before 8:00 AM or it could of been sooner. It was gathered and delivered to the port just like we flew in that day only we got the luggage even sooner than if we flew in that day :)!!

Flying in the day ahead is the way to go if you are concerned about any delays getting to the ship and here in the midwest it is either ice, snow or a bad electrical storm! So we always fly in early and spend the night. We are also more awake and when we cross the golf stream we don't notice the ship rocking because we are not tired. It is like we added a day to our cruise because we are not tired from the long flight to Florida. Kathy
