Hello again! It's been quite some time since I've visited these boards. On March 22, my girls, and my parents as well as my brother and his wife will be taking our 2nd 7 day. (This is a first for my bro and his wife).
I am having such fun and good memories reading all the posts.

I have a few questions. (of course)
1. Is there anything to do for a few hours after debarkation and before our 3:00 pm flight from Orlando?
2. My brother's wife is from the Phillipines. They are trying to get her a temporary green card. She does have a drivers license and her birth certificate, as well as their marriage certificate. I am concerned about any problems.. should I be?
3. Last time we were in a cat 5, now we are in a cat 9 (since I waited too long to make reservations). Deck 2 - How is it?
4. What can we do if we do not take the excursion?

THANKS AND HAPPY CRUISING TO ALL!!!

I'll give some of these a shot:

- A lot of people tour the Kennedy Space Center before or after the cruise. I did the tour some 13 years ago, so I can't recall how long it lasts, but it's something that might be worth looking in to.

- If the temporary green card doesn't come, does she have a Philippine passport? You might want to check out the INS Website to see what the entry requirements are for Philippine nationals. You are leaving the country when you board the ship, so the same rules for re-entry apply as they would at any other POE.

- I've never stayed in Cat. 9, but all reports are that they are great rooms. They have the split bath like the Cat. 5's. It should be the same size room, minus the verandah.

- We never book excursions anymore. We just do our own thing at the ports. Usually hit the beach or take a cab to someplace interesting. A good resource I've found is Frommer's Caribbean Cruises and Ports of Call. I think you can get this from Amazon.com. It has a section on most every cruise ship port in the Caribbean, with good suggestions on things to do and how to get around. It also has contact information for local tour operators. Many of these are the same ones the ships use, but you can usually book them directly for less.

March 22 makes this an eastern cruise? On St. Maarten, we like Dawn Beach or Little Bay beach, both easily accesible from the cruise ship pier via cab. On St. Thomas, I like Sapphire or Coki Beach. You can also take a ferry to St. John, where I'd recommend Cinnamon Bay for the beach.

Enjoy!

I suggest <a href="http://www.dcltribute.com/carhire/"><font color=blue>renting a car</font></a> from Avis or Budget and either relaxing at the Cocoa Beach area, having lunch and shopping at <a href="http://www.ronjons.com/locations/cb_general.htm"><font color=blue>Ron Jon</font></a>, or driving to <a href="http://www.downtowndisney.com/"><font color=blue>Downtown Disney</font></a> for a couple hours. Either way, the time will fly.

We are in a cat 9... Deck 2 - How is it?
Most of the rooms on Deck 2 are very quiet and very nice. A few of them, however, are near noisy mechanical areas. I have a list, on my website, of areas you might wish to avoid...
