HI, we were trying to do something a little different this summer-we've been fortunate to stay at all the dvc resorts, except GF. (renting points). Sometimes we spend time at Universal, but since I am fortunate enough to rent points at a decent price, for the $ I prefer the disney resorts. Anyway... was thinking of before going to Disney, spending 3 nights at Vero Beach resort, We've never stayed there, but did visit it once when we were in Cocoa Beach. It's myself, DH, son (who is in 20;s). I thought we could do maybe a boat ride of some sort, go to Sebastion Inlet, spend time on the beach. Do you think 3 nights is the right amount of time? We do want to do it prior to heading to the world. I think from there, we might stay at Boardwalk. The planning is just in the "thinking" stage, but was wondering your opinion of the amount of time there- thanks!

Hi, We have stayed once at Vero Beach as a couple. We stayed for 3 nights also but we are going back on 31 Dec for 5 nights. It's a great hotel and perfect in the summer for beach access. It is definitely a more relaxing experience and that's why we go. We too are heading to WDW after our stay. I think 3-5 nights is more than enough. Hope this helps.

Thanks! We don't go too crazy at the parks anymore, lol! We thought it would be a nice change of pace, and to check out some of the wildlife in the area, eat at some places on the water. Thanks, I think 3 nights is good, I'll have to see what my DH and son think, thanks again!

We find that 3 days is our max at VB. We go there for the beach and pool time. We generally never leave the resort. We stayed for our 3rd time on the 7th 8th & 9th of November before 8 days in WDW. VB has really stepped up with quality places to eat. Wind and Waves Grill was outstanding for both breakfast and dinner. The counter service by the pool was top notch also. The Green Cabin Room not so much. They cut the menu Way back. It’s become just a bar. We stayed before WDW because my wife had surgery on her foot this summer. She couldn’t walk on sand until late October. She loves the beach. This worked out for us weather wise. It turned colder the following week. We have no preference before or after.

Vero Beach is my favorite resort. Several years ago someone here called it a perfect “primer or unwinded” for a WDW vacation.
As far as how much time you need, well that depends on the individual. If you’re looking for action, cut your stay short. If you’re looking for leisurely relaxation, stay as long as you can.
I do recommend a car in order to visit some nice restaurants and things to do.

We love the area so much that we built a house less than 10 minutes from the resort.

I would go to VB AFTER a WDW trip, it is very relaxing and peaceful. A good way to 'recover' from the madness at WDW.

We did just that in October and even took a day-trip back to the madness at WDW whilst there, for a restaurant visit that we’d missed 🤔.
