TimandLesley's When the Boat's a Rockin' Don't .... Trip of a Lifetime TR 2/4/1 pg.33

Then it was Kim Possible Time. I did a mission with Lauren in France and Tim and Luke headed to save the World in Great Britian:

As always Lauren loved it:

After we saved the World with Kim and Ron our bellies were rumbling and it was time for our reservation at LeCellier so we followed Lauren and Duffy there:

The gardens there are just so beautiful!

The kids ordered smoothies as their drinks:

The meal was FANTASTIC as always with pretzel bread and cheese/potato soup. The mushroom filet is still to die for and we soaked in every minute of it. After lunch we continued around the World Showcase as we passed by America there was literally like a Flash Mob of characters that we stumbled upon, all of a sudden all of our favorite characters were EVERYWHERE with no line as if they appeared out of nowhere. We literally saw all of these characters in less than 3 minutes:

Hands down one of the BEST character experiences EVER! Then we had a hunkering for some Caramel goodness so we trekked over to Germany :

Then we went to use our fast passes for Soarin’:

The ride was awesome as ever. I looked up on the way out and saw them holding hands and my heart just melted:
311.jpg

I snapped a picture of this on the way out because (see the guy sitting on the bench wearing the Donald hat) I just LOVE how in Disney you see grown adults wearing funny head gear without a care in the world, it’s what makes it such a magical place : )

Our attempt at a holding the ball photo (fail )

Made it to an empty bus stop:

Just in time too, as soon as we boarded it is as if the skies just opened up, the bus driver could barely see a thing:

We really had perfect timing with the rain on this trip : )
As we entered Animal Kingdom Lodge through the gift shop we were just in time for King pin so the kids were thrilled and traded pins with him:

I enjoyed some time on the balcony with our savannah view:

So did Luke:

Tim and Bryan took the kids down to the arcade:

331-1.jpg

It was still drizzling a bit after dinner and the guys (Bryan and Tim) didn’t want to go back out to the parks so Diane and I took the kids back out to the Magic Kingdom to see the parade and ride some rides.

Lauren playing with the leftover rain:

Luke was just a LITTLE excited to be in the Happiest Place on Earth (it was so good to see him feeling a bit better):
336.jpg

We decided to ride Haunted Mansion since we hadn’t yet this trip and haven’t seen the new que yet, we had fun exploring it:

By this point it was time to get a spot for the parade, so we picked our normal spot across from Hall of Presidents. Lauren REALLY wanted to get a characature done of herself and we were sitting right by one so she spent her money to get one done. She was SO excited:

346-1.jpg

This guys did a TERRIBLE job, I didn’t want to break Lauren’s heart so I didn’t say anything but she looked like she had a HUGE nose and it just didn’t look like her at all:
350-1.jpg

Then we went back with Diane who was saving our spots right before the parade began.

Kids LOVED the parade:

We headed to Main Street in hopes of seeing the fireworks but I honestly in all my years of Disney have never seen Main Street so crowded, we literally were stepping over people who were sitting down all over the place, we decided to cut our losses and make our way to the exit, which was quite tricky. We got back to the lodge and enjoyed some time in the concierge lounge and then went back to our room where the beds were made up nicely as always:
375-1.jpg

Kids jumped into bed after an AMAZING day! (notice how they are wearing the complimentary concierge robes, such snobs : )

So glad Luke was feeling better. You certainly had a great day.

Great luck on the rain. I have had that too when standing at an open bus stop and it began drizzling. As soon as we got on the bus, the monsoon began. What was even better was we were heading to DHS and when we got off the bus, it was dry. :goodvibes

Loved the update!!! pictures are great as always. The character experience was amazing...to get to see them one after another like that!!! WOW
So much magic at that place, I can honestly get lost in your TR's and pictures. Thanks for always making time to share your wonderful disney adventures!!:santa:

Oh wow, you had a great, full day Lesley. What a perfect time in Disney! So glad Luke was feeling better! :)

Hey girl!!! I just saw your post on fb about your TR....so I am here now and getting ready to play catch up! ;)

Another great update. So glad he was feeling better. Wow the rain sure does open up huh? Can't wait for more. :thumbsup2

Great update - very nice to hear from you again! I can't believe that character explosion - how fabulous was that?! Know you are looking forward to the Christmas break. Merry Christmas to you all - hope it is a great one!

I started your TR last night and now I've read the whole thing.

You and your family look like you have so much fun and like you truly enjoy your time together. It's wonderful to see that.

Thanks for sharing!

So relieved that Luke was feeling better! It's no fun to be sick in the happiest place on earth!! Amazing character experience in World Showcase! I miss the spontaneous appearance of characters from years and years ago but I suppose that posting appearances and having queue lines are the most efficient way to do it and ensure everyone has an opportunity to see who they want to.

Hope you and your family have a great holiday! :santa:

Well hello there! I had no idea this TR was going on. I really had not expected you to write one for this trip, so I was really surprised when I saw it. I've read all your other TRs and enjoy them a lot. We also sailed on the Dream this past October so I am really looking forward to reading this! Going back now to get caught up!

That flash mob of characters sounds like it was pretty awesome! How random to stumble across so many with no waits!

That stinks that Lauren's picture definitely was not very accurate! But how great that Luke was feeling so much better!

What an awesome day! You sure accomplished a BUNCH! I think my favorite thing is that you got to do all of this AFTER getting off the Dream. I am not looking forward to our disembarking because we have to go straight to the airport and back to school the next day... ick! So glad you got to extend the magic!!

So sorry you are having such an awful year. I hope the Christmas break recharges your batteries and the rest of your year goes well

Glad to see luke was feeling a lot better. Epcot looked so empty.:scared1:

the pic with them all holding hands was so cute :goodvibes

That is a shame that Lauren's pic did not come out well, but at least she enjoyed the experience and liked it :goodvibes

Heard a lot of time you can get mobs of characters at epcot world showcase as they train a lot of new characters there. Love the penguin one :thumbsup2

Great Update!

I agree the spontaneous character greetings in random places are always the best, I wish Disney would do that more often.

Wow! Talk about LUCK to stumble upon all those characters with no line!!! Amazing!

Well, I'm still getting caught up, but wanted to comment that you had great luck with the characters on the cruise! We did the 3 night cruise on the Dream and did not have that same experience. I am wondering if they have more characters on the longer cruises? :confused3 We only met one character during our cruise.

We did have the same luck with the AD early on the first day like you did though. That's really the time to ride! :thumbsup2

Looks like a great trip so far! Going back now to finish up!
