Welcome to Timandlesleys (and Luke and Laurens) Trip of a Lifetime! For those of you who have followed us year after year now during our trips, this one is honestly the BEST ONE YET, if you can believe that! For those of you who are new to our trips, please feel free to review the trip reports in my signature to get to know us a little better. As always with our trip reports we promise LOTS of pictures, LOTS of details and most of all
LOTS of fun!
Trip you will be reading about in a nutshell: we DROVE down from the Cincinnati Ohio area, stayed 2 nights at the Boardwalk resort, sailed 5 nights on the brand new LOVELY Disney Dream, and then ended our Disney adventure with 5 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge concierge level .so are you understanding why I say this was our trip of a lifetime! Lets begin shall we ..
Our trip began on June 18th with a LONG day in the car. We got on the road bright and early by 7:30 a.m. We drove through NON STOP torrential rain for the first 6 hours of our trip, NOT FUN:
The kids were occupied in the backseats with every luxury item needed for a long trip in the car:

The day was LONG but the kids were great and it went as well as could be expected. We decided to push all the way to Orlando that night knowing we could check in at the Boardwalk Resort on the 19th. So I called Buena Vista Suites (Tim and I honeymooned there all the way back in 1998 so it has some history for us) and got a reservation. I also made a call to Flippers Pizza (if you havent tried this pizza yet you MUST) and they met us in the lobby about 10 minutes after we checked in at 11:30 at night, we started the trip of gluttony off on the right foot : )
The next morning we woke up and gave Tim his Fathers day cards from us (it was Fathers Day on our first Disney Day) and headed to Disney, the kids were THRILLED when we saw those Disney gates for the first time!
Laurens pure excitement:
Lukes pure excitement:
It always is so awesome driving through those gates!
We arrived at the Boardwalk in no time:
The security guy at the gate was so sweet, he was from Ohio, and he gave the kids security stickers, so they were thrilled with their new found duties:
We pulled in and unloaded the car, the kids faces were full of Disney excitement
We went in to checkin and since we are DVC members it gets a bit confusing but bottom line, they had a standard view room the 1st night and a boardwalk view the second, I had waitlisted forever trying to get one room for both nights. At check in I inquired again to see if it would be possible so we wouldnt have to switch rooms, but they couldnt do anything, oh well. The room wasnt ready, so we left our things and headed over to Epcot.
I just love the beautiful Boardwalk area
The kids and I:
The stroll over to Epcot from there is such a nice one.
It was SUPER hot on this day!!!! We enjoyed a beautiful stroll through an almost empty World Showcase.
We were headed to Future World to Fast Pass Test Track (Tims favorite) but had to make a pit stop at our new favorite the Karamel Kitche in Germany, YUM YUM YUM!!!!
Tim got his favorite, caramel pecan bars:
The kids and I enjoyed some of their delicious caramel popcorn:
Then our trek continued to Future World on a hot summer day:
The kids were thrilled to see these guys:
Took a minute at a splash area to cool down a bit:
And then again while Tim was grabbing the fast passes:
CONTINUED IN NEXT POST!
