Timandlesley's ROAD TRIP TO DISNEY!! ARE WE THERE YET!?!6/28 TR is up, link on pg.47!

I love your family picture, you really should frame that one. I love the souvies. I can't wait to see Mary Poppins. It is coming here in Jan. Beauty and the Beast is coming in June and I want to see that one too. Wicked was here last summer and is coming back next spring so I want to see that one too. I love the music from Wicked and I haven't even seen the show.

Aww your daughter is so sweet. You are raising her well. What a good heart:goodvibes

I'm so glad to hear you brought your kids to the theatre too! I love Mary Poppins. I live right outside NYC and I am constantly urging parents to bring their kids to more Broadway shows because it is such an incredible experience for them!! I'm glad you guys had such a great time!!

Finally joining this PTR! I have been away from DIS for a few months. Now with three months to go to my next trip I am digging back in. Can't wait to hear about your trip!

How fun you went to see MP! what a beautiful family pic, and I love the gesture Lauren made to the homeless man. You are raising two wonderful kids!:thumbsup2

Lion King is coming to the Schuster Center in Dayton in summer 2011. The dates are June 14-July 10. We are definitely going to get tickets for that show! Miss Saigon is my absolute favorite Broadway musical...if you ever get the chance, go see it!

Wicked is awesome and Lion King is Amazing!!! I hope you get to see them. We don't live near anything, but we try to travel to see the broadway shows now that we know how great they are!:cool1:

Glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins! Looks like you had a great day!

Your family picture was very lovely as well - and I LOVE the one of the kids on the beach. That is just precious!

We've got a small DIS group meeting this Saturday in Atlanta for lunch, with some going on to see Mary Poppins later. It's good to hear your very positive reviews.

Nice family picture. Luke is looking more big boyish than little boyish there. I know he is going to grow into such an outstanding young man. :)

Sounds like a practically perfect night... especially the compassion Lauren showed on the way out!

Mary Poppins is coming to Indy this fall... we are planning a family night just like yours!! I'll be sure to bring my money for the souvie stand, tho, right!?

(I did buy the blue sparkly shirt in Chicago-the one you can barely see on the left side of your picture-but it makes me angry every time I put it on!)

Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I am all caught up!! Haven't been on the boards since before we left for Disney in February. Crazy with work and Wedding plans. I should be writing reports right now LOL. Cant wait to hear more about your trip. Glad everyone loved Mary Poppins.

Megan

Thanks to your links I managed to get caught up:thumbsup2!
Looks like you've had a great spring and have great plans for your summer trip. You are the peanut butter to our summer trips, right in the middle....
Can't wait to hear about Universal Studios, we've been thinking about making our way over there and seeing Harry Potter.

WOW! What an amazing night at Mary Poppins! The kids looked SO cute. I love their outfits.

I hope it is coming to us in Louisiana. I don't think it is, however :sad2: Are you sure if it is going to stay on Broadway in NYC? We may be going Thanksgiving 2011. I sure hope so, I loved seeing the performance during the WDW Christmas parade last year!

That is SO sweet of your DD to give money to the homeless man. What a kind heart she has!

Hi Lesley,
I'm sorry I'm so late to the party but I'm here and enjoying every minute of this trip report. All your plans sound great. We drive from N.Y every year with our 3 boys. So happy you enjoyed Mary Poppins we saw it here on Broadway and was fantastic. You're spring break pics are great and your kids are hilarious. Reading a Tim and Lesley report is almost as much fun as going to Disney.:thumbsup2 Well back to my chores:laundy:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the family picture!!! That is such a great shot of all of you....you MUST frame that one!!! It's a keeper!

I am so glad you enjoyed the show, and can't wait to see it ourself on Sunday afternoon!!!

You can go to the Aronoff's website and sometimes view upcoming seasons' schedules...always depending on what they have already locked down to come here. I will cross my fingers too that Lion King comes back soon.....that is one PHENOMENAL show!!!! I want to take Megan to see that one too!

Have you ever seen Les Miserables??? That show is really good too.....the music is so powerful....I balled my eyes out through it! :)
Thanks, guess I need to buy a frame ; ) I am soooo hoping Lion King comes back, so far it's no on the schedule any time soon.

What a beautiful family picture! The kids are getting so big. I am glad you really liked Mary Poppins, it is one of my favorite movies. Lauren is such a sweet girl for wanting to help the homeless man.

Looking forward to seeing your updates for the trip!
Glad you enjoyed it, yes the kids ARE getting big, wish I could stop time.

Mary Poppins sounds fabulous. Soon as my grandaughter
Chloe gets older I will definitely take her to see it!
We are heading into NYC this weekend for our anniversary
to see my absolute favorite Jersey Boys, also seeing Mama
Mia and the king Tut exhibit. Also got my confirmation
letter to the Regis and Kelly show for monday. Can't wait
for this much needed getaway!!!
Chloe would love it. Jersey Boys is a GREAT show, Tim and I went last year and loved it, enjoy!

GREAT tip!!! Wonder when tickets go on sale?? Perfect Bday present for myself next year!
What a great picture of the four of you, and it sounds like you had a practically perfect time! I am very excited about the show souvenirs they have for sale.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed them. Yes, TONS of great souveniers.

What a gorgeous family picture of you all.

I would say Phantom was my favourite musical. Without sounding strange the music makes me cry especially when all of the orchestra are playing together.

Glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins and what a lovely gesture by Lauren.
Thank you! Phantom is great, I've seen it 4 times, I was obsessed with it for awhile there : )

That is great kids enjoyed the Play so much.

I always wanted to Take Trent to one, but just can't picture him paying attention for that long :goodvibes
He may surprise you, my kids were rivoted.
Wow what a nice family pic of all of you.

That is so sweet that Lauren said it was amazing & also to the homeless man:cutie:

I wish Mary Poppins was coming around here but I think the closest would be Boston. I do not drive in Boston. I am not sure if it is coming this way but need to find out.
Thanks, wish it would come your way as well, here's hoping!

Sounds like you had a great time at Mary Poppins. Your family picture is so cute.
We did, thank you : )

Mary Poppins is a fun musical, very festive! We saw it in London several years ago, which we thought was appropriate :) So glad that you enjoyed it! I think I have seen that Tshirt, btw, on the Disney Store site... ;)
Yes, very fun and festive. Great tip ; )

Great family picture, it sounds like a fun time was had by all. I look forward to your trip planning update.
Glad you enjoyed it, trip planning updates forthcoming : )

I know how good Jersey Boys is, Leslie, i'm a big fan of Frankie Valli so i've seen the show many times.....this time around was extra special. Went to the stage door after the performance and go many of the cast members to autograph my playbill....and another highlite was an autograph from Billy Joel who was at the show!!!

Somehow, I always find a timandlesley trip report after it is all done... This time though, I'm ahead of the game and finally get to read it as it happens! (And finally comment!) So excited for me! I really love your families reports and am enjoying the PTR, as well.

Kiawah Island is one of our favorite family vacation spots - biking, the quiet beach, going to Scoopers and the delish food in the area are things that keep us going back. Don't know if you stopped there this trip but if/when you go back - make SURE to eat at Gilligan's (on the road out to Kiawah) and the Charleston Crab House (on the Wapoo River...there's two. Make sure to go to the one on the Wapoo. We made that mistake once...never again! :scared1:)

I hope you have a wonderful family vacation and a fabulous girls trip. Can't wait to keep reading about both!

-Sarah

Hi Sarah, glad you found us early on this year. Happy to hear how much you love Kiawah as well, I agree, such a peaceful place. This was the first year we could all ride our bikes around the island together and I LOVED it! I've eaten at Gilligan's before, YUM, never Charleston Crab House though so that will be on the list for next years spring break.

Alright so the official countdown until we leave for Orlando is 46 days!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!:cool1::banana:.

We have decided that we will start our decent down to Orlando on the 13th, we will drive to Valdosta Georgia, where I have already made us a reservation (through a great rate on Hotels.com) to stay the night. According to Mapquest that should take us about 12 hours to get to. Then the next morning (the 14th) we will wake up and drive (approximately 4 hours) to Orlando, pull into the Nick hotel and SURPRISE the kids!!!!:dance3::yay:!!! I can't wait to see the looks on their faces. Then on the 15th (my birthday) we will check out of the Nick hotel and check into Buena vista suites for the night (that is where Tim and I spent our honeymoon 12 years ago:love:). Still trying to decide what I want to do in Orlando on my birthday night, any suggestions? We ate at Charley's Steakhouse 12 years ago and LOVED it, but I don't know if it's still any good. I threw out seeing a BlueMan group show, but that's kinda pricey, maybe we should just drive into the Magic Kingdom, decisions decisions, (definitely open for suggestions on this one).
Then on the 16th we check into the Animal Kingdom Lodge, we'll partake in the FREE and yummy breakfast buffet at Buena Vista and then head over to the lodge for check in and hit a park on our first day, we have dining ressie's at LeCellier, YUM!!!:woohoo:
I sat down the other night and got all of the dining credits straightened out, we have 1 sit down meal per night (I shared the list of restaraunts with you in an earlier post). I know I may get FLAMED here, but I am doing something to stretch out our dining plan this year (PLEASE don't flame me for this). The counterservice credits for children and adults are not pooled together. We will use 2 counterservice credits at breakfast and 2 at lunch. Tim or I will go up and order 2 adult meals, drinks, deserts and split the food (which will be plenty) up amungst the 4 of us and then we'll have a nice big sit down meal with 4 credits each night at dinner. This will help us to stretch our Disney dollars;)
Well, the girls trip HAS BEEN COMPLETED, we had an AMAZING time and I'm working on uploading the over 300 pics that I took now and will begin writing our girls only trip report this week sometime so be on the lookout for the link:thumbsup2
-Lesley
