THEN we get through the cue and we turn around and notice these guys LITERALLY 5 people behind us:

Oh yes, that is the dream squad, and they are passing out dream ears to EVERYONE behind us. Didn’t do much for the mood that day, huge bummer. Oh well. To top that off Lauren had to pee, YIKES! So she and I escaped out of the exit while Tim and Luke stayed to ride.
Here are some pics Tim took on the ride:

Yeah, looks like Tim is smiling again, we were officially out of our funks and ready for the rest of the day.
After that Lauren and I met them by the exit. We had reservations at the Sci Fi for lunch and were excited to get our bellies full and enjoy this fun restaurant.

Here we are in our car (notice we put the kids up front and we were by ourselves, this was a nice idea):

We had such fun here. The kids though the cars and movies were awesome. Tim and I enjoyed the food, air conditioning and nice atmosphere. The movies kept the kids entertained so it was a nice peaceful meal.
The waitress gave the kids a drivers license, Luke thought he was TOO cool!!!

We both enjoyed delicious hot fudge sundaes for desert:

What is great about the deluxe dining plan is we got this awesome meal at 11:45 a.m., we got out of the heat, avoided long lines at counter service and now were so relaxed and refreshed we could stay in the parks longer, we just loved it.
After lunch Tim and Luke headed to Rockin’ Roller Coaster (Luke’s first ride, he was SO nervous) and Lauren and I headed to Little Mermaid, we lucked out and walked right in and had front row seats:

Poor Lauren was so afraid we were in the front row that Ursula was going to get here. I convinced her mommy would never take her to a show where the bad guy could get her.
Ending scene:

I just can’t get enough of that show, so cute.
The boys called and said Luke LOVED the ride. The camera hadn’t taken their picture so they let them ride UP FRONT with no wait again. Luke got to ride it two times up front he was loving life (so was Tim).
While they rode again Lauren and I shopped with some of her gift card.
She bought these beauties:

And a pretty tinkerbell ring.
We headed towards Rockin’ Roller Coaster because I was DYING to ride my favorite ride. We saw these guys on our way there:

If you haven’t seen their performance, YOU MUST!!! I crack up laughing every time, they are just hilarious!!!!
Then I found an excited Luke and we headed to Rockin’ Roller Coaster.
Luke loved the marble door:

We waited one turn for front row. I get a smile every time I think about this ride. BY FAR my favorite ride in all of Disney. It was such fun riding it. Here is our ride photo:

After that I called Tim. He said he had FP’s Star Tours and then they were at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. Luke and I trudged through the HOT day to make it over there.
We stopped so he could cool down:

He had my sunglasses on because the sun was so intense he asked if he could borrow them.
Now, I know this is a huge error on our part, but we had never been to this playground, we found it like a haven of Hollywood Studios. So cool, shaded, water areas, the kids loved it.
This is how I found Tim there:

Lauren (all flushed) was having the TIME of her life:

The kids had fun playing and exploring:

After we had fun playing we looked at our watches and it was 15 minutes to parade time. We decided to stay since it was a new one and we couldn’t wait to see what it was all about.
We got a good spot in between the hat and sounds dangerous. But there was NO shade and it was SUPER hot, (with a stolen spray fan that is no fun)
They had this stuff for the kids as the parade wrapped up in the first section:

That was fun, they played with that parachute doing different games and activities for like 15 minutes. Then the parade moved towards us, we could tell it was going to be fun.

This parade was so much fun. Tons of jumping, dancing, and interaction:

All of your favorite Pixar characters were there:

The only disappointment was that it stops and doesn’t move, so they perform in front of you the whole time where it lands, and we were by the Incredibles and Bugs life which is fine and we love them, but Monsters Inc. and Toy Story were way up ahead and we couldn’t see them and my kids are more fans of those shows. The kids and Tim and I loved the parade though. The army men from Toy Story are the narrators on each float and keep the action going, they are AWESOME! At the end they throw out a few bouncy balls and all the kids go nuts trying to kill eachother over getting them. I saw lots of kids in tears. My kids didn’t get one and almost teared up but I reminded them we are in Disney, not everyone got them, (the typical parent talk you give in Disney) and they brushed it off. THANK GOODNESS!!!
So then we called it a Hollywood Studios morning and headed back to the hotel. On the way out Tim said “should I stop at Guest relations and tell them about Toy Story, because it really has affected my whole day?” Of course I said “sure”. I really thought they should be aware of the situation. So we went in and very nicely told the lady what had occurred, said we aren’t ones to complain but the CM could have handled it better, lots of people had spent a good part of their morning waiting in line and she didn’t even say she was sorry, etc. just ignored the complaint. She agreed with us, disappeared for a moment and came back with 4 any time passes for us to use any time during our stay. YEAH!!!!! That was so cool, and you should have seen the smile on Luke’s face, he was so excited.
We headed to the bus stop happy campers.

RNR is my fave coaster at WDW, too. I LOVE sitting up front!!! How neat you can ride with Luke now. It'll be fun when my kids are old enough to ride the coasters!

Making a mental note of this for our trip.

So in the name of tradition, Matthew is reading right along with me and wants Luke to know that he thinks it is so cool that he was brave enough to ride RNRC this year! Then when he saw your near miss of the dream team he said "OH MAN!" We were rooting for you guys! That is just downright rude that someone took your spray fan Good for Tim for pointing out the less then stellar CM! Lesley, your not so bad, we've NEVER been to the HISTK playground Looking forward to more!

Great update! Love the pic of Tim on TOT - too funny. I can't wait to ride RNRC, it was closed on our first trip last year for refurb. Thanks for posting the pics of Sci Fi, we plan to do lunch there this September, glad to hear it was good! Your reports are like a great book I can't wait to finish, but yet never want to end!!

Hi Lesley and Tim This is too funny we must have been one step ahead or behind you the whole day!!

When I was reading this and got to the picture of the crowd. I was thinking gee that looks so much like MY picture.. Guess what..

We are IN IT... go back and look ... My Lauren is in the orange tank top and I am to the left of her.. Too funny

We had our lunch ressie right before you, we saw you come in but we were in the back.

That stinks about the TSM ride, we saw Tim and Luke get off and say something to the CM but didn't know what was going on.

Well be glad you left when you did, we ended up staying ..Lauren and I were on RNRC (rode for first time... totally my favorite too!) and when we came out, it was a torrential rain storm sooo bad.. lighting every where... I'll have alot to say about it in my TR... b/c it was soo bad..

great installment! i can't wait to ride the new toy story ride. only 2-and-a-half months to go!!! glad you spoke up about the rude CM. i can't remember if i posted this before or after you guys left for your trip, but we encountered a rude CM at DHS, too, on RnRC. i wonder if it was the same person since you guys were at DHS too? they could have moved her around a bit. i doubt it but you never know! you encounter rude CMs so seldomly at WDW that it could very well be the same person. the one we had was a young girl with long, blonde hair.

by the way, i LOVE luke's expression in the RnRC picture! so funny!

Hi Annette, THAT IS HYSTERICAL!!!! I see you guys in that pic now, too funny! Wonder how you ended up behind us in line since we waited on Tim forever, guess I'll have to read that in your report. I know what you mean about the rain, I will have that in my next installment, that is what my teaser meant by "tornado's in Florida?" it was CRAZY!!!!

I'll ask Tim what she looked like but she was young and I think did have long blonde hair, that would be too weird if it was, but I agree you just don't find many rude CM's. I loved his expression on RnRC too, so cute!

Sorry to hear their ride wasn't working properly and your sprayer got stolen... We have learned to always take ours... and it's really annoying carrying a bunch of junk...

What a bunch of good mixed with not so good! Overall the day was a fun one, though. We love the HISTK playground. It's a must for Lauren and Christopher, and that is sometimes what we do when some want to ride the BIG rides and others don't. The only problem with it is there is no place comfortable for the grown-ups to sit down! And with all the kids running around we like to stay in plain view so they can find us when they want us. I can't wait to see Toy Story. The ride looks similar to Buzz Lightyear in some ways, is it?
