Second, the video was awesome since we are only 18 days from being tehre for the first time! Iwas so glad when my dad chose WL(although your new home resort was also in the running!

Glad you liked the pics. Stinks about the vegetarian options, hopefully they'll add more. With any dietary need in Disney can't they customize something for you?

So when I left you we had come back to the room for a nap and to get cleaned up for dinner. This was our big night at Cinderella’s Castle and when we were going to give Lauren our own BBB makeover without spending all the money. We had brought her tiara and sash from last year and bought some glitter spray and brought her Cinderella dress from home, it was GO TIME. Tim did an awesome job on her hair (hey, he’s a stay at home dad who can fix some good hair, I have a great man : ) and I did her makeup and got her dress. I think we did a pretty darn good job:

With our beautiful princess in tow we headed out to the boat to go to Magic Kingdom:

Poor Luke was having a pity party because Lauren was getting all kinds of compliment. DISNEY PLEEEEAAAASSSEEEE do something for boys special like they have for girls everywhere, I hate trying to explain this to Luke every year and wish I could do something cool for him – oh well. I tried to make a game out of it with him saying “let’s guess how many compliments Lauren will get, I guess 20, how many do you guess?” He thought that was cool and it distracted him a bit.
We got in the gates and off to the right I saw Chip and Dale, Luke had been BEGGING to see them so I whispered to Tim “take Luke over there by himself and let him visit with Chip and Dale and Lauren and I will go check in at the Castle”. Tim took Luke and the camera and Luke was on cloud 9 (Lauren had NO idea):

We were excited about our meal in the castle. Here is Lauren waiting to go in:

Then it was our turn to visit and take a picture with Cinderella, you get a complimentary photo package. Here are the kids with Cinderella:

After that we sat back down and waited to be called. It was so funny and unexpected when Lauren said to me “Mommy, that’s not the same Cinderella we saw at Epcot.” I said “sure it is honey, what do you mean, there is only 1 Cinderella.” She said “No, that one has a mole on her face and the other one didn’t” I said “maybe she put some make up on it or something” Which seemed to appease her a bit, but I thought it was so funny that Luke has NEVER picked up on the differences and here was my four year old doing just that. What do you suggest doing about this parents out there? I was at a loss!
So we got called to dinner and we ascended the spiral staircase, I love this picture:

I gotta tell you, after reading reviews and from our experience here a few years back I wasn’t expecting good food, just more doing it to eat in the Castle and the experience for the kids, but I am happy to report I was wrong, this meal was GOOD!
Salad and pretzel rolls came first, this was YUMMY!

I ordered the prime rib and it was really good:

The kids got hot dogs, this is my only complaint, for all the money you pay they should really spruce up the kids menu here, I mean in the castle eating a hot dog, come on Disney, let’s get a little fancier:

The mice were both there. First came Perla (I know it’s Perla, because Perla wears Purple):

Then came Susie:

Then the Fairy Godmother came out and did a singing and dancing show, it was awesome, she was so funny. In the middle of the show she came to our table and sang to Lauren for a bit, it was so cool:

Then came my favorite part of the meal, desert, this was TO DIE FOR!

After a wonderful dinner we headed to get a good spot for Spectro and WISHES (FINALLY going to see WISHES, we hadn’t seen it before.). I said we’d never sit in front of the castle for this due to the crowds, but Tim found us a great spot with a rope in front of us so we thought we’d be safe from the crowds. Here are Tim and I in front of the castle:

The kids had fun playing games and hula hoping in front of the castle, it was such a perfect night. We had about 45 minutes until Spectro started, we stood in our spots so we wouldn’t loose them and watched the kids have fun:

I left to go get the kids some popcorn and a drink, OH MY GOSH, I waited for about 25 minutes in a line and got back right before it was going to start .Tim was freaking out because this family had wormed their way into my spot and he had been fighting it for it. These people kept placing their tall kids in front of us and looking at us saying “can’t they just stand here”. I’m all about kids seeing the parade, but come on, it starts in 2 minutes and we’ve been standing here for almost an hour, I don’t think so. We let these three little boys in front of us but it was a battle the entire parade because I barely had any room and they kept getting in Luke and Lauren’s way, so stressful, I hate it when that happens.

We had a GREAT time watching Spectro though, here are some shots, so pretty from this spot with the castle in the background:

After an awesome view of Spectro, the crowds made it worth it with those awesome castle shots in the background, it really was so pretty. I was SO excited to be staying for WISHES for the FIRST TIME. We moved in front of the castle. Here are Luke and I playing “slaps” in front of the castle:

Then we ran into Darlene our buddy here from the Dis and beyond and her two roomies:

They stayed with us to watch the show. We LOVED the show, it was AMAZING, we had Tink fly RIGHT over us, we thought it was AWESOME. Here are some of the awesome shots Tim took:

After the AWESOME WISHES show, Darlene told us to abandon the stroller there or we’d never make it through the crowds, great advice, it was CRAZY crowded as it always is after shows at night at the parks. Luke was SUPER tired and kept saying he couldn’t walk another step and Lauren had to pee, great combo. We made it to the boat line and it wasn’t handled right, they have the main line which we got into and then they had the one to the left of the boat dock open for some reason that cuts off the main line and goes straight to the boats, people kept flowing from that line and it seemed like we’d never get a boat and poor Lauren had to pee so bad. She and I abandoned the line and headed for the monorail to take it to the Contemporary, I figured she could go potty there and then we’d take the boat from the Contemporary to the WL. Well, the monorail came quick and we got right on, made it to the Contemporary and she got to pee. Then we headed to the boat dock, there weren’t many people out there so it looked hopeful, but there were SWARMS of these nasty bugs, the people out there were dancing and hollering, it was CRAZY, it was so gross. This one lady was like “this is the worst moment of my life, I can’t take this another minute” as she was flailing up and down, it really was nasty. Luckily the boat came soon afer, I had to wipe the seat off to find a place to sit amongst the bugs, YUCK. And we made it back to the WL. Tim and Luke had beaten us BIG TIME, guess they got on a boat shortly after we got on the monorail, oh well.
We headed to roaring forks for some bedtime snacks (our vacation routine):

And then we were off to sleep after a magical night!

I am so glad you guys got to see WISHES this year!! Isin't it just awesome!! I have the CD from it, and we have been listening to it constantly and I tear up everytime just thinking about it! I love WISHES!

Lauren was so cute in her Cinderella dress. You guys did a wonderful job!

Oh, BTW we share the same birthday!! The 15th?? Too bad we had to share it with Father's Day this year!!

Great update, Lauren did look beautiful! So funny about the Cinderella comment! Great pictures of WISHES over the Castle!! Last year (my first trip ever!) we didn't get to see Spectro or WISHES! I'm really hoping we make it this trip!

Too funny about Lauren noticing the difference in the Cinderellas -- I think sometimes girls are just more observant about other girls than boys are, you know what I mean?

That dessert looks scrumptious! I could definitely eat some of that right now!

Yeay for Wishes and Spectro! What is it with parents sending their kids to sit in front of (or on top of) other people during the parade???

I didnt know you guys had never seen WISHES before. Was it all you hoped for? I know it is one of our favorite things to see at WDW, but crowds ARE crazy afterwards.
I wonder what kind of bugs were on the boat weird.

Love the pics of the fireworks behind the castle, I have to figure out how to take good fireworks pics before we go!!! And you got to see . That is a must do for us, whatever it takes. Great installment about a great night, except for those grody bugs!

good job on lauren's BBB homemade makeover! i totally would do that, too! the biggest advantage (besides saving $$$) is that it keeps her from asking for one of those squirrel-like hair pieces.

i've heard they have a pirate cruise for little boys. i don't know anything about it other than it's peter pan/captain hook themed and i think it takes off from the contemporary.

SO GLAD you guys got to see wishes!!!! isn't it so great? did you cry? i do every time, especially during the finale!

sorry about the rude people at spectro. i honestly think it's inevitable. they're everywhere! i just can't believe the nerve of someone who walks up 5 minutes before a parade starts and tries to squeeze in front of people.

It was an unexpected surprise reading your TR tonight. Yeah Me My DH and I have encountered last minute finding a seat for the parade people. I really hate that. We sit and wait for 1 1/2 at least before parade time just so we can get a great spot, and then it never fails that some family comes at the last minute and wants to infringe on my space. One of us will usually sit and save the space, so we have said many things to many people many times. We hate that. Tim did a fantastic job on the hair. No way will my DH even attempt to put in a ponytail. He's tried it before, but his manly fingers just aren't that capable of twisting that tiny piece of elastic. (at least that's what he says ) I think he just doesn't want to do it. Good job Tim! We ate at Cinderella's castle in 2002 and I thought the food wasn't worth the $$$ we paid, and you are right about the kids selection. Come on, a hot dog? Although my little one won't eat much other than chicken nuggets or hot dogs. No hamburgars for her. Sorry I went off on a tangent.

Another wonderful update!!! Lauren is beautiful, you two did a great job. I am with you that Disney needs to do something special for the boys, I have two, it always seems that everything is for the girls. I love the prime rib at CRT too, it was wonderful. Can't wait to read more

So glad you got to see wishes and had a great spot for the parade. Sorry about the intruders....I am sure there were spots farther back in Frontierland where they could go!

Lauren looks great...it would be hard for Luke I am sure-poor guy! Great picture with Chip and Dale!

I thought the castle was good food- and that dessert was so yummy, and the desserts for the kids were really cute too! I did not realize that there were any characters at dinner- good to know!

So are you all headed to Grand Haven... or just you and Tim?

Hi guys, I submitted an email tonight to Disney for a new position, the position would be called "ambassador of Goodwil" I would roam the parks during late night parades and shows and watching to make sure people didn't cut in front of others who have been holding their spots. Upon seeing such activity my catch phrase would be "OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!!!!" and then I would banish them from the parks never to return again. I would salute my fellow Disney spot holders and fly away on a zip line to meet tink
