Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Well, this week for Luke's Kindergarten we were the family chosen to do a family book. They send home a backpack full of instructions on how to make your family book. You get to choose the topic, one of the suggested topics were a memorable family vacation. So. . .bet you can guess what our book was on :confused3
Our book was entitled "The Sawhook Family and our Love for Disney World"
Yesterday was our day to go to class as a family and present the book to the class. We all showed up all decked out in our Mickey finest to present. The kids got to ask lots of questions at the end, and Tim passed out Mickey stickers to each child in Luke's class, it was a lot of fun. Here are some pics of the day:
Well, I've been trying to post these pic's for the last half an hour and for some reason my edits (flipping and cropping) in Photobucket aren't working. We have a busy day of picking up Lauren's furniture for her bedroom today so I will post pic's later. Sorry guys.
Lesley
It was a fun day, Luke was SO proud. It was nice to share Disney with the class and this book will make a nice keepsake for our family. Just had to share with you guys :goodvibes

Lesley,

I have been getting caught up on your pre-trippie and I am loving your planning-style! I am enjoying all of your pictures...your kids look so much older than they do in the last TR! They are too cute!

AND...

what a nice husband to do Wishes for all of you! I will have to try that with my family as our next trip gets closer!

I am looking forward to reading more! :cool1:

Sorry,
I keep trying and trying with these pics and it won't work today for some reason. Here they are SUPER huge and not rotated even though they are showing up small and rotated in Photbucket. If I ever figure it out I will edit this post:

OT: Have you all made a countdown calendar? Seems like something your family would enjoy doing!:wizard:

glad to help... we were able to catch it last year when we were there and it was really cute... maybe one of the kids will get picked to be on stage w/ her... or even tim as the beast ;) That'd be a great memory for you guys :D

I would get there early enough to get a good seat like 20 minutes before. Hopefully at least one of you gets picked to do the story, it's so cute. My DD got to be Mrs. Potts on our September trip. I will try to post a picture.

Glad you are "all caught up" and enjoying the pic's. Yes, my babies are growing up too fast! I told Luke next year he is cut off, he has to stay 7 forever ; ) He laughed and hugged me and said he'd always be my baby boy - boy do I wish!!!
Yes, Tim is a good husband - I'll keep him ;)
Take care,
Lesley

Oh yes, we do one every year. Tim creates it. Usually it is SUPER huge and the numbers are on Mickey ears, we start somewhere around 100 days, which we are at now - WOOHOO!!! Tim has started a new one this year that is on a spreadsheet, it is in calendar format and each day has it's own colorful icon such as POFQ pic, Figment, Mickey, Minnie, etc. etc. then we will cross off each day, a new smaller format for us this year. I wish there was a way to post it here - I would in heartbeat, he does a great job with it every year.

Love the book. That was a great idea! You will cherish that memory for years to come.

I have a question. What does Tour Guide Mike offer? Basically, I am a little dense when it comes to this. I have heard of it, but I guess I don't realize what the big "pull" is to being a part of it. What does it offer that UG doesn't?

You know I can't compare it to UG but Tour Guide Mike has great touring plans for each park with details on how to navigate and not wait in line, he also has a calendar for the days you are going where it breaks it down by green, yellow, and red days. The green days are the days to visit those parks with the lowest crowds, etc. I LOVE those days and swear by them. He also has extensive sections about the restaraunts, parades (where to watch them, and other hints/tips to avoid crowds and get the best views) resorts, etc. etc. It really is worth the money. The forums on there are great too.
O.K., there is my Mike plug.

I would love to share!
I hope you don't mind me sharing here on your thread our experience with being picked to be the MK Family of the Day! We got to the MK EARLY that morning because it was our first morning at the MK and we wanted Maddie to get a good view of the park opening ceremony. We got in line at one of the turnstiles. Then a CM came from under the train station and was whispering to another CM and looking at us. I was like "what did we do?"...the CM's came up to us and asked us to come with them and asked what our names were. We sat down on a bench and then all these CM's came out and handed us a certificate that said we were Family of the Day and escorted us to one of the Main Street buggy-type cars. Not sure what they are called. The train conductor drove us in the buggy to through Main Street and passed the castle to Toon Town's train station. The only people out were CM's getting ready for the park to open. It was AWESOME!! We got out and a character handler told us Mickey and a bunch of other characters will be out to see us and take pics and get autographs. Next thing I know here comes Mickey, Daisy, Gepetto, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Stitch, and some others I can't remember on the top of my head. It was incredible! Maddie just kept laughing and hugging them! She was in HEAVEN! I cried. We boarded the train with Mickey to open the park and it started raining. So they had to improvise on the opening ceremony...no dancers and no confetti...we didn't care----It was still awesome and an experience we will never forget!

I think that getting to the park early and being the first ones in line REALLY helps getting noticed! Here are some pictures-
