Very observant ;) . Actually he has had them since he was 3 years old. We usually don't make him wear them at Disney since it is so hot and he gets all sweaty so that's why he doesn't have them in Disney photo's. He was born with a cataract on his right eye so he has 20/20 in his left eye and20/40 in his right, not too bad. The doctor said he won't have to wear them at all when he is 8 years old.

Wow! I have never heard of cataracts in little people. He will be 8 before you know it!

O.K., after blood sweat and tears:rotfl: I now have our new JUNE Itinerary for Port Orleans French Quarter.
Having spent the past two trips at WL and easy access to the Contemporary, monorail and monorail resorts for dinners I was concerned with some of our times and shuffled some things and am hoping this will all work out. I look forward to your thoughts/Feedback. Flights are booked, paid AAA 2400 towards the trip and am closer and closer to our Disney Trip. CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that plans this obsessively! Gotta love TGM!

Lesley,

We did the EMH at MK on the Sunday night before Columbus Day (very busy weekend). It was wonderful!!!! I know that TGM and the UG always say "Don't do it!", but we LOVED it. We got to do everything that we couldn't on Saturday (because it was so dang crowded). It was almost like having the park to ourselves. We stayed until 1:00 when it closed. It was fabulous. Now one thing to point out, I have older kids (13 & 8) and we live in CST, so our bodies didn't feel like it was that late. I would recommend it. If it is too crowded then the boys can come back.

One question, are you going to do Fantasmic when you do Mama Melrose at MGM? That is the only thing I saw missing. I am going to have to study it further to see if I have anymore suggestions. Still thinking about Father's Day.

My friend and I did EMH at Epcot on July 4th last year and we enjoyed it. We got the chance to do a couple of rides that we had missed during the day for the reasons that it was so crowded and so hot (we went back to the room at BW to take a swim and rest). Our children were 18 and 19 so we didn't have to keep up with children which made it easier for us. By the time the crowds cleared after Illuminations it was very nice.

Everything sounds great on your plan!

I was also going to chime in on the EMH. On the last night of our first trip, we did MK EMH. Our then 2 year old dragged us all around Fantasyland til 2am!!!! It was wonderful. We also went to an Epcot one which was ok - not as nice but we got to ride Soarin' a couple times. MK was better.

Do you use your snack credits for breakfast? I was just wondering, since you're budgeting money for extra snacks during the day. Usually the negative posts here against the Dining Plan are about leftover credits due to the large quantity of food that is received on the Dining Plan.

This would probably be too much running around but I would get Lauren done up at BBB on the night you have the 1900 Park fare ADR. So she will really feel like a little princess.

O.K., so in usual Lesley style ;) I have looked and looked at our itinerary and made some more changes.
The biggies are for my b-day and for Tim on F-day. Last year I took the kids to the parks while Tim went to Downtown Disney by himself and took in a movie. He loved having that time to himself in the World. I started thinking and hey SOUNDS GOOD TO ME TOO. So. . .for my b-day we are at MK in the morning, I'm going to have Tim and the kids go back to the hotel for a break after lunch and I'm going to stay at MK by myself, did you hear that, BY MYSELF:woohoo: for a few hours and meet them at the hotel by 5:30 for dinner. THEN, on Father's Day I will take the kids back after AK for naps (since we are now going to stay out for EMH at MK that night based on your wonderful oppinions/experiences) hoping Lauren will fall asleep in the stroller, and I've changed the itinerary around allowing flexibility the next morning after F-day to sleep in and recover from a late night at MK.
Also, I made a back up ressie at Spoodles, the new Lecellier menu stinks, I hate that the kids don't get deserts anymore, kids menu in general just isn't any good and I'm not to overly thrilled with the dinner menu for us either so we'll see where we end up that night.
ANYWAY, here is the new itinerary with new changes:

So. . .what are your thoughts now??
I completely understand about getting Lauren dolled up at BBB before 1900 Park Fair, but with staying at the French Quarter with no monorail access to get the Park Fair it would make for way too much running around, thanks for the idea though, it would be great.

Lesley

Wow, you are a great planner. I enjoyed your trip report last year and will be looking forward for your next one! I've only been to LeCellier once (back in aug/sep of '05). We were on the dining plan too. I took a look on www.allearsnet.com and they still have the things that we loved (appys, both filet mignon choices, etc.). We just loved our filet mignon there and my kids (adult dining ages) loved it too. My son is quite picky, but they were great and made up a special grilled chicken meal. The maple creme brulee was delicious. I can't remember all the desserts we had, but we just loved our meal there.

I have to agree the new kids menu's do stink. Makes me not even want to get DDP. We have Le Cellier on our list but may change to coral reef since at least it's entertaining for the kids. Is spoodles a btter choice with the new kids menu? Your MK day with a few hours by yourelf sounds fun. DD and i had a few hours with just us at Mk and it was great. We watched the afternoon parade and shopped too. Your itinerary looks good. i'm just waiting for the October hours and then TGM's best days and then I can plan mine. :goodvibes

Lesley what time do you arrive on your first day? What times do you plan your sit down dinners. I am in the process of planning for our sept trip, but tour guide mikes list is not out yet. So kinda looking at last sept for the busy and slow parks per day.

Hi, our flight is at 8:10 a.m. arriving at 10:10 so I'm guessing by the time we get to POFQ around 11 ish (probably closer to 11:30) and check in, get on the bus to MGM we probably won't get to MGM til 12:00-1:00. I want to catch the parade at 3:00 and get FP's for Rockin' Roller coaster or TOT to get at least one major ride in that day. I made dinner EARLY this day at 5:00 for Mama's in case the kids are pooped after getting up close to 5 for the flight. If they are feelin' it (Like I KNOW I will be) we'll stay for Fantasmic, but I didn't want to push it on day one.
For all the other nights I have dinner when we are eating inside of the parks from 6:20-6:40, however the Father's Day dinner at Contemporary I'm not eating until 7:00 because we're staying out late that night at MK and I want to give the kids lots of time to nap that afternoon.
When using TGM looking at last Sept for an idea is a good one, that is what I did for July when we were originally booked for July and it was very close but I did have to make some changes for dining although he opened up the best park times a few days after my 180+10 window.
Good luck with your trip!
Lesley

I saw that you were in Cincinnati. I think I might have written to you last year after you wrote your trip report. We are in Liberty Township. There should be an Ohio Dis Support group around here. I have a friend at the Polynesian this week and another heading down to Disney in May a few weeks before us. Seems like the Cincinnati area is full of Disney Fanatics!

I haven't used snack credits for breakfast in the past, although if they have those boxes of Enteman's doughnuts for a snack credit I would use one this year to save on breakfast. Tim is a HUGE breakfast guy though and he loves eating big breakfasts on vacation before we hit the parks, hence the large budget for breakfast ;)
