Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Okay, I admit I am envious. Not only of the thoughtfulness of Tim but I love all the Disney stuff in your house! Loved the pics on the wall and the comforter!:cool2:

Thanks, yes Tim is wonderful  . The Disney stuff on the walls Tim bought for me at Christmas this year, we now officially have a Disney themed living room and I LOVE IT! He got them at ALLPOSTERS.com and framed them from frames at Meijer, don't they look good!
Also, the comforter set was on clearance at Disneyshopping.com last year, I love that too : )
Thanks for posting.

I have two "DIS friends" who have stayed at the POFQ. Their Trip Reports were very positive about the place. It won't be as luxurious as the WL, but I think you will be pleased. I have heard that the slide is awesome! Can't wait to hear more.

Oh, yeah and they have carriage rides around FQ and Riverside. Also, there is a boat that will take you to Downtown Disney. We rode that when we stayed at OKW eons ago.

I loved seeing the snow outside your window. We only wish for snow down here in the South.

Wow! Lots of changes! Happy birthday to Luke :)
Ditto! :cake: :bday: :cake:

I'm kind of bummed that we won't get to tag up with you on your new trip plan :sad1: - maybe a future trip. Otherwise, I think it's pretty cool you got to move your trip up a month and to add another day. That's awsome! :woohoo:

Yes, thank you! I know, I am sad we won't meet this trip too, but since you are as hooked on Disney as I am, I know our paths will cross sooner or later.
Thanks, it's been a BUSY day of planning but fun as always (heck I LOVE the planning, so it's been my heaven today!)

Hey Tim & Lesley :wave2: !!

We are fellow Cincinnati Disney Addicts! It's nice to know that we're not the only ones. What part of town do you all live in?

We stayed at POR in 2005 and we took a boat ride to POFQ and I really liked it. We also had been used to staying on the monorail, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at a moderate again.

I am really enjoying your first trip report (I just started it tonight), and I am up to day 4. I am going through major withdraw, I really need to start planning a trip but DH won't give in to his "we can't go back until June 2007" rule:confused3 . What a MEANIE!!! Oh well the kids and I can keep on trying! We just got back from a December trip and I feel like it has been forever already, I think if I just had a trip booked (and if there wasn't 6 in. of snow outside) I wouldn't feel so disconnected. I'll just have to live vicariously through your TR!!

Keep em' coming!

O.K., now I have to switch gears and get pumped for POFQ, if any of you have heard good things please post, I need lots of positive reviews :woohoo: . I'm trying to get the kids pumped, the dragon slide is helping :rotfl:
One of co-workers goes to WDW every year and POFQ is his favorite resort. I've only stayed at POR and loved it. But POFQ is on our list for the next trip...whenver that may be. LOL! I think you and your family will truly enjoy POFQ. Something else to think about--maybe for 2008--is a split stay. This way you can experience multiple resorts and maybe save a bit too. Our POR trip was a split stay with AKL. We enjoyed both and knew that staying at POR for part of the trip made the trip more affordable for us. Good luck with adjusting your plans for June! I'm sure you'll do great! :goodvibes

:bday: I hope Luke had a wonderful Birthday!! We loved POFQ! It is smaller and cozy. The bus service was wonderful the last time we were there. The nice thing about this resort it you actually have access to 2 resorts for the price of one! You can walk, bike, or boat over to Riverside to enjoy their pool and Boatwrights. Take a boat to DTD. This was the first resort that I stayed at when I came by myself (meaning no parents, family, or school trips) so it holds a special place in my heart. :cloud9: You will have a wonderful time! The rooms are very lovely and mostly newly renovated within the past 2 years. If you have evening free take the kids wandering through the resort. You will see lots of fun streetsigns like Rue D Baga. There are also lots of small courtyards with fountains and lovely gaslightesk lamps. Having been to the real FQ I feel Disney has done a good job recreating that New Orleans feel. Always remember, You are at Disney!! Have fun!

Subscribing, now i know why you aren't going to WL :sad2: , thats stinks but you will love FQ I'm sure. I guess you have to do another itinerary  after all that work. You are as crazy as me with all the planning but at least your DH doesn't get aggravated with it. Anyway we have Poly booked but still might try for WL if a woods view opens up with the discount to save a few$$. Don't be sad about WL because alot of people rave about the POFQ and you get to try something new. Also June is closer so you get to go back sooner  . Your DD is so cute in her Belle dress in her birthday photo.

I also joined TGM last week and love all the info and tips I'm getting on there. I have to ask though, do your kids get tired doing a park everday morning and then night? I was wondering because my DS2 (will turn 3 by trip) still seems to need a nap and even DD6 needs a break. I like your itinerary but hope my DH and kids would hold up with a busier schedule. They seem to like spending alot of time at the resort. Good luck with your planning and ADR's. :)

Glad to have another obsessed Cincinnatian on board. Glad to hear you enjoyed Port Orleans, I am starting to really look forward to trying it, I keep hearing tons of positives, Luke is TOTALLY thrilled by the pool.
I'm jealous of your frequent trips, I understand, I have to be planning for disney or all isn't right in the world :rotfl:
Glad to have you on board for the trip report. I'm working on dining and the new itinerary and will post as soon as I get it done (should be VERY soon of course)

Thanks, a split stay is a great idea, maybe I could get Tim to try AKL that way, I would LOVE to stay there.

Sounds great! So does the boatlaunch to DTD leave from FQ or Riverside? Sounds wonderful, thanks for the positve review. Should be fun to try something new, should make for a fun trip report too :goodvibes

Thanks for coming and checking it ou - yes now you know why we aren't at WL, but people here have been doing a great job of making me feel good about my decision. Yes, getting to go sooner is EXCITING.
Southwest released airfare today but the times stink. The GREAT NEWS is Airtran lowered rates today too and now we can all fly from DAY to MCO (which is only 30 min. from our house) for 827 round trip, for ALL FOUR OF US! I'm excited. Now if my tax refund would just deposit tomorrow as it should I can BUY THOSE TICKETS! :woohoo:
You know, my kids are troopers. When Lauren gets tired at night she falls asleep in the stroller, but we were good about afternoon breaks and she napped every time (Luke did not, he and Tim swam or rented water mice, etc. while Lauren and I slept). We don't stay out too super late, usually leaving aroun 9-10 at the parks each night. I try to have at least 1-2 nights off per trip, I don't have a morning break scheduled this year because we can see so much in the mornings.
Glad you signed up for Tourguide mike, actually he also helped in the decision for POFQ, I read his reviews on CBR that we almost booked and he steared me away from it, glad I read his reviews too.
Well, glad to have you on board, I'll post my itinerary soon.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I was telling my husband about your initial trip report and found it extremely useful for our planning to the WL. :thumbsup2 Plus, it was just super nice to read. :)

I'm glad you loved WL so much...we're staying there for the first time in May and can't wait - your trip report about the resort was one of deciding factors. The pictures were so nice.

We stayed at POR every other trip - it's our favorite. We especially loved the boat trip to DTD..it was the best.

So glad you liked our trip report and the review on WL, you will LOVE WL IN MAY!!! I'm so happy for you, be sure to PM me upon your return and tell me your thoughts. I'm jealous.
Thanks for the encouraging words about POR, sounds great and am looking forward to giving POFQ a try. HAVE FUN IN MAY!!!! Be sure to put in for flag family!
Lesley

Good deal on the airfare. I agree i would stay away for CBR, it has awful reviews and I know a few people that have tried it and let's just say they don't even want to go back to Disney ;) Do you rent a stroller or bring your own for DD? We usually rent a double in case DD wants a ride too but DS can't fall asleep in it because it's so uncomfortable. BTW your Ds is sure growing up :bday: We are definantely not taking any mornings off either it is the least crowded time of day.

YAY for the extra day!!
and double YAY, you will be there the same time as I am..I will have to keep my DIS eyes open that week! :)

I am SOOOOO excited, woke up at 6:00 a.m. and our tax refund was deposited. I just bought airfare (Airtran rates JUST dropped 200 bucks for our total trip two days ago). Got all four of us roundtrip from DAY to MCO non stop flights leaving early in the morning June 14th arriving late in the evening June 23rd for only $828!!!! I'm SOOO excited.
Better get in the shower and get ready for work. :rotfl: Just had to share my joy with you!

Lesley

It leaves from both boat docks. So if you are down river at POFQ you can take the boat back up river to POR. POFQ is also the last stop before heading to DTD... unless you get on the boat going the wrong way! We did this a few times after too many hurricaines!:drinking1
