Loved your trip report and am loving your pretrip report. Can't wait to hear about your stay at POR.

By the way, I am new to the boards. You are my first reply!

Aha:lmao: Another Crocs convert here. DS has a pair of Caymans which he loves but I have always been a Birks girl-until now. I just bought a pair of Athens (black with yellow base) and even convinced DH to get a pair.
Not wanting to be left out, DS is waiting for his new Disney Crocs to arrive. They were sold out of his size everywhere.

BTW- Tell Luke his time for loosing teeth will be here soon enough. Our DS (3-9-2001) has lost 4 teeth in the last year. 3 naturally and one thanks to a dog leash (:confused3 ) We had quite the scare here on Sat. before Easter as the Bunny and the ToothFairy had to cross paths. Luckily no one was hurt or bitten.
I'll tell him, he's been waiting forever, all of his cousins and friends having started loosing theirs and he feels left out. I'm a former Birks girl myself, boy these Crocs are comfy - wore them today after we got home from the Lion king, the transition from heels to Crocs was PURE HEAVEN!

:rotfl:

O.K, so I have to run and give the kids a bath but I will post the Lion King report later tonight, IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! So stay tuned.
Lesley

I finally caught up, I missed a few updates :) Great t-shirt's, can't wait to see them in the trip report!

I just ordered my first pair of crocs - I have heard nothing but good things about them - we'll see.....

So. . .my parents bought Tim and I tickets to the Lion King for Christmas. She bought tickets for Tim, myself, my brother and his wife. They were GREAT seats, orchestra, center, row G. When I got these tickets in December I was so excited and April 28th seemed like it would never arrive. Well. . .TODAY WAS THE DAY!
My parents watched the kids, we dropped them off at 12:45 and by 1:00 were on the road to downtown Cincy to the beautiful Aronoff Center. We waited for Dave and Barbie (my brother and his wife) in the lobby. As we waited Tim snapped this photo of the poster in the lobby for ya'll:
LionKing001.jpg

We headed in to check out our seats, they were incredible seats. I looked around, seeing the drums on the upper right and left hand balcony. The show started about 10 minutes after we were seated. I must preface this by saying that Tim and I were excited to see the show but we didn't know quite what to expect. Tim had low expectations and I knew it would be cool but really had no idea what we would see.
As the show began the music immediately gave me goosebumps. The opening scene all of the animals filled the stage and came down the isles. There was this gigantic elephant that came down the isle by us, we were awestruck. The girraffes, the lions, the birds, the costumes, the singing. WOW:scared1: , we were totally blown away. As the scene ended the goosebumps were all over my arms, tears were welling up in my eyes, and Tim turned to me and said "That was the most incredible thing I have EVER" seen. I completely agreed.
It just continued from there. Rafiki was amazing, truly incredible voice, and makes you laugh just like in the movie. The young Simba and Nala were the two most talented children ever, excellent dancers, actors, singer, the whole package- I wonder how old they are.
The guy who played Scar had an incredible resume, he had played Phantom, was Jesus Christ Superstar, etc. he did not disappoint. Kinda glad I didn't bring Lauren at this point (I couldn't have afforded the 80 bucks for her ticket anyway, but some of the scenes with Scar would have freaked her out). On a side note, this play was PACKED with kids, several of them napping, what a waste of 80 dollars. However the kids who stayed awake were awestruck the entire time and loved the show, the most well behaved kids ever. I wished at several moments Luke was there because he would have absolutely LOVED the show (we'll take him if it returns to Cincy again).

The puppetry of this show, backdrops, music, and singing kept a smile on my face and my jaw dropped throughout the show, it is masterful the way they put this together. Even the way they had humans as grass and the way it moved as if they were walking through Africa was amazing.
The scene that blew me away was the Priderock scene were Mufasa is killed was incredible. The way the recreated that scene was truly breathtaking, all I can say is WOW!!!
Timon and Pumba were incredible actors and the way they worked the puppets made you look at the pupppets and not the actors, they had me laughing in stitches, VERY funny and extremely talented.
The incredible scene was when Simba is talking to Mufasa in the stars toward the end before he returns home, the way they have the stars move and form Mufasa's face is outstanding, Tim and I both said "that is so cool" at exactly the same time.
Of course we gave everyone a standing ovation and left with huge smiles on our faces, talking about the scenes, actors, actresses, music, costumes, etc. the entire way home. I took a picture of the playbill for you on the drive home:

To make a long story short, this play is absolutely AMAZING. I can't put into words how magical it is. If you have the opportunity to see this show, SEE IT. Tim and I both agreed it is one of the best stage productions we have ever seen. We are big Phantom of the Opera fans (I've seen it 4 times and love it more every time) but honestly, this was even better, and that is saying a LOT!

Wow, sounds like you guys had an incredible time, can I admit I'm super jealous...lol. LK came to Orlando in January but we couldn't find a day that both John and I had off together that still had tickets (after pre-sales). I'm trying to convince him that going to see it on Broadway would be so worth it but after having to beg him to go to the one in Orlando, I'm not too sure saying "honey let's pay $200 a ticket and fly into NY" would work...lol.

How many more days now till your trip?!?!

Thanks, it was the greatest show, Don't be jealous, heck we're jealous of you lucky one!!!
We'll have to work on John with you, it would be worth it but I'm sure it'd be hard to convince him of that, maybe it will come back to Orlando soon.

Lesley, it sounds like you and Tim had a great time at the show!
Thank you for sharing your pics with us:goodvibes

Glad you had fun! I fell in LOVE with the LK when it came into my town. The hype was all true, it was breathtaking!

Glad you were able to see it too, I now know what all the hype is about.

Lesley, glad you had a great time at the show. I was so hoping it would come to Boston again...we missed it last time.

Ok - back to the Crocs. I SWORE I would never ever ever wear those funny looking shoes  (and honestly until I saw the new styles, I just couldn't envision myself in them). I went on their website and they have TONS of different styles. :thumbsup2 I know people RAVE about CROCS, but are they really comfortable, because I have a very hard time with sandals. I have a size 7 foot but my instep is really high and some types kill my feet. Last year I just wore sneakers.

As for my husband, I showed him your pic and he said "we'll go look at them." My husband is 6'4...I could NEVER get him to wear the originals CROCS, but the pair you bought Tim look like normal sandals. I just ordered my kids the Disney ones...those are super cute.

I can't believe how fast time is flying.

I seriously can not tell you how comfy the style that I bought is. I have a hard time with sandals too, sometimes scrunching your toes to keep them on, etc. With these, honestly you move and they move with you, they stay on, they are like walking on air, I LOVE THEM! The pair we bought Tim he loves too, I agree, they look just like normal sandals, they have them at Dicks, use the coupon (link posted in former post) for 10 bucks off. Let me know if you do. They also have the thong type sandals for guys too.
Enjoy!
Les

Sorry, hope you get some good deals. I was born in Grand Rapids :goodvibes
Lesley

I was born in GR too. I didn't get there this weekend, it was too darn nice out for shopping. Love your new crocs. I think I may have to get that style. The only Dick's we have is in GR too. I'll have to get there soon. Loved the Lion King review btw.

The LK show sounds amazing! Glad you guys got to go :)
It really was, if you ever get an opportunity I highly recommend it!

Small world :goodvibes Well, you are just destined to return there for shopping then aren't you:rotfl: . Have fun, I'm wearing them again today and OH MY GOSH they are so comfy. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "are those Crocs??" and people compliment how nice they look, even had two friends at work try them on because they wanted to feel how comfy they are. Needless to say I think like 5 of the ladies here at work will have them tomorrow ;)

O.K, so we are now 44 days out!!!! Unbelievable!!!
I have started a laundry basket where we are piling our Disney clothes for the trip. When the come clean out of the wash, into that hamper they go.
Lauren's purple Crocs are scheduled to arrive in the mail today, poor girl, everyone has them but her, she's been quite patient.:thumbsup2
I have called Disney dining DAILY about the Mama's package but NOTHING! I'll keep trying. They have a 3:30 available but I refuse to eat at that time, I know, I'm a snob:rotfl:
Our latest quest is to find Tim a raincoat. I have a nice Disney raincoat I got on Disneyshopping.com for myself before our trip last year, it was AWESOME to have instead of the poncho's, it was nice and cool with a great hood and nice pockets. I can't tell you how many people asked me where I got it when we were down there. I hate poncho's, Tim and I both do, they stick to your skin and in that June humidity, YUCK! We prefer the raincoats. I got one for 9.99 on sale, (they actually have a nice one on there for 9.99 now too by the way). I got the kids theirs on sale for 9.99 also. (Actually I just saw those on sale at Disneyshopping for 7.99, so I HIGHLY recommend them). I got Luke a lightnin' McQueen one and Lauren Disney princesses of course. I'll take a pic for you and upload later of our raincoats.
ANYWAY, poor Tim has no coat, they just don't make them for men. Any ideas?? Anyone seen them?? Up for suggestions.
Until later. ...
Lesley

Yay for Lauren's purple crocs :) Not sure about the raincoat. I don't blame you for not wanting to eat dinner that early. Sheesh!
