Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Help Lesley, I need your advice! I have one too many table service meals planned on our DP, and i can't really afford to budget in paying OOP for one , so one of these has to go.I know by reading your trip report from last year that you ate at all these places and i value your opinion very much...OK we have Whispering Canyon for dinner, Crystal Palace for dinner and 1900 park Fare for dinner. Which one would you axe? I would also like to add that we are doing Princess Storybook breakfast at Akershus, so we DO have a princess thing with that one and DD will not let go of that one, so it has to be between the others. Thanks for your input on these! Paige:confused3

O.K., so I love them all, but I would axe 1900 Park Fare because you will already see the princesses'. Whispering Canyon is fun for the kids and a totally different experience and Crystal Palace has Pooh and friends. Boy, tough decision. If your DD really wants to see Cindy though then maybe axe Whispering Canyon because the food at 1900 is super fun. Luke is standing right here saying how much he LOVES Whispering Canyon and the ketchup antics, it is his favorite restaraunt.
O.K., so I'm going to backtrack, maybe axe Crystal Palace, since it's another buffet, 1900 is an AWESOME buffet and you get to see Cindy. Whispering Canyon is sit down so a different mix of foods and fun for all, so my final vote. . ..axe Crystal Palace dinner :goodvibes did that help at all??

Are your kids outgoing? My older son is quite shy and when we went to WCC he just would not get into it. It was almost sad because the CMs tried hard but it just wasn't happening. However, he loved Crystal Palace (we went for lunch) and was just fine with Pooh and friends coming up to him. Now all my kids love CP and it is a must do on our list when we go back in June (they will be 2, 6, & 7) then. I still don't WCC would suit my kids now. I have never been to 1900 so I cannot comment on that. Just thought I would give some of my own comments, even if you didn't ask me...

O.K., we are now in the 40's so it is time to start purchasing, hoarding and packing.
Today we hit the Disney Store and got some AWESOME deals. I could have spent all of our money there, the deals were incredible. Tim needed more shirts. Ever since our last TR he swore to me that he wants a different shirt every day. He was so bitter that every picture I posted of him he was wearing his ESPN shirt, he said "these people must think I NEVER change" :rotfl: . Luke has like a million Mickey and CARS shirts but he needed a new one too, I am ALWAYS looking for a bargain T to wear to Disney and Lauren needed some new shirts because she is CONSTANTLY growing (man, the nerve of kids ;) ).
So. . ..we hit the 4.99 shirt racks today and scored some great deals. I took a pic of our finds below. Tim walked away with 3 new shirts, I could only find one that I liked (well, one 4.99 one, a TON of 19.99 ones but I didn't want to spend that much, even though I'll probably buy one in the World for like 30 bucks, but oh well:confused3 ). Lauren got 2 new shirts, we got a Meet the Robinsons shirt for Luke too. So all in all, 6 new shirts for our trip for a little shy of 30.00!!!!! We had two 15% off coupons so we split up and I used one, Tim used the other. The tag prices for all of these purchaes was 82.50 so we saved 52.50:scared1:
Here are the new finds:

I bought a new Mickey bag from the Avon catalog that I will be using for our park bag this year. Behind it is a striped bag I'll probably stick the poncho's in daily. One great thing about stroller rental is we don't have to carry the bags:thumbsup2

So. . . .the brand new debate here at our house are CROCS!!! Luke wanted a pair, Lauren was begging for a pair so they now have CROCS. Luke's we got as an off brand at Target for 7.99:
Photo4-1.jpg

For Lauren the off brands don't have them small enough for her so I got a pair through Sunshine Rewards (earning 11% back on the purchase and using their 10% off code) and got them including shipping which was free for 22.00, they should be here any day now. I got her some cute purple ones.
Now Tim wants a pair, we'll be shopping at Dicks sporting goods for his this weekend. So. . .. .. now I need to decide. I swore I wouldn't get a pair, I wear a size 10 ladies, so they just won't look attractive. HOWEVER Tim HATES the shoes I wear to Disney every year. I have worn them every trip to Disney for the past 4 years, they are comfy and I love them, when I post the picture I have a feeling you'll be on Tim's side:rolleyes1

So. . ..what do you think :rotfl: ????? Do I need to join the CROC craze and join the family and get a pair??? Any color suggestions???

Well, that's all for now. I must go and fix some dinner. 48 days and counting. MUCH MUCH more to come, the hunting gathering has begun so I will post pics of our purchases and collections as the time quickly approaches.

Great find on the shirts! I say go for it and get some croc's - they're not the prettiest shoes out there, but they are definitely comfy! And the Disney croc's actually *are* cute. I bought the boys black ones with red straps. Everyone comments on how adorable the mickey head holes are :) DD was impatient and didn't want to wait for me to order the Disney ones - she got regular pink ones at the Hallmark store. Now she wants Disney ones too. *sigh* Anyway, maybe you'll like the Disney ones better!?

i LOVE my crocs! you need to go crocs.com and look at the different styles b/c the beach and/or caymens are not all that's out there! i'm sure you'd love them. ;)

Lesley,
I struggled to with the Crocs- I think while they are comfy, I would not like to wear those beach ones you see. So one day at Dick's I found the Cleo ones- and boy I love them! They are not as bulky looking and super comfy. I wore them around PKI all weekend!

Great buys at the Disney store!

I actually prefer the Airwalk ones (croc type shoes) from payless.... they are really comfortable.. .1/2 the cost and I get the ones that are multicolored.. they are really cool... You can find em at payless... Sell usually for approx 14.99 I even talked my DH into getting a pair .... and he loves his too, doesn't wear em as often but loves his too... he got plain black

Tanya

PS now I am going to have to check out the disney store this weekend and see if I can get us any cool shirts lol ...

Crocs has some really cute sandals. There are a few different types. Shoebuy.com has a ton and there are some coupon codes floating around right now. :) I have the Athens, which looks like a flip flop.

Oh great, now I have to go to the Disney Store. They closed the one in our mall so I have to drive to Grand Rapids. Thanks Lesley!!

I have the Athens too and bought 2 pairs of them - one pearl and one navy. However, now I want to get rid of the navy ones and just keep the pearl ones. Anyone wanna buy a cheap size 8/9 crocs athens?

:lmao: :lmao: You are killin me with those shoes! They do look comfy...but I have to agree with Tim---time for a new pair! I thought Crocs were the ugliest shoes ever....then I tried on a pair:cloud9: I love the Athens and the Caymens. They are sooo sooo comfy! My DH finally caved in January and got him a pair, too. He wears them all the time....after he made fun of me for so long for wearing them.:rotfl:

ETA: Your tees are too cute. I love the Mickey bag...I want one!
Great deals on everything!

To Tanya 90210- Thanks, I was actually at Payless today and they didn't have my size, oh well

Thanks so much. O.K., so after seeing your post I searched what Cleo's looked like and LOVE them. I just took the kids to Dicks and . . . .drum roll please. .. I HAVE NEW CROCS!!! After seeing the picture of my sad pitiful shoes I decided to break down and get some. I love them, I'll post a pic tonight or tomorrow of them, they are the Croc Cleo's lavendar and black. I put them on and OMG, it was like walking on air, I LOVE THEM. Picked up a pair for Tim too (the open toe kind, forget the name) pic to come !

Too funny, I was killing me too after looking at the pic online, YIKES:scared1: , love my new ones, I'll post a pic soon. Glad you like the Mickey gear.

Sorry, hope you get some good deals. I was born in Grand Rapids :goodvibes

O.K., so as I said, I read your responses to my horrid sandals, and quite frankly after I saw them on the screen I felt totally embarassed :guilty: so I got the kids in the car after dinner and we headed to Dicks. I found a great coupon online for 10 dollars off a purchase of 25 dollars so I used that. While I was there I picked up some for Tim too. I SWEAR these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, they put my old ones to shame. I put them on in the store and was smiling from ear to ear, they are INCREDIBLE! Disney here we come, Crocs and all.

Have Crocs, will travel!!!
More to come.
Tomorrow Tim and I get to go to Lion King the broadway musical. My parents bought us GREAT seats for Christmas and are watching the kids for us when we go to the 2:00 show tomorrow, should be a GREAT time.
I'll post a review of it after we go.
Lesley
