Tim Allen Says 'Santa' Not All Fun
Tuesday October 22 12:13 PM ET

NEW YORK (AP) Tim Allen says working on his new movie "The Santa Clause 2" wasn't all fun and games.

He tells the entertainment program "Extra" that playing two different Santas to hundreds of screaming kids who were elves was not fun. He also says he thinks crew members had to pour water on one youngster to get her to shut up.

"The Santa Clause 2" is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 1. In the movie, Allen plays Scott Calvin, who has been Santa Claus for eight smooth years.

However, Santa's problems begin when he finds out that his son, Charlie, has landed on this year's "naughty" list. Desperate to help his son, Scott heads back home, leaving a substitute Claus to watch over things at the Pole.

But when the substitute makes some changes to the definitions of naughty and nice, Christmas is put at risk and it's up to Scott to return with a new bag of magic to try to save Christmas.

Would the former "Home Improvement" star consider working on another sitcom? Not likely, Allen says, adding that he can't think about that because he has other projects going. "How do you go back and recreate that magic you had?" he asks.

Allen starred on "Home Improvement" as a family man and host of a fix-it show.
