First let me say what a wonderful website you have. If you don't mind letting me give you a little background about our family before my question. We are Orlando residents and have season passes to Disney. We have never been Disney crazy until 2 weeks ago when we took our almost 2 year old to Disney for the first time and he LOVED IT! He fell in love with the castle and has not stopped asking about the "fafle" as he calls it. We had a completely different vacation planned for Aug. but now want to do a Land/Sea Disney vacation. After seeing your website we want to stay at the Polynesian. Here comes my question, we are on somewhat on a budget but want a view of the castle outside our room for our little one. Please give me the best recommendations on rooms. Somewhat centrally located because kids require ALOT of stuff!
Thank you so much in advance,

The renewed Disney Fanatic,
Naomi

I am not Tikiman but I can give you some info. Views of the castle - in your room - means you would have to reserve a lagoon view room, which is more expensive than a garden view room. Tahiti would probably give you the best lagoon view - non concierge. There is another lagoon view building and it's nearer the marina - the name is escaping me now, but I don't think the view would be as direct of the castle. And to be frank, rooms at the Polynesian are not cheap. You are looking at over $230 per night, unless an awesome AP rate is out for your dates.

Personally, if you have budget constraints, I would book a garden view room and then whenever your little one feels a need to see the castle, walk out to the beach and just sit there with him and gaze. The map of the Polynesian makes it look huge, but you can literally walk from one end to another in 5-6 minutes. If you choose the Tokelau building, it's fairly centrally located and a hop, skip and a jump from the beach and a view of the castle.

Have fun!

zulaya gave some good advise. Eventhough it is expensive, I would try to see if you can do the Lagoon VIew room. It would be nice with the little one to sit in the room or on the balcony and watch the fireworks or walk over to the door and see the castle from the room. Tahiti is your best bet. Eventhough it is the farthest from the GCH it is not far (5 minute walk) and you are right between the TTC and the GCH which you will use both a lot. The Tahiti rooms have two sinks and a slightly larger room which is nice. The other non concierge building with lagoon view rooms is Tuvalu and it does face the same direction but there is an island between the building and the MK. Also I found it some what of a pain to walk around the marina every time I wanted to go to the pool area. The pool is a short walk along the beach from Tahiti. If you do go with a garden view room then Aotearoa rooms X217-X229 (put in the floor number for the "X") face the lagoon at a garden view price. Also rooms X911-X913 in Tokelau have an angled view of the castle. Some of the rooms in Fiji rooms X311-X322 face the marina with an angled view of the MK at a garden view price.

I hope this helps.

For the great advice. I am making our final plans today and calling in the ressies. I will let you know what we ended up getting !

at the Poly but they didn't have any lagoon view rooms for the dates I needed but the very nice CM noted the building you suggested for gardenview so hopefully we will get it.

Thanks again for all your help~

Don't forget to bring your stroller. Whatever building you end up staying in, the walk back to the room is alot longer at the end of the day when the kids want to be carried!

Don't forget that, if your little one can stay up late enough, you'll be able to see the Electric Water Pageant right from your room if you can snag a lagoon view room. Keep checking back to see if Lagoon View becomes available.

Oh, and if you are in a garden view room, you can always head over to the new zero-entry, volcano pool (the shallow end is good for small children) to get a clear view of the castle.

Have fun!

Last time we went to DIsney we realized he was too tall for his Evenflo stroller ( it's real bulky anyway) so we are on a mission to find a lightweight stroller with a basket that doesn't cost a fortune. We will be doing the 4 night cruise after. Thanks for the suggestions, I am definately going to check out the volcano pool!

NPALL,

We had the same problem when our oldest outgrew his Perego umbrella stroller. We found a good lightweight Kolcraft stroller at JC Penney for about $65.00. It is gray and black with yellow stripes. It fit right in at the Test Track stroller parking. It has a basket, reclines and has cup holders but still folds down very flat and is lightweight.

Have fun!
