Tiki Room: Good or a waste of time?!

My dh and I happen to enjoy the Tiki birds, before and after. During the before show many people used to get up and leave though so it must not have been their cup of tea. I seem to remember that you cannot leave as easily anymore though. Might be wrong about that though.

Gotta Love those Birds..

Like most people have said, I didnt hear very many good things about the Tiki Birds, But while waiting for DH and DS to come back to the Magic Kingdom, and telling them where I was, and doing all the rides at least 2 times, (Flying Carpets, Pirates, Jungle Cruise etc.. (1rst week in Dec, raining and the MK was emptyLOL) I figured I might as well Try those Birds..

Im Glad I did, Very Cute Show!

Oh, you've gotta love the Tiki Room!! I even loved it when it was the old Tiki Room. We went to DL as a family in the early 80's, and my younger sister loved it- she called it the Sneaky Room- so in our family it's the Sneaky Room to this day. This is a cute attraction. You should try it even if you walk out saying, "the show was soo corny, but the air conditioning was great!".

The Tiki Room is a MUST DO for my husband and myself! It is so funny! But parts can be a bit too loud for small children.

Now I'm singing the song!!!! :p

I like the Tiki Room Under New Managment as well. I actually think it's better than the original- or at least more fun. One word of warning Iago from Aladdin (the parrot voiced by Gilbert Godfried) plays a large role in the show. Lots of people find his voice annoying, so if you do, I would skip it.

Absolutely a MUST DO for our family.....once you get that song in your head, you are smiling all day long.:bounce: :bounce:

I have always enjoyed both versions of this show. Definitely give it a try.:D

OK, all you fans of the original Tiki Room, all together now...."Let's all sing like the birdies sing, tweet, tweet, tweet..tweet, tweet." That was the tired old song that everyone sang during the show and left singing to themselves. Yes, it was cobweby but fun and I think it had a smoother overall flow as well.

The new one is good and probably more entertaining for the kids too but the old one left you with warm fuzzies. I remember just looking up with my mouth open in disbelief that they could make all those mechanical birds work so well and so in sinc. with the music. And that was EARLY AA technology.

Cute enough..my DH and I went to see the show and that would have been enough for us but now that we have kids I'm sure we'll see it more in the future. One person figured out where the exit was during the show and then one by one people kept filing out during the show practically stepping on several children in wheelchairs. It was so rude..the bright light from outside kept flashing in with every person that could not bear 5 more minutes.

One of the ways I torture DH when I can't torture him with Small World is the Tiki Room. He tolerates this better. I too prefer "Under New Management." We went to the original in Disneyland in February, and the show just took forever. My memories of the "Hawaiian War Chant" somehow missed how long "Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing" goes on and on and on. Gee, we haven't been on Small World in maybe three visits. October might be the time! LOL

PS Air conditioning on either coast is a bonus!

I too am a fan of the original, but still enjoy the new version. Unfortunately I didn't get to see it on our last trip because I wasn't aware of its shortened hours. We'll definitely make time to do it during the day next year.

I have always enjoyed the show and to me, it is a great place to duck into and take a breather.

We love the tiki birds. Just saw it for the 4th time last week and still laughed.

This is a must-see attraction for my ds age 7. Last year, we tried to skip it, because we had seen it the year before, but he loudly reminded us that we hadn't gone to the Tiki Room when we were making plans to exit the park.

It is a cute show, and you will laugh out loud.

but on my last visit I gave it a try. Never saw the original, so I can't compare it to anything, but I liked the show. Plus it was a chance to sit down in air-conditioning a take a little break while being entertained.

Well, I don't remember the original, but we did see the Tiki Room last year. It made my heart hurt to hear Phil Hartman's voice. He does the voice of either William or Morris during the pre-show. The show is done in a dark airconditioned room with bench seats in the round. I liked it well enough, but as with many of the attractions at MK, I found it to be incredibly short. I don't know that I would go out of my way to see it again, but most likely will at some point in the future. Mickey

DEFINATELY A GO! I also happen to love the Tiki Room! just think of it this way....you go once...you like it....you go again! it's just one of those cute things you have to go see! HAVE FUN!

My DH won't miss the Tiki Room. It has become a joke between us. While I can do without it, I must admit when we see it, I find myself smiling and laughing. It is a short wait, and an entertaining show. I would suggest trying it.
