We are due to fly into Orlando around 9 pm on Sept. 29th. The plan is to go directly to ASMOvies. We have two little kids and want to get to bed as soon as possible.

If we go with Magical Express, will it be hours before our luggage makes it to our rooms? I've heard that MEx can take a long time transferring bags from the airport to the resorts.

Are we better off going with Tiffany Town Car? We'd love to use Magical Express and not have to pay the extra $$ and not have to worry about the luggage, but I'm afraid our bags won't show up until the middle of the night.

Thoughts, suggestions??

Thanks!!

When we went in December, it took a little while for our luggage to arribe at the hotel. I did enjoy the ride though. I might consider packing some pj's in a carry on or maybe even the next days clothes in the carry on and putting the kids in "comfy" pants and a t-shirt and let them sleep in that.

How long did it take for your luggage to make it??

We touched down at 840am and, if I am correct, got our luggage about 3-4pm. We went on to the parks when we arrived, but we asked before we left and they told us mid-afternoon on luggage.

We arrived at MCO on Sunday March 12th at 4:30pm. Our bags did not arrive at our resort room until 9:30pm. The manager of our resort told me we could have picked up all our luggage ourselves at baggage claim and brought it with us on the magical express bus that brought us to the resort. This is what I will do next time.

You should post your question on the Transportation Board, or at least go there and do a search. I think you'll find lots of information on this topic.

hello~

I just got back from Disney and used the magical express both ways. It was amazing!!! :) It was nice to not have to wait to get my luggage...and the whole process was really stress free. Just follow the people with the mickey hands! The best advise about luggage is pack some pajamas on your carry on in case luggage is an issue. I arrived in the morning and headed straight to the park...so I don't know how long it took. This magical express definitly made my trip much easier and relaxing. good luck! ~smiles4life

On our last trip we did a Mears town car from the airport to POFQ and magical express on the way back.I have to say that at the time of night your talking esp. with kids the town car is real nice- no waiting, they meet you at the bagage claim area, help you with luggage,go directly to the car and then to the hotel. Of course the on downside is its about $65 total for the ride plus tip.But the fact that while others were still sitting either on a bus at the airport or even if they were on their way- we were already checked in and in our room WITH luggage.Of course on the back we didn't need to worry about time so we took the free ride on Magical express.Oh and they also had carseats for the kids.

how much do you tip on a town car trip from mco to disney? FI and I are thinking about this as an option....

I did like $15.We kinda figured that was better than 20% so should be good. Not sure if that is too much or too little but at that time of night I didn't really worry about it, I just wanted to get checked in.

We tipped $10 each way... paid seperately, in case arrival driver wasn't return driver.

We did not receive our luggage tags on time so we had to get our own luggage at the air port. This worked out well for us because we had everything when we checked in. They offer to get someone to bring your bags to your room-take them yourselves. I thing this holds them up alot. We had a VERY short wait with ME and would use it again!

I always pack everything I need for an overnight in my carry on in case something happens with flights and we get stranded somewhere or the airline itself loses our luggage. If luggage is the only reason you are questioning the timing then I would pack accordingly and take ME. My question would be do they knock on your door at some early morning hour to drop it off or how does that work? Once I get my children to sleep I don't think I would care too much for having someone delivering our bags in the middle of the night.

Nothing beats a towncar scooping you up and taking you to your resort! When my husband is along, we will always use the towncar service (used Happy Limo last time and they were good).

But ME seemed good when I tried it. Much more organized than when it was Mears. I think I'll do it when it's just me and the kids. I mean, why not?

Tiffany Towncar all the way. I weighed the options of having free transpo via ME out for my trips last year. Even tho I had to pay for TT, I got my free grocery stop (a must for bottled water) I had help collecting my luggage, left MCO immediately & went directly to my resort. I was probably checked in & in my room before ME ever left the airport.

One thing I have learned on my trips to WDW - My Time is every bit as Valuable as my money. I can't seem to save both time & money. Since my vacation time is so very precious to me, I'd rather spend a little bit of cash to have more & better quality WDW time.
