I can't wait to try this. I might have to start this week. Thanks everyone...now here's "another" DIS project that I have to do. I swear they never stop.:rolleyes1

I have read all posts, but did not see an answer to the question about whether you baste the outline of the mickey head? Also, where do you get the silk basting string? Thanks.

Yes you have to baste the outline of the Mickey Head( I think is on the first page pictures)

The silk thread you can find it at wal mart, taget, hobby lobby, michael's etc.

So I tried the shirts over the weekend, got one mickey okay but the other has white ears. I have a lot of white in the swirls, did I not get enough dye on the shirt? Do you pull the folds apart when putting the dye on the swirls?

I also had the shirts really wet when I did the dye part should they be dry prior to dye step? The kit said that they should be wet but maybe I had them too wet. Oh well I can always try again. :hippie:

How come one has white ears? Maybe you didn't put enough die?

I do pull the folds a little bit apart if you want them to have lots of color, some people like them with most of the shirt white, then you dont pull them much.

The shirt should be wet but not dripping. I soaked mine already tied in the soda ash, then you should wring them. I've tried dry before and I didn't work for me.
Don't give up, keep trying. :cheer2:
