Tide pools?

I read a post on here somewhere about walking "down to the rocks" to see the tide pools. I took it to mean the right-hand (if facing the ocean) point of the lagoon that Aulani sits on. Does anyone know if that's right, and if so, I assume you'd just follow the beach around to it? Or do you walk on a path somewhere? We're in our final countdown now!!!

This might be a reference to Paradise Cove, which is an amazing place a five minute walk from Aulani, where there is a natural lagoon with tropical fish, sea turtles, and at low tide, shallow water close to the beach. There are better directions on Disboards with photos, but simply walk out of the front doors of Aulani, turn left, pass the Four Seasons, and then you'll be at the parking lot for the Paradise Cover luau. Watch for an opening in the the parking lot heading towards the ocean that takes you down a short sandy path fenced on either side. You'll come out at the cove. We went there everyday and swam with sea turtles!

You'll either walk by the street and enter the path in the paradise cove parking lot, or you can walk by the rocks. But the rocks are really slippery, so you need proper footwear.

Just an FYI - touching or harassing the sea turtles is against the law and monk seals, while they look adorable can attack.

and to whet your appetite. This is from paradise cove looking towards the direction of Aulani (so the bottom arrow in my map above) taken yesterday.

Oh shut the front door. That is just gorgeous. I can not WAIT!! Thanks for the great illustration. I had read the paved path directions but couldn't picture the beach path; definitely wouldn't want to go to the luau that way and looks like you'd need more than flip-flops to do it. Thanks again!!!

you can't go to the luau that way, by the beach, even if you wanted to. Guests on the beach are not allowed to go up onto the paradise cove luau property. During the day it's roped off and at night during the luau, you have to enter from the main entrance and there are people standing by the beach preventing anyone from accessing it. It's definitely more than flip flops walk.
