Hi

Probably a very simple question for you Disney regulars, but this will be our first trip so please humour me.

My wife and I are visiting WDW for the first time in September and are ready now to book for passes etc. Particularly as we want to book in at Discovery Cove and have been told to book that two months in advance.

My question is about Disney passes though. We are staying in the Grosvenor resort in Downtown Disney for six nights .We have been told that anyone staying in a Disney hotel gets free hopper passes for the length of their stay. However our travel agent has sent us a price list, suggesting we need to purchase tickets.

Advice please.

The Grosvenor is not an "official" Disney resort, so unfortunatly you can't get a length of stay pass/ultimate park hopper. If I was you, I would buy 6 day Hopper Plus pass. Or, if you plan on returning to WDW w/in a year, you could get an AP. -Stephanie

Of this you can be sure: There are very few things for "free" at WDW and tickets are at the top of that list.

You don't say whether you are travelling on a package or not. Some packages include tickets but they are not free. You would have paid for them in the price of the package. Your TA apparantly says you are not on such a package and that you will need to purchase tickets.

You should get his price list and compare what you would pay with some of the other reputable Disney ticketing sources like Maple Leaf Tickets, Ticketmania, Paramount Travel and even with Disney themselves.

Depending on your check in and check out times, it sounds to me like you'll want either a 5 day or a 6 day ticket. The 5 day comes with 2 plus options or without plus options. Those plus options will give you admission to the two Disney water parks, Pleasure Island, or Wide World of Sports. The 6 day only comes with 3 plus options.

Do some homework on these. The price difference between what tickets you buy and where you buy them can save you a substantial amount of money. All Disney ticket sellers are not equal.

Disney hotel guests do not get free hopper passes for their length of stay. There are a lot of packages that include passes, but they are not free.
