I am so confused...We usually buy our tickets from U.T. but this time I am taking a quick trip just me and the kids for Star Wars Weekend and only need 2 day tickets which they don't offer..I called to Member Services thinking I can pay for my tickets now and when I arrive they will have them there added to our room keys...I was told they don't do that???? That if I purchased them through member services they have to mail them to me and charge me the shipping fee and when I arrive they will add them to our room keys or wait and purchase them when I arrive...why is that? I really want to have as much of the financial part paid before I arrive since I won't have my husband with me for "back up money":confused3

Just get them at the resort when you check in. I didn't know that MS even sold tickets at all, even the way you described. But there's no reason to go through any of that - you can just get them at the resort or at the park.

Paying in advance and picking them up at check-in would be a "package" and DVC does not do "packages", they are not setup for it. You can have them sent to you and then added to your keys when you get there.

It seems your issue is more budgeting (pre-paying) than logisitcal...it's true that you can buy tickets (and either carry them separately or add them to your Key to the World Card) when you check in (altho I believe you have to go to the Concierge desk; the actual check-in CM doesn't do ticket sales--or at least that's the way it used to be...we've had APs the last five years, so that knowledge is a bit "old.")...

But for budgeting, you could consider putting the total cost of your tickets on a Disney gift card, and using that to pay for the tix when you arrive...it's close to the same thing as pre-paying...maybe that would help w/your budgeting planning?

You could get the gift card at your local Disney Store. They may even be able to help you with a ticket purchase, but I'm not sure of that.

But you can add dining...Wouldn't adding the dining plan also make it a package?? ..it just seemed weird to me that you can purchase them through member services but not pick them up when checking in and online it says you can pick them up will call but I think only at a park location it didn't specify and I couldn't get an straight answer if you could pick them up at concierge or not.. I just ordered them and had them shipped...It's only $5 for the shipping so not a big deal I just wanted to make everything as simple and prepaid as possible since its my first time traveling alone with the kids

Not if it's a DVC reservation. I think member services uses Disney's ticket ordering system if you call them, it's not connected to your DVC room reservation.

If you don't need hoppers, you might consider getting your daily tickets through the Florida Hospital for Children's donation page. The more you donate, the more tickets you get but you also get special gifts including Planet Hollywood certificates, etc. If we only needed a couple of days without hoppers, this is what I'd get, especially since there's really no discounts anywhere on single day tickets. Saw this on Mousesavers.com so it is legitimate. Here's the link to the web page:
