I have so many questions!!!
First of all, ticketing...I'm so confused by this. Are we supposed to buy tickets to our own room? Seems odd... shouldn't I get them for free? I mean, it is my room. And then what do we do with them? Are we just supposed to trade them to the people we want? AND, how on earth are we going to get tickets to these "ticketed events" I am reading about?

Club33... okay, this one REALLY has me... what does Yavn mean by "renting" to deserving players? I have only seen one gold star pin... there are many more deserving players for that pin than how many actually have it. That is the only think I can think of when "deserving player" comes to mind. And private events?!?! I'm not so sure I like the sound of that. "Invitation only" doesn't sound very friendly.

Now... MARDI GRAS! There are bead necklaces strewn in the NO Square, and Mardi Gras hats/masks pictured in the gallery. So, do you think we'll get these hats and celebrate Mardi Gras? And is it really something that kids should be celebrating? :rotfl2: ;)

Fireorks! I got third place, but no pin! What's up with that? How do I get my level pins? Also, this credit system bites. I miss those 1000 credits. 400 credits for winning is not worth the time and effort. Pirates is officially my best money maker.

And finally, hoping that no one else pointed this out, look what I found peeking around the edge of my browser window:

All this time and that costume is STILL popping up.... :surfweb:

*picking myself up off of the floor* I HOPE, hope hope that's the rest of our pirate costume! I hope they really are bringing it to us soon, I'm so excited!

Did you see that new mansion top? and beige explorer pants

Mardi Gras really can be a family friendly celebration... it is celebrated in more places than the French Quarter in New Orleans and really that is the only place that it is inappropriate...

Many areas have parades and balls some of the rural Mardi Gras where people dress up in costume with masks and ride on horseback from house to house to collect the ingredients to a Gumbo and then everyone joins as they go from one place to another and end up in a central location where they cook and dance...

The one reason I could see anyone complain about it is that it is a Religious celebration and I know locally some of the Christian religions do not support it or celebrate it so their kids won't eat King Cake or anything like that- but since the majority in our area are Catholic it tends to still be strongly celebrated with from 2-5 days off of school

Believe me Mardi Gras is much more than what you may have seen on Cops or Girls Gone Wild advertisements...

As a matter of fact Mardi Gras Season Started this past Saturday with Twelth Night- in my area all the Krewes (Mardi Gras Clubs) got together and did a big party where they showed off last year's royalty (for the last time) in their fancy costumes and people ate king cake and danced- and between now and Mardi Gras Day which I think is around 2/20 this year- the different Krewes will have balls- formal dances where their new royalty will be presented and then the weekend before Mardi Gras Day parades start here. In the New Orleans area and surrounding communities the parades start 2-3 weeks before the actual day...

I"m guessing that more New Orleans stuff will come out in a few weeks. Maybe, since they are being attractions in New Orleans Square, we"ll get more Pirates and HM stuff...

They also have the mardi gras parade at Disneyland it's VERY family friendly :)

I thought it was a little odd that you had to buy the tickets for your room too. A nice feature of those tickets though is that if you want to have a special gathering for someones birthday or something you can invite people that aren't on your friend list too, but not have to worry about booting people out of the room who aren't part of your group. They are only 10 credits each so if you wanted to fill a room it would only cost 140 credits, not too bad. I can see a big potential for abuse here though with players that might make someone trade something valuable to get a ticket for their room. Time will tell I guess.

I hadn't heard too much about how that club 33 was going to be used yet, but it does seem like another potential can of worms. :rotfl2:

I did notice the pirate costume. Hey while they are at it why didn't they show a flying carpet magic too? :rotfl2: Another elusive vmk item.

As far as Mardi Gras, VirtuallyMe is the expert on this, and as she already said very well it certainly can be a very family friendly event. I've heard Mobile AL has a great celebration fit for all ages! I am a little worried about Gator Waiter pushing the Mint Juleps though! :scared1: :rotfl:

Mardi gras does not have to be celebrated with debauchery. My family usually has a little Fat Tuesday fun, and it does not include anything I wouldn't show my little girls.

I was wondering about that myself! :rotfl2:

I was mostly joking about the Mardi Gras deal. I do realize that only a few circumstances make it seem more adult-friendly, I just had to question it for a second when I saw the beads! I don't celebrate it, and really the only thing I knew about it growing up was the beads and ways to go about getting those beads... it is just one of the first things I think of when I hear "Mardi Gras."

I have never seen 1000 credits for anything, and I would kill for 400 credits a game. Some people just don't know how lucky they have it.

Yeah I had to question the Mint Juleps too- I thought it a bit odd that they'd actually add an alcoholic beverage to the dictionary when people were getting in trouble for having Bear in months past...

And I've gotten tons of beads each year at Mardi Gras- I catch them lol- they throw so many that people tend to get picky about which ones they want- Last year my daughter made a sign that said "Hit me with your best shot" and stood really far away from the street and she got tons from the guys wanting to proove they could throw that far lol...

Well actually, Disneyland sells a non-alcoholic mint julep in New Orleans Square, which isn't so much a mint julep as it is a delicious minty flavored lemonade. Very tasty. :drinking1

i am getting more and more less interested in the pirate costume since they have had it ever since vmk opened, and it bugs that they still haven't even giving us a hint of when its coming out >_<

Have you had one? They are awesome, non-alcholic minty lemony beverages that you can get over in New Orleans Square! (At least at DLR!! The Ky Derby, another story...)

Now I want one.....bummer.:guilty:

Ohhhhhhhhh YEAAaaaa Bayyyyy be! :cool1: We went to see the 2nd one at the midnight showing and NO doubt will do the same for the third!

Just finding the mint julep "bar" was a task for me, rofl :) It was fun though, I tend to find something new each time I go and after 25+ times, I took a pic with my frosty new friend when I found it. They are pretty good and VERY non-alcoholic at DLR, of course. :)

has anyone noticed that if you block the Gator Waiter he pushes you out of his way? You will move without clicking, just like the dragon!
