Tickets on magic band question

We went the GR route because I was afraid I'd mess it up and it took like 2 minutes. They had a CM walking through the line with an Ipad asking what you needed, told him we had NE passes and expiring passes linked to our account and wanted to makes sure the expring passes were used first, he scanned my band with the ipad, brought up our MDE, moved the expiring passes up to the top (where they would be completely used first) and boom, we were on our way. :)

What does the active and inactive do? Anything?
It just changes the status of that particular RFID Device (MagicBand or Card). All entitlements (tickets, FP+ selections, etc.) that are linked to your profile are still accessible by any other 'active' MagicBand or RFID Card linked to your profile.

There's really no reason to deactivate a MagicBand or Card unless you no longer have it in your possession.

You can't make a ticket inactive. Making an RFID Admission Card inactive has no effect on the actual ticket.

I was searching for some answers regarding inactive tickets in MDE account and came across this thread. So if the tickets shown in my MDE account are inactive, will we still be able to enter the parks using our MBs. Or do we have to make the tickets active in MDE first before entering the parks? I have called and e-mailed Disney ticketing, but nobody seems to answer this question.

I had planned to use my NE PH tix when we go in a week and a half for SWW but realized that since we won't PH and our NE tix are valuable commodities for single day PH trips, we ought to buy a one-day ticket. Was wondering the same thing about how to buy new tix on my MagicBand without risking that the NE tix get used or that my FP+ reservations work. Do I have to do at GS (don't want to wait on line at HS at 7am on Mem. Day weekend) and can I do it at hotel (BWV) instead?

1. That is the prescribed method.
2. You can ASK at the Concierge Desk. The CM may or may not be able to do it.

If they are partially used NE tickets, then you need to visit Guest Services and have them "prioritize" your tickets. And you should double-check each day. If the NE tickets haven't been used yet, then you can create another "person" under your MDE account and re-assign the ticket to ensure it doesn't accidently get used.
