I just went to order our Fun in the Sun Passes from Discount Orland Vacations and they are not listed on their site! I found a post here that says they aren't selling them now and to check back in a couple weeks!!!!!!!!

NOW WHAT DO I DO?!?!??!? -- Deep breaths....

I researched tickets for weeks, convinced everyone the FITS passes were the way to go and now I can't get them?! ARRRGGGHHH!

Here's my big question....how do I ADVANCE purchase UHP's?
We are staying 6 nights, I need to know though if I can advance purchase UPH's that are only good for 6 days instead of 7 as we are leaving relatively early our last day and it's way cheaper to advance purchase a 6 day UPH than get the whole 7 day UPH when we get there ($310 versus $370)

I REALLY don't want to have to get regular 6 day Hoppers, they only include the water parks that we don't intend to use and don't include Disney Quest, which we DO intend to use! I have no idea what to do now! I could just cry!!!!!!! Help!

and hopefully I know what I'm talking about!;) Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I can't tell you anything new about the FITS pass but regarding the ultimate hoppers....I think they can be bought in advance as part of a package and must be for the entire lenght of stay. If you wait to purchase them as you check in you are able to leave off your check in day and your departure day if you would like! Again, I hope this is correct.:teeth: While I like to think of myself as a WDW expert I don't usually answer important questions like this!!:teeth: Anyone else have some advice to offer (or my advice to correct). Good luck!

Here's the deal.

How do you purchase Ultimate Park hopper tickets now? Go to Disneyworld.com, and order there - or call 407-WDISNEY, and add them to your existing reservation.

Here's the trick though - if you purchase them in advance, you can't drop a day. You would get them from the day you check in until midnight of the day you check out.

IF you want to drop a day, you can purchase them when you check into your resort. You won't get the advance purchase discount, but you will pay for a 6 day pass, instead of a 7 day pass.

You may do just as well to purchase 6 day park hopper plus passes, and then purchase DisneyQuest tickets from Mousesavers. I can't say if that's your cheapest option, because I don't know how many are in your party, their ages, nor do I know if you only want to visit DisneyQuest once, or multiple times.

If you supply that info, I can do some math for you! :)

Oooh, try to take it easy if you can, I know how it feels when you think you have everything planned out and then a wrench comes into the mix....try to focus on how much fun everyone will have no matter whether you get the "optimal" tickets!

Now, as to information that might help - unfortunately, I can't tell you much about the FITS tix, but regarding UPH tix, here are some things to think about (info. taken from allearsnet.com):

Purchasing: you can either purchase in advance from central reservations or the WD ticket center OR you can buy it from the front-desk when you check in.

In your case, it may be slightly advantageous for you to purchase from the front-desk because if you buy from CRO/WDTC your tickets will be directly tied to the entire length of your stay (i.e. good from midnight on the day you check in until midnight on the day you check out). This means you would be purchasing a 6-night/7-day UPH (disney website lists price of $326 for adult & $261 for child). If you purchase at the front-desk, you may be able to trim that last day off and get a 5-night/6-day UPH that would expire at midnight of the last night before you check out (disney website lists "front-gate" price of $315 for adult & $252 for child).

As you can see, it isn't a huge difference. If I were in your shoes and I absolutely felt I had to have the UPH, I would probably just buy the tickets in advance and have one less thing to worry about. Who knows, you might be able to do EE in one of the parks on the day you check out and get a little bit of value out of that last day.

One other thing I forgot to ask - do you have any intention to visit WDW again in the not too distant future? If so, you could probably save some money by purchasing annual passes. Some people schedule two trips at a time - for instance, the first trip in December 2004 and the second trip in November 2005. According to allearsnet.com, "in general, the break even point is 8 days for an annual pass and 11 days for a premium annual pass." For reference, the PAP includes everything, water parks, DQ, PI, etc. Anyway, if you had any thoughts about doing another trip within a year, this might be something to consider.

Ok, I'm still freaking out, but here's the deal.

I was planning on buying five adult FITS passes and
2 child FITS passes. There are two other adults going, but they were just going to get regular 5 Day Hoppers from AAA as they are older and don't plan on doing Disney Quest or PI or anything.

Anyway.....

I just hate to get regular 6 day Hoppers as I know we won't use the waterparks and we were really looking forward to be able to Disney Quest whenever, especially since the parks close so much earlier when we are there.

So I guess what I need five adult 6 day UPH's and 2 child 6 day UPH's somehow. I hate to think of getting seperate Quest tickets when will probably just be going for a few hours at a time on a couple of the nights we are there and was planning on a few hours on our non-park day before going to MVMCP at night.

Our hotel (POFQ) is already booked and deposit is made. Could I still break up the reservation into a 5 night and one night stay so that I could get 5 night/6 day UPH's at advance purchase price?

Am I babbling? -- Deep breaths --

I hate to pay the $347 for the 7 day UPH's when we won't get to a park our first day until about 4pm (and it closes at 8pm) and probably won't have much time if any to go to a park on our last day. We were just planning on doing DTD for shopping the day we leave. 7 day UPH's would seem like a waste of almost 2 of the days....PLUS the day were were going to MVMCP we weren't even going to go to a park during the day, the plan was to go to Quest the day of the party. :( I wouldn't feel so bad if we could get the 6 day advance price UPH's at $311 though as that is about the same price of the FITS passes...even though we lose out on the Character Meal that came with the FITS pass. The 7 day versus the 6 day is a $37 dollar difference for the adults, so for 5 of us, that's $185 less for the 6 day UPH...then another $56 difference between 6 and 7 for the two child passes.

Sorry this is so long....I can't think straight right now! LOL!

I don't even know what a FITS pass is.. but the ultimate hoppers You are right. What I did was did a room only stay on the beginning and end of our vacation. The downside? We have to check in/out 3 times, but because of the time of year we don't think this is a problem. Plus, by doing this and NOT getting a package, I saved about $600. I don't care for the packages. They charge about $200 more a person for a lanyard and poster and round of mini-golf!. Anyway, that might not be what this post is about... sorry!

I have a link for FITS passes that I checked just the other day, it's bookmarked on my home computer. Hang on for a few more hours and I'll shoot you the link here. I'm planning on getting these for our Jan. trip so I need to get off my duff and order them too.

It sounds to me like all you need is a 4 day park hopper (advance purchase price on disneyworld.com $202 adult, $162 child), plus a DisneyQuest annual pass ($79 adult $63 child). This way you could skip the parks on the first day, last day, and MVMCP day, and also go to DisneyQuest several times without worrying about a separate ticket each time, and be a fair amount cheaper than the UPH options. Just my opinion, but you might want to consider this.

Hey Bill! :D Discount Orlando Tickets was were I WAS going to get my FITS tickets! They are no longer showing on their website and someone else posted on another board that they don't have them right now (trouble with their supplier) and they hope to have them again in a few weeks. Hopefully that will work out for you, but you aren't going for 51 days and I leave in 24! I will be keeping an eye on their site...hoping they will pop back up!

Now that I've been able to have some rational thought, I'm wondering what you guys think about me just getting regular five day Hoppers? I can get them from AAA for $245 (no Pluses)

Here's my thinking:

The day we arrive, we won't hit a park til 3pm-4pm
(planning on doing MGM to see Fantasmic the first night and they close at 7pm)

Then we will do parks Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Thursday is MVMCP and that is a seperate hard ticket anyway and weren't planning on doing any parks the day of the party. So we don't need Hoppers for this day

Friday we are doing MGM and then Epcot for Illuminations.

Saturday (our last day) we thought we MIGHT do a park early, but mostly were just thinking of shopping at DTD before leaving.

So if you don't count Thursday (MVMCP day) or Saturday that is only 5 days we need park passes for anyway.

If I get some Quest tickets from Ticket Mania ahead of time, those with the 5 Day Hoppers might not be too bad...no?
Or should I just go with the flexibility of the UPH's?

Lisa :earsboy:

Did you get your tickets ordered? I couldn't see a message on their site whey said they weren't currently offering them. If you don't get your FITS tickets let us know. I already have mine but am afraid there will be problems with them if Discount Orlando is no longer selling them.

There was a thread on here a week or two ago, maybe do a search. Either this board or the budget board. The FITS pass was intended to be sold only to foreign visitors. People were reporting a hassle when trying to activate them if they had a US address. Maybe that is why they were pulled from the site.

Update - here's the thread:

Assuming that Fun in the Sun passes are not available, it sounds like a 5 day hopper would suit you just fine.

Firstly, the DisneyQuest tickets are available through Ticketmania! NOT Mousesavers! Sorry!!!! :)

Anyway, your AAA 5 day hopper, and 1 DisneyQuest admission will cost you $269.

An Ultimate Park Hopper purchased at the desk will cost you $335.48.

These are all adult prices.

You need to decide if the flexibility afforded by the Ultimate Hopper is worth an extra $67 to you. That's about two admissions to DisneyQuest.

I personally would tell you that it's an awful lot of money to put out, especially if there's a day where you're not going to any parks, except the Christmas Party.

Just my $.02

Bill -- I tried your link and it does show the Fun in the Sun Passes and it let me add them to my cart. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

I have a newsletter link from a few days ago and when I go to the page that used to show the FITS passes they aren't listed there.

There was a post on the Budget board about Discount Orlando FITS tickets though and she said she did call them direct yesterday and they said they didn't currently have the FITS and to check back in a couple weeks.

I was going to call myself, but they only have phone support until 2pm so I'm going to try tomorrow.

:sunny: As for everyone else...thanks SO much for all your
input! I've got some ideas and alternatives now and I feel alot better! I just have to sit down and really figure everything out on paper so I can explain it all to the rest of my group. :sunny:

Dis'ers to the rescue!!!!! What would I do without this board?!?

I am now totally intrigued with these FITS passes. A couple weeks ago, we booked accomodations for 2 weeks over Easter. Shortly thereafter, I purchased 7-day PHPs. Clearly, we would be much better off with these FITS.

After reading the writeup on Mousesavers, I'm wondering whether people are having problems with these passes - it is clear that they are not intended for use by residents of the US and Canada and there have been reports of Disney ticket agents being reluctant to redeem the vouchers.

I'm kinda mixed right now...my guess is that Disney will shut the door on these FITS passes in the future, but that the odds are we might be okay in the near-term. If that is the case, then it would pay to simply bank the 7-day PHPs for future use and purchase the FITS.

I'd love to hear even more about people's experience with this...
